Erratical
Hey can a GFX artist help me out with a problem? Well I had an Idea to make a sig, and went searching for a stock/texture to use as the background, however I couldn't find it and was totally confused on how one may make it, so I was thinking about a carbon fibre, that started in the top left and faded towards the bottom right, or a Hexagon type pattern that faded at the center. Can a GFX artist either create a few styles for me to use or give me a tutorial on how to do so please.
GunWrath
It's time consuming to make one from scratch.. but here's one that I used before in the past. http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/2114/carbonfiber.png Open that in photoshop once you save it to your computer. FILE>OPEN just type 'carbonfiber' it will register it and then click open if you save it as CarbonFiber. Once you have the carbonfiber image open in photoshop then go to EDIT>DEFINE PATTERN .. save the image as a pattern so you can use it as a pattern like this > Then you can use it as a pattern to fill text, backgrounds, etc. Once you color in a background for instance, like this > > Then simply double-click that layer to open it's Style Menu 'Stroke, Gradient Overlay, Bevel' etc etc and Select Pattern Overlay, then select the carbon like this > Then you should end up with this end result. Hope this helps
