Raavi
Intresting point Raavi brought up there. What is there for us to see to make us go 'WOW'. I mean we have seen a whole lot of screenshots? We've basically perceived the exact same locations viewed from numerous different angles. Possibly because they don't optate too reveal too much or possibly because the other areas are not all that impressive. We can't tell one way or the other with any certainty at this point. However this begs the question: What more is there to see? – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise

The point is, they are hiding all the best stuff. It's not like they want us to see the best things in the game 4 months before release, it's logic. My opinion is in the next few months, we are going to see much better things.
allftw
Now I'll ask again: What is it that makes you believe GTA V will blow Watch_Dogs out of the water, and on what do you base this conviction. And please refrain from using obvious arguments such as "Rockstar is king, Ubisoft is peasant" or something along those lines. Watch Dogs without any doubt looks stunning and seems to feature a well designed city with a good atmosphere. While GTAV's graphics obviously can't stand against WD's it is also evident both from past experience and from what we've seen of the game that it has a highly detailed, vibrant and strongly characteristic world accustomed to Rockstar's known style. The main difference between the two world's is that while every environment we've seen of WD's look to be very similar, GTAV opposes that with urban, rural, desert, mountain and underwater areas. Not to mention the skybox. This gives V an obvious upper hand. Also although you don't want to see arguments like "Rockstar is king", it is widely accepted that Rockstar is the best open world designer in the industry while Ubisoft is yet to prove itself as such. And whether you like it or not that is very much relevant to this comparison. And gameplay wise while WD seems to revolve around a singular concept of hacking which is meant to get tedious once you see behind the curtain eventually figure out the patterns of the mechanic, V brings together much more different concepts and mechanics than WD ensuring that the game will remain fresh for a long time. As to other key mechanics of both games like shooting and driving, we don't know how well these two will play out in WD (my personal opinion is that driving looks particularly weak). But when it comes to GTAV, Rockstar has already proven itself capable of making those two mechanics work very well in their past titles and it is only natural to assume that they will improve upon them in their next game. I can go on for much longer comparing what we can expect from both games' stories and characters, the amount and type of vehicles we'll encounter in both games, the different activities/ side missions (whatever you call them) we know that are available to us etc. but to be honest I don't have the time nor the patience for that so I can only hope that this is a satisfying enough explanation as to why Watch Dogs won't be able to come anywhere near GTAV. MosquitoSmasher
I don't believe for a second that the gameworld in WD will be better than GTA V. I watched the CVG video and i observed how pedestrians reacted and what they did, i didn't even see a single ped reacting to the player. Just walk around in GTA IV and see how peds react to you, not all of them, but plenty do. It's maybe too early to judge, but i don't see a gameworld here that is nearly as detailed as what we've seen in the trailers of GTA V and screenshots. If it's one thing Rockstar always nails down, it's that...the gameworld. Never ever have they had competition in that.

Fail_At_GTA
People only seem to think WD is better because of the graphics. Sure, you can have amazing graphics, but graphics are pointless if there's no game to play.

Sure, you can have amazing graphics, but graphics are pointless if there's no game to play. But is it just me that HIGHLY prefers the look of GTA V? I can't be the only one that got bored of the almost...Battlefield 3'ish look of Watch_Dogs in that latest video? Sure it terms of how shiney things are and how crisp, WD is going to win that, but in terms of overall look and presentation i prefer GTA V by far. Why exclude great features that contribute a great deal to the game. I love riding horses in RDR and to do so in GTA V would be amazing. MosquitoSmasher
Yeah i agree about horses, it would be awesome for this game. But somehow i doubt it's going to happen. What the reason could be, i have no idea, but i don't think we'll be able to ride horseback. It sure sounds really easy for them to just implement the mechanic from RDR into V, but is it really that easy?

ChocoFrosty
They have to top Watch Dogs's amazing graphics and world somehow... GTAV will top any other game to come out this year. Watch Dogs is overrated way too much by so many people. It's not even on my to-buy list anymore. GTAV all the way. Even CVG concludes that it's a very good contender and even said the world is better than V's, based on the recent demos. It's really not helpful to use words like "better". You need more supporting details for that to be considered a valid argument. And I don't see the point of just randomly parading another game's perceived superiority.. on a GTA V forum. Why every thread has to turn into a GTA V vs (whatever open world game is currently being touted as a contender to the crown), I have no idea. I would love it if WD manages to compete on any level with GTA V, because that might mean Ubisoft are done with flogging dead horses & want to try to put more into their games, like Far Cry 3. Only problem is, if WD can be as profitable a franchise as AC has been, they won't be able to help themselves. It will be homogenized crap churned out as fast & as cheap as possible.
