LTA1992 Posted May 9, 2013 Share Posted May 9, 2013 Hmmm I think people throw around "delay" too much. Technically when GTA V releases it's going to be its first announced date. It wasn't given a date then pushed to September. It hasn't been officially "delayed". As for me I'm going to busy with university study also, but such is life not everything falls how you'd want. I wish it would release this month like most of us hoped, but I've waited long enough. A bit more wont hurt. What about the initial spring 2013 release? A window, not a set date. Windows are estimates. So he's right, technically, there was no delay. Had they given a specific dat the first time around, then it would have been. I'll find time to play, but between the university and work, it probably won't be a whole lot. Who am I kidding, I'll play it every damn night, but the amount of time I play will be slim for a bit. But then I thought that if it had been released in May I probaly would have played all summer, got bored and sacrificed fun stuff like girls, friends, parties and so on. Now because of the delay I will only have time to play like 2-3 hours every week and that will make the game last so much longer. I am quite happy with the delay, I reckon my quest for 100 % will take like 75-100 in-game hours because of the vastness of it all so I will probably be bored with it by the time the first major DLC arrives. If you were to argue in a legal sense, then yes, technically they didn't lie. Not every country has Spring at the same time (although we seem to have skipped Spring entirely in my country). Would've been better if they had just put '2013' & only given an unofficial estimated quarter to shareholders etc. There are lots of people on here who would've preferred a different release date. Just be grateful you will still have the opportunity to experience it at some point, unlike a member who was mentioned recently (gta3freak2001). However with GTA V been a worldwide release we will get it Tuesday as folk in USA and other places I assume do. I'm not complaining. I hate waiting a few more days than USA folk to play a game. I'm a student and trust me my man, you have a shed load of free time. Why else do you think I'm posting on a gaming forum at 1:40pm on a Thursday Afternoon? In the first week of Uni don't be a shut in just to play V, you'll have plenty of time for that. Socialise, make friends in your block and save the serious gaming for a few weeks in when lectures kick in and everyone spends most of their time hungover. I was intending to this, especially how the first week is freshers week, and Iv been told first year is just chilled anyway! Especially in September. If it came out in December during finals, or even late October during mid-terms, fine. But its not, you'll have plenty of time to game it. I game'd it in university all the time, and my marks were fine. Ya it's too bad on the timing for me too. I'm moving in with my girlfriend in the summer. If they hadn't delayed it, I would've probably been done by the time we moved in. But now she gets to watch me crack out on GTA V and we can get in lots of fights about it, good times. Either way I'm still getting it the midnight it releases. Or it better be released at midnight walmart did with GTA: IV so i'm assuming gamestop or walmart will do the same with GTA V. But who knows. Ya pretty much this. When I was in college, my first 2 years I went to more or less a community college, and then transferred to the big university for the last 2 years. For acceptance to transfer, the U only looks at your last 40 credits, because even they know what a gongshow freshman year - especially that first semester - is like. If you were a college senior I'd feel bad for you. Freshman, not so much. I don't think you realize how much gaming is going to be going on in your residence. Hell, I gamed it more that first year in college than I did in HS probably. You'll be just fine, just manage your gaming vs. homework time well. Not really, I agree with you to some extent, I agree with that it would suck to have to wait till the end of the week to play but at the same time, When Friday comes and you leave either work or school you feel like such a large weight has been lifted off your shoulders cuz now you know you finally have free time on your hands to do as you please, tbh I would prefer a Friday release for all game too Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
