Chat bar problem using controller

Hi, I have gta 4 online and i bought a wired xbox controller to play but there is a weird bug, My online chat that i use when i press "Y" is working for the first 5 minutes but after that when i want to chat the bar goes away really fast, as soon as i click "Y" it instantly pops up then goes away

 

So annoying but it only happens when my controller is plugged in (Genuine Xbox 360 wired controller)
