ZZCOOL
ive seen rockstar games listening to our ideas i have no proof on it but its pretty obvious ive seen alot of feedback on the game but i have yet to see anything about the sound what i want is completely reworked sound i want the best possible engine sound of ANY games available today sounds in iv were cheap they were split up files making it impossible to even mod in better sound i dont know if all games have split sound files though what i want the sound being completely reworked from iv entirely starting from scratch the game is starting to look like any gta fans dream now all i want is amazing engine sound instead of the sound from iv
G D
People expect too much of V even with all the mind-blowing features (which isn't even close to being 40% of the game) that GTA V has, Rockstar also said it's not about the features. It's about the goddamn possibilities. >>>>>>>> even with that people want MOAR! Which always leads to disappointments. But yeah sound wasn't that good in IV, the weapon sounds are horrible. but it's fixed now....see trailers OP Edited May 9, 2013 by gdsaqqq
JRC99
Agreed. When I'm driving a muscle car, I want it to sound like it has an big V8. Not that silent sound they used in IV
wwinterj
We know they have added a score to missions like they had in Max Payne 3. I guess we won't really know much about the sound itself until we play the game.
ChronoStinger
Yes! i agree with op.! Everything should be remade, starting from weapon firing sounds (that is actually the weakest area! imo...) finishing with vehicle sounds and other effects!
Tobias_Rieper
Agreed. When I'm driving a muscle car, I want it to sound like it has an big V8. Not that silent sound they used in IV Especially when we customize it.
Meezarawcks
Well the Game Informer preview stated that they could hear Micheal's flip flop's as he walked, his bike chain as he rode, and sprinklers in the distance on lawns. Seems like they are making a real atmosphere and sound is playing a big part. Also I am playing Midnight Club Los Angeles and the engine sounds in the game are pretty good. I believe since there is customization then they will most likely have different engine sounds.

I hated it when the engine sounds in IV sounded like the engine needs some lubricating.

The roar of your own car constantly.

But just seemed unsatisfying that getting into a muscle produced a sound a fraction louder and different when really I wanted my sub to almost shake the room! The game is already as big as it is i don't think they have time for such trivial things like sound engine .

cutthoatish
The sound of the sniper rifle in Michael's trailer was LAME. Seemed like the same sound from 4.
ZZCOOL
The sound of the sniper rifle in Michael's trailer was LAME. Seemed like the same sound from 4. weapon sounds are much easier to change to better sounds through modding but vehicle sounds is damn near impossible due to a whole class of cars sharing one sound Edited May 9, 2013 by zzcool
98 in 1
You really can't base what the sound will be like by what we've heard in the trailers. Most of the sounds (gunfire, car sounds, etc.) are edited into the trailer and not actual in game sounds. Go back and watch the trailers for any GTA game and you'll see that. I just want each car to have their own distinctive sound. Or at least the cars that count i.e. all the sports cars and muscle cars. I hate the fact that pretty much all the sports cars in any given GTA share the same 1 or 2 engine sounds. Then again, I do understand that sound does take up a large amount of space as well, so they have to make due with what they can.
