PHOENIXZERO
We don't even know how long it's been since Michael got moved into FIB "protection" yet but given Trevor's age it could be the Gulf War and as far as we know he could've stayed in the military for quite awhile and been involved with conflicts in between along with the invasion of Afghanistan or Iraq in their early days. Or just a war most likely made up in the GTA Universe like the war against Australia.

SirTerning
This makes no sence and is REALLY far fetched and as many people have said already.. They where fighting in two different wars.
blakeney
OP thinks just because Niko and Trevor used to be soldiers they should automatically be connected in some kind of way, like they fought in the same war lol, how stupid. If you knew anything about recent world history and events, you would know that the USA was not really involved in the Yugoslavian Civil War of the 1990s. Please,i still remember when they were bombing Serb base in Lukavica in 1995. Have to clean broken glass for a few days. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995_NATO_bom...and_Herzegovina That was NATO, not the USA. It was the USA and like 14 other nations in an alliance fighting against the Bosnian military in one incident throughout the entire Yugoslav wars. Hardly qualifies as a major war for the likely hood of Trevor being there. Anyway, it's a far-fetched, stupid and pointless theory. Nato's whole involvement in that was lead by Leighton W. Smith jr. lol.............. Seeing how R* often reference FILMS this is perfectly plausible.
oRRe13
That would be awesome. But most likely they were on the opposite sides whatever war they were in. Obviously the balcan war, Niko fought for the Serbians during that war, which pretty much were the bad guys during the war. Their commander was Slobodan Milosevic, the man responsible for some of the wars most horryfying attrocities. America did deploy some troops into the Balcan area during the war, so it is possible that Trevor might've taken part in the war, but on the opposite side of Niko. They might've fought eachother in the war.

blakeney
I doubt Trevor knows about Niko in any way or form. Niko was in the Bosnian/Yugoslavian war, not an American war. It was a NATO war... lead by Leighton W. Smith jr. ... some USA general, and it utilized a huge chuck of USA's airforce in a war that included No fly zone up keep and widescale bombing of targets from jets (US ones...) How would it work out the war was not "usa's" enough for it to be impossible Trevor was there like in the movie??
Happy_Go_Lucky
Yeah America's involvement in the Yugoslav wars was pretty much limited to the air. So unless Trevor got shot down like Scott O'Grady, it's highly unlikely that the two would've met each other.

Would explain why Trevor doesn't give two sh*ts about "normal" life?

dagangsta
Remember how Niko was based on Vladimir Mashkov, actor from a movie "Behind Enemy lines". http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4080441344/nm0556343 In that movie based on a true event Vladimir's characters is chasing downed US pilot until pilot (played by a Oven Wilson) finally defeat him in boss fight and escape with rescue team. And now we got Trevor as a former USAF pilot who was probably in active service in the 90's. So what do you think could Rockstar reference this in GTA V as an easter egg? Maybe Trevor could tell how "I was shut down in Balcan and barelly survive fighting with the bearded guy in a tracksuit" like in this video: Obviously it would be considered that Niko was only wounded and survive. Oven Wilson, C'mon but it's not a bad idea actually.
eight nine
I was playing GTA earlier. Niko said he was from a village and looking for the person who betrayed his squad. He never chased a broke nose honkey through a winter wonderland. He and Trevor never met. GTA isn't metal gear. No crazy plot twists here bud. Lil_B_The Basedgod
It could be that Trevor has been in the same country as your mom at one time. So maybe he will reference your mom at one point, like saying "I once f*cked this stupid old bitch with saggy tits" or something like that. Dude, is that sh*t necessary? RoadRunner71
Well, in 1995 NATO multinational forces (US included) were deployed in Bosnia as a pacekeeping force. I don't know if there was any kind of confrontation with local forces, casualties or anything. Just pointing that out so maybe Trevor and Niko could have met back then. (US Army checkpoint during the Operation Joint Endeavor, Bosnia, 1996)

A bit off topic, but you seem to know your history, is it all Wikipedia or are you from Balkans? Kinda suprised this was bumped. Yes, i am from Sarajevo,Bosnia and Herzegovina and remember Bosnian War quite good. It is a theory that could be wrong for some other reasons, but not for lack of US Army and USAF involvment. jamieleng
Again...Different Universe, Plus Niko would of been in a Balkan war. IV and V is in the same universe, you are terrible misinformed. They are both part of the HD universe, as stated by Rockstar. I don't know why people have such difficulty differentiating the universes (2D, 3D & HD). Just by visuals alone, you can tell IV & V are part of the same one. Even though V looks better, it doesn't look so much different as to be considered HHD (Hyper High Definition) or whatever it's called. I was sure Niko wouldn't be returning & he still won't in single player. Multiplayer can & will feature characters from IV & possibly even HD renditions of 3D era characters. However that wouldn't be considered canon, just as Undead Nightmare & the characters from 'Red Dead Revolver' in multiplayer aren't canonical in Redemption.
