Watch Dogs is overrated way too much by so many people. It's not even on my to-buy list anymore. GTAV all the way. Even CVG concludes that it's a very good contender and even said the world is better than V's, based on the recent demos. Raavi, this really doesn't sound like your normal self. Why every thread has to turn into a GTA V vs (whatever open world game is currently being touted as a contender to the crown), I have no idea. I would love it if WD manages to compete on any level with GTA V, because that might mean Ubisoft are done with flogging dead horses & want to try to put more into their games, like Far Cry 3. Only problem is, if WD can be as profitable a franchise as AC has been, they won't be able to help themselves. It will be homogenized crap churned out as fast & as cheap as possible. Ok, my sensible response is: You sound like you're interested more in WD that GTA V, why is this? After all, this is a GTA forum, so you can't expect everyone to give you positive responses when you start repeating the fact that WD's world is "better" etc. As for Watch Dogs, I'm on Xbox anyway but I wouldn't buy it if I was on PS because: I lost all respect for Ubi when they completely f*cked up the Far Cry franchise. Anti aliasing flickering is unbearable, story was a letdown and MP tried so hard to be Call of Duty that it was dead from the start, and somehow they managed to downgrade the graphics in MP even though the maps are tiny. LOL. In regards to my original post; I thought using 3 dots instead of 2 would make it painstakingly obvious that it was a mordant reaction, now since people weren't able to pick up the allusion. I went from there and started a debate on what makes GTA V better than Watch Dogs or vice versa. Until now all the reactions I got were merely pointing out the conspicuous fallacies in my argument and didn't transcend. Which in turn made it very facile for me to refute these straw man arguments utilizing basic logic. Now I'll ask again: What is it that makes you believe GTA V will blow Watch_Dogs out of the water, and on what do you base this conviction. And please refrain from using obvious arguments such as "Rockstar is king, Ubisoft is peasant" or something along those lines. I hate words like that. /giveup To me it looks more like you are a Ubisoft fanboy and want to make GTAV look bad - GTAV will be better than any other game this year, it will be the game of this gen, decade and the best game for many many years - until at least Rockstar releases GTA VI or another great game (like they always do) Jesus. Just to Clarify, you sound like the biggest fanboy here so don't put someone down just because they may like another developer more than Rockstar. You need more supporting details for that to be considered a valid argument. And I don't see the point of just randomly parading another game's perceived superiority.. on a GTA V forum. Here is the actual quote from the CVG demo video of Watch Dogs: "It looks just absolutely rife with tiny little details that make things special and.. I might get lambasted for saying it, but this world excites me as much if not more as the GTA V world." They're watching a PS4 demo. It has amazing graphics... because it's on PS4. He's not saying, "The world in Watch Dogs is better than GTA V." You're just trying to get people upset and then pretend that wasn't your goal when people do, inevitably, get upset. OT: I am genuinely excited for the new stuff next week. Unlike Raavi, who sarcastically said he was excited for R* to show screens of the same area again. Sigh. Agree! So far it was Red Dead Redemption for me, but once GTAV is out it will be GTAV. YES. This. Off Topic: Raavi seems to 'like' WD more because he's a graphic whore. (aka a PC user....no offence to them) i remember a while ago Raavi commented on V having bad graphics Boo f*cking hoo just because WD blown you away with great graphics and a jacket which blows in the wind!! (how exciting is it ! ) doesn't mean that it will be better, Trailers/Marketing/Teasers/etc can be a tool if used correctly makes ANY game looks epic, while the final version sucks dick. (e.x Aliens: Colonial Marines) WD was shown on a f*cking PS4/High End PC, while GTA V on a PS3. invalid arguments is invalid. Yeah i recall the CVG guy saying that in the video, and i'm like "This world excites you more than GTA V? A gameworld that is basically set in one city, remains to be seen how diverse it really is, how atmospheric it really is, how long until it becomes boring and so on?" . That excites him more than the huge LS city of GTA V plus the huge countryside with wildlife, settlements and so on? Wow....hey to each his own. But i couldn't disagree more with that guy. I am tired sandbox games that provide only buildings and let the missions take place there, i am so glad to have the countryside in GTA V now. Should make for some great diversity and a big change in atmosphere and scenery. WD is a game i'm very sceptical about anyway. In that IGN video they said the hacking is quite similar to AC's viewpoints, and that is a very bad thing, that is one of the most tedious and biggest chores you can get in such a game. It's probably too early to say but i don't care, i already KNOW GTA V will be my GOTY. Rockstar hasn't disappointed me with any of their open world games, and GTA V isn't the game to do that, don't think this dev is ever gonna disappointment me. WD is a very different game if you think about it, look at what it will offer so far. You get to hack into pretty much anything, making for some cool and epic situations. Missions will be done that way, there will be driving and shooting and all that stuff. But so far, going by what we've seen and heard from Ubi, that's it. GTA V is a whole different thing. Car and weapon customisation, properties we can buy and upgrade, totally different story and locations and i can go on. Sure we don't know if we can't mod weapons and cars, but i honestly really doubt it. I also don't get some media sources..always looking for a game to beat another game. I'll be buying Watch Dogs for the PS3 though as I don't think the PS4 version will be that much different and I won't be buying a PS4 on day one. The same can be said for the next Xbox. As far as I know all the previews shown of Watch Dogs so far have been running on PC, so assuming you're talking about console performance I wouldn't expect much. Not to mention what has been released of the game looks pretty scripted, and we've seen very little open-world interaction.
