Watch Dogs is overrated way too much by so many people. It's not even on my to-buy list anymore. GTAV all the way. Even CVG concludes that it's a very good contender and even said the world is better than V's, based on the recent demos. Sound like you're in the wrong forum mate... I reckon we'll see some more chases or scenery to be honest. I'd love to see some more vehicles. If you and I quote "Don't give a f*ck" why do you react to my post? Kind of defeats the purpose of "not giving a f*ck", as it appears you "give enough f*cks" to react. Raavi, just because CVG says it "Looks" better than GTA V, doesn't mean its better. Just To Clarify Posted May 10, 2013 Author Share Posted May 10, 2013 (edited) The press can be flashed pretty easily it seems - Ubisoft just has to show them some shiny looking graphics and everyone thinks - WOW, this game could be better than GTAV. I mean let's face this without being a fanboy for once, WD will be a next-gen game with better graphics - do I buy an open world game for its graphics???? No, and the press seems to judge games by its graphics - just think of it, they also were hyped about Killzone Shadow Falls and Drive Club, etc. - All good in those games I can see are the graphics, but nothing more, nothing innovative or whatsoever. GTAV will be the best game of this gen, decade and for many many many years to come. Rockstar Games will laugh at some of your comments as we speak. I don't disagree with you, but it's like me saying that the new Seth Rogen film "This is the End" is overrated, but how can I say that when I've never seen it? True, don't disagree with that either, but I am sure you can't buy property and change hair cuts and the stuff that was mentioned in V will also feature in Watch Dogs, by the way Watch Dogs main city will be Chicago, don't even think you will expect countryside like V or sharks and waves and all that stuff. This is a concept, just like the GTA concept, that can be applied to every major US city and unlike GTA also to every major city outside of the US, as the GTA franchise is tied to the US. So I beg to differ if it won't match, not to say surpass GTA- you have to keep in mind that the concept is really good and well thought trough and gained a lot of attention / fans in a very short amount of time. This could, if handled well, turn out to be the next big highly anticipated gaming series. I lost all respect for Ubi when they completely f*cked up the Far Cry franchise. Anti aliasing flickering is unbearable, story was a letdown and MP tried so hard to be Call of Duty that it was dead from the start, and somehow they managed to downgrade the graphics in MP even though the maps are tiny. ainsz Posted May 10, 2013 Share Posted May 10, 2013 What ever your impression of Watch Dogs is, you can't get away from how much popularity it has gained since it's E3 reveal. This game may turn out like garbage, but it's set to be huge so far. This year will be interesting in the sales wars I believe. GTA V / BF 4 / COD Ghosts / WD. And before you say sales don't matter. Maybe they don't but I find it interesting to see who came top and sort of compelling to have some kind of rivalry. But yeah, sure, let's compare the two and pit them against each other. How productive! Nothing will 'top' GTA because, quite simply, no game is even attempting to do the same thing. You could say the original Saint's Row tried, but even SR developed it's own identity. People need to stop seeing every free-roam game as a GTA-killer. Watch Dogs was designed with next-gen consoles in mind, GTA V was designed with current gen in mind. And honestly, dude, as good as Watch_Dogs looks, the world will pale in comparison to V's. Ok, my sensible response is: You sound like you're interested more in WD that GTA V, why is this? After all, this is a GTA forum, so you can't expect everyone to give you positive responses when you start repeating the fact that WD's world is "better" etc. As for Watch Dogs, I'm on Xbox anyway but I wouldn't buy it if I was on PS because: I lost all respect for Ubi when they completely f*cked up the Far Cry franchise.
