Ferocious Banger
Before I get started, let me introduce Michael to those who don't know him. Michael Age: Early 40's ( 40/44) Profession: A retired professional conman/robber Family: A wife ( Amanda ) and two offsprings ( Jimmy and Tracey ) Status: Resides in the posh Rockford Hills in a mansion. Although currently rich, his money in the bank is draining rapidly, thanks to his bitchy family. Mental problems: Stress, depression and "addiction to chaos: He has two kids, with the eldest one being 20. That means that he should have got married 21 years ago. Let's assume that Michael is 40. Let's also assume that his family doesn't know about his past. Let's assume that Amanda is in her mid 30's ( 35 ) Now with the assumptions made, Michael should have retired being a "professional conman and a robber" at an extremely young age for retirement, 19. He should have also found Amanda and married her around that time when..Amanda was 14/15. Either the above ridiculousness happened, or Michael must be in his late 40's/early 50's. Or maybe his family knows? Edited May 10, 2013 by Ferocious Banger
guden
Maybe his family knows about his past and he retired about 5 years ago.

RedDragonsBOOM
Hes definitely not in his early 40's, mid 50's is more believable. That or the guy just looks pretty damn old for his age.

It's not a matter of "looks". It's been written multiple times that he is in his early forties.
roe
Why wouldn't his family know about what he does? Of course they're gonna know.

GroundZero
I believe Amanda is in her early 40's, too... She doesn't look 35 years old to me...

I am pretty sure that some preview confirmed her to be in her 30's. Correct me if I am wrong.
Zulu412
Why wouldn't his family know about what he does? Of course they're gonna know. In the beginning of Sopranos, Tony's family didn't know (well the kids anyway, until they got older) & his wife pretty much knew but looked the other way thanks to her posh lifestyle. Prob sorta the same here.

How does one tell the difference between a 35 or 40 yo woman in computer game world? Even in real life it would be impossible to do lol.

Seems like the kinda of family where as long is Michael is providing the money no one is complaining about his line of work
ASNAEB
The reason he's retired is because he was in witness protection, which is why he moved to Los Santos. But there he gets out of retirement.
gtamann123
Yeah he has probably only been retired for about 10 years. It said in previews that Amanda was "bound to Michael because of their past lives" meaning she probably can't leave him because she knew about his criminal activities and she too is in witness protection. Vin89
I don't think his kids actually know what he was doing but since he is in some kind of witness protection thing they oughta know their dad isn't exactly the 9-5 guy. His wife surely knows most stuff. That he used to rob people for example. Plus, Michael doesn't strike me as someone who likes to live two lifes at once in that way.
