Buffalo Soldier
In college today, literally every guy was talking about GTA V. I was trying to get a load of work done - and ended up spending two hours with my buddies and a few other guys I've never even spoken to before, searching through screenshots and just talking about Los Santos, the characters, the missions etc It was actually quite surprising to me how massive this game already is - I'm not gonna lie, I thought the extreme knowledge of the game so far, was only limited to the online community. But to see so many people just talking about it, people who've also read the previews etc It was brilliant. My mate's girlfriend was trying to speak to him - and he completely shut her out so he could watch Franklin's trailer on his phone which resulted in alot of girls asking ridiculous questions about the game, one even asked 'Is this the new Call of Duty?' silly woman. Needless to say, this game is going to be insanely huge when it's out. Never before, have I seen a game or even movie, gain so much attention and publicity through nothing more than word of mouth. Because if you think about it, all Rockstar have done is sent out some screenshots and a few trailers - all online. The rest of the GTA V's promotion is down to us, the fans - and we're doing a pretty awesome job at making sure everyone knows about the king of gaming's big comeback this September. Gtaghost22
I know. People that keep on saying the next CoD will easily outsell V just don't understand how popular GTA still is. They think because the last one was released over 5 years ago then people forgot about it, which isn't true at all. GTA V will be the best selling game this gen and it will break every single record, quite easily (and deservedly) as well.

jogy
Grand Theft Auto is a game everyone must have in his collection. Vice City, San Andreas, IV. These are all masterpieces. V will be the same. The best game that ever was produced by R* on the PS3, the best PS3 game their is.
Rizaki Koizumi
The next Call of Duty? In terms of popularity, GTA has always trumped CoD in that regard, but some have somewhat forgotten about GTA as of late until now. There isn't too much buzz in my area about GTA V yet, but most do know that it is coming. sh*t's going to be insane by time E3 hits though. Apex.
Come to think of it, GTA really is like the game of all games, it's the big boss, next to Call Of Duty I suppose but that hype really died down. When V releases it's gonna be big in the news I imagine, as it was with IV.

Yeah that's funniest, when they hear bullsh*t rumours and they're all like "I hear it's gonna have San Fierro and Las Venturas in it and CJ and Sweet will return!" and then you feel all superior, patting them on the back like "Yep." You're missing inviting the press for previews and the press generate a lot of publicity. While everyone and there mother is looking forward to GTA V the typical response from my bother and mates over a pint at the pub is "September? That ages away!" and life goes on. creed200569
Well going by the timeframe of when the games came out. GTA 4 sold 22 million copies and COD MW2 sold 24 and GTA 4 was missing so many key features that turned alot of ppl off and now they are coming back with a vengeance in GTA 5 giving us more than we ever thought we would get so I can see them surpassing them in sales

wwinterj
I just can't believe that I know so many people who aren't getting V because "it looks rubbish and the new CoD will be better" MORONS. I understand if people want to buy COD although it's not my thing. I also understand some people don't like GTA but to say V is rubbish or even looks rubbish is very ignorant. Personally if two games I want/like are out near the same time I buy both just as I plan on doing.

MizzouRah16
Grand Theft Auto IV set the Guinness world record for video game sales, so I expect V to do the same. Edited May 9, 2013 by MizzouRah16
Cutter De Blanc
My friends and I are the only ones I personally know of who are excited about this game. I brought it up at work once and some dude was like, "BATTLEFIELD 3 IS SO MUCH COOLER BRO YOU SHOULD PLAY THAT." I just shook my head and went back to work. rader1
What i find most amazing is that it seems like R* is actually listening to the fans. I remember back last nov when the initial previews were released they basically said "f*ck you guys, we're going to make the game WE want to make not necessarily the game you want to play." You couldn't acquire new property, side missions/activites were talked about as if an afterthought(WHOO!!! YOGA!!! wait... wat?) and the game world would be limited outside the main story and a lot of people were dissapointed by this. It seems like this approach has completely reversed and they realised people want more than the Housers poor attempt remaking immigrant story. Of course, 7 months hasn't been enough time to for them to do this so hopefully this was their plan all along and not just them finally realising the disappointment most had with IV. I actually went and re-preordered the game from Gamestop last week.

My mate is just as obsessed as I am, however, I find myself guiding him from the bullsh*t "beta" videos on youtube, as he's a bit gullible. And that's why I hate a lot of FAKES circling the internet about GTA V. My nerdy friends are the most gullible guys in the crowd and they talk sh*t like "the beta video has shown Franklin doing blah3x..."
