Wheatley
I found this article about Michael Mann's Heat, a crime drama set in Los Angeles and I thought I would share it with everyone seeing as Grand Theft Auto V is drawing many comparisons with it including a mission called "Blitz Play" that is based off the opening heist of the movie and Michael's character being very similar to Robert De Niro's character from the movie. http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/heat/25530...lassic-thriller I can see Rockstar trying to emulate (in a good way) Mann's work in creating one of the greatest crime drama thrillers ever made, Michael wants to pull himself back into his previous job because it boosts his ego which I'm sure is going to affect his family's opinion of him even further. Dan Houser claimed that when things go wrong for Michael - he'll retreat into his head. Also, I think that heists are not the only thing the group are going to be focused on. In my opinion, just like Mann's Heat, the FIB or CII (I think that's what it's called) are going to be on their tail after the first few heists. Perhaps this "Mitch Hayes" character from the Project Rush casting call will be hunting Michael down like Al Pacino's character from Heat. Anyway, give the article a read as it's very well written and it might give us some insight into what Rockstar might be doing with their own "crime drama". -Wheatley Edited May 10, 2013 by Wheatley
zainzombie
Yea an FBI agent or CII (whatever it is in V) should be on Michael's tail like Al Pacino. That would be cool. Thx for the article, will read it later.
jogy
Remember, Heat is not the only film that Michael/GTA is influenced by. More to come
GR7
Nice find I'll read it in a bit, good idea on Mitch possibly being like Al pacino's chracter in Heat. I wonder if Trevor in a drug induced state will pull a Waingrow and do something stupid during a heist that will put the crew in some very hot water. So far we've only seen the comical side of Trevor but the fact that he's not sober most of the time including during heist is going to lead to something very bad happening along the way. Wheatley
I was kind of skeptical about Rockstar putting all the emphasis of the heists towards the story and seeing no turning point for the crew. I mean, pulling off several heists must attract some attention from either the FIB or CII. This "Mitch Hayes" character sounds like the villain to counteract Michael. Don't quote me on this but it sounds like Mitch Hayes is the type of character who works hard yet receives no attention for what he does and pulling in Michael and his crew might improve his status for the FIB. -Wheatley
Apex.
There's so many references to Heat! I've got to watch this film man! Will hopefully get me in the mood for V haha! I doubt it but I'll have to see if it's on Netflix, if not then it's off the HMV (if that still exists anymore) But I'm gonna bookmark this and read it later. Goddamn this game is gonna be good. In great shape. Does triathlons, drinks low cal beer, but still has a sense of humor.

My bad, I've got to read it before I post. -Wheatley
