I thought Luis Lopez was the best, he was a normal human being unlike Niko who was a complete schizophrenic or something, and now we have another psycho, Trevor. I like Lope too! He was great.. but would he run over 29 people on the sidewalk in order to save a few seconds? If you are a true stickler for character moral and motive.. you will appreciate what kind of game GTA is. While I play Luis.. honestly.. I drive more appropriately.. I may not be as tempted to lure a hooker to my killing spot.. but i dont want to live my GTA life that way.. POINT BEING.. gtav is giving us the option to play multiple characters depending on our mood. Want to rob the bodies of ballas? FRANk. Want to cater to the stars and wealthy? MIKE/ Want to bash open the heads or random people only to obtain minor amounts of income? TREV. R* game us everyting.. so you can't bitch about the singular part of EVERYTHING you dont like. Just less going official and more getting into better crimes and out of that gang stuff. So yeah there’s some CJ but it’s not like a copy pasta of CJ who just in the end wanted to get back into the grove. Personally I'm thinking all of them are pretty unique, I mean are there similarities? Yeah but if someone looks deep enough you can compaire just about any two people on the face of this earth when it comes to some aspect of their personality, hobbies or whatever else. What I mean is I really liked John Marston and his personality in RDR, so I wanted other characters in the game to like him. I wanted it to make sense in that world, so I used him as a hero. The people in GTA V will already have a problem with Trevor based purely on his appearance. You should make them hate him and fear him. That's his character. Don't be scared to be a maniac when you're playing as Trevor. You're trying too hard to think of him the way you want him to be. There's a reason we have three different protagonists. If all you want to do is walk around as Michael and have everybody like you because you're a clean cut guy who has money, you're going to miss the point and a lot of the work R* put into GTA V. Don't be so basic. Play the other side from time to time, because you might end up enjoying it more. Knowing R*, people will probably talk sh*t about Trevor, not let him in certain places, and I bet the people who choose to free roam as him will have much more motivation to cause some havoc and make people pay for being so judgmental. Official General Posted May 10, 2013 Share Posted May 10, 2013 Since I first saw Trevor I thought that he was an old man who would be killed in a mission at some point, I never thought we would have to play as him.Personally I don't really like Trevor, he's basically just another Niko Bellic, another angry man who served in some kid of war. I kinda agree with the OP. I think Trevor would have made a great non-playable major character in the game, he definitely has the right qualities for it. But as a protagonist ? No just not to my taste at all. His wild and crazy violent antics just don't impress me, I don't why some people think just because he's like that, he's cool. He says he's gonna "get his d*ck out", ooooh wow that's so funny, that makes him a real funny guy. He leers at Michael's wife's tits, ah that's so funny and so cool . I would say he's overrated. Having a fresh approach does not always equal success, and I'd say that about Trevor. I just cannot seem myself ever warming to a dirty, scruff tramp-looking guy to play as in GTA. By that I don't mean he'll turn out as mentally torn and broken as Niko, but and I know it's a random example take Tony Montana into consideration. On the surface you'd think he's some drugged f*cked refugee who doesn't care about anything. but he does in regards to family and not screwing those who don't deserve it. Infact alot of characters in video games/movies with the most surprising amount of depth are usually the ones you don't expect to be. I'd say all of R*'s protagonists this gen (even Luis as much as I hate him) have had respectable amounts of depth. Trevor has grown on me since I saw more of him, but I can't help, but wonder there's a side the trailers haven't shown and we'll have to wait to play the game. As they say looks can be deceiving. Trevor is a one of a kind in the GTA series, Rockstar said that he was inspired by the players that simply like to bring chaos to the city killing everyone on sight and doing crazy stuff. I'm going to bet something really heartbreaking happened to him which turned him into the mad man that we know today. Remember they mentioned that things will happen in the game that will make Trevor look like the bad guy at one moment and a good guy the next, interestingly they said the same about Michael which means Mike will probably do something really f*cked up at some point that will make Trevor seem rational in comparison.
