Algonquin Assassin
You'll still have GTA IV as your favourite GTA even after GTA V releases? Technically speaking GTA IV will be no match in terms of well everything objectively, but what about the subjective stuff? What if I don't find Michael, Trevor and Franklin as interesting as Niko? What if the bright and sunny location just pisses me off and I crave the dark and grim LC once more? Unlike GTA III to VC where I was glad to get some sunshine I feel it's going to take alot of convincing this time around. I fear R* have made it too contrived putting as much in as possible where it feels odd like when I first played SA and since have reverted back to VC as far as the GTA III era goes. I'm really looking forward to GTA V, but honestly it's going to take more than features to convert me from GTA IV.
GoldenBlade
I'm sure GTA V will top my list, but I still will never stop playing GTA IV. It's an amazing game, that will see my PS3 regularly.
Pyrrhic
I'm with DropTheSystem, I think GTA 5 will top it but ill always play GTA 4, it's one of those games you can stop playing for months and then come back, still have the hang of and then fall in love with all over again. See the thing is I think every GTA tops the last as they all improve in some way. GTA IV is 5 years old so GTA V will undoubtfully feel better overall, but there are still some parts that make me question whether it will win me over. I know alot of people don't really like the dark and sombre tone of GTA IV, but that's why I like it. GTA V looks to be polar opposite. I'm just not sure if I'll enjoy it as much as the tone in GTA IV. It doesn't look as cheesy as SA, but not as subtle and dry like GTA IV.
Kill Frenzy!
I like the sunny atmosphere and the mountains, NY doesn't have that. But I liked LC of the big large buildings and Bohan because it just look like a ghetto. One year later after V's release if I had to choose between IV and V I obviously will choose V because I like the Hollywood rich people, beaches, mountains, sunny weather and obviously there will be grey days because in LA it rains. By the way, I was never a fan of SA, I prefered Vice City much more because of the 80's culture that sort of things hyped me much.

Official General
@ Miami Lol, you are so legendary on here with this love for GTA IV, you are really funny man. Even though I still feel that GTA IV should have been better and fell a bit short on it's expectations, I still love the game. The excellent, very realistic NYC re-creation in the game still amazes me, the feel and the atmosphere. I still get a buzz and thrill of walking those mean-looking Liberty City streets and hoods. I still find the characters and most of the storyline of IV very memorable. I still love to absorb myself in that gritty, dark New York City-style world. My PS3 copy of GTA IV+EFLC: Complete Edition is going nowhere, buying and playing GTA V changes nothing. I will still play IV at some later point after playing a great deal of V. WildBrick142
IV was very good and I enjoyed ragdoll physics. Seriously, throwing Niko under cars or making him fall from Rotterdam Tower was hillarious. When I will get V, I will still play IV from time to time just to remember how awesome it was.
hall90
My big big worry is about GTA V playing three different protagonists and switching between characters in a game which is strange to say the least. And this is my concern for GTA V I always like to play one protagonist in a game PS I have a feeling GTA V is going to be a big disappointment concerning and playing the three different protagonists and this is my opinion. But I will always have GTA IV to play anyway. Edited May 10, 2013 by hall90

GTA V will be a bit improved on a technical level . but what if the map isn't big enough , if for example it is a bit bigger than GTA IV but not big enough to get a feeling you are in a really big area .?? . you know what , if modders bring the undersea aspect to IV , and this is not impossible if you watch what some modders are able to do out there , i think people will keep playing IV in 20 years . your interest in IV depends a lot on the way you mod the game too . if you have a vanilla game poorly optimized , i mean with lot of 3D objects around i believe the transition to something new will be easier . but if you have a nicely modded game with best cars mods around , with realistic handlings , custom carcols , i think GTA IV is something hard to let it go Edited May 10, 2013 by jpm1
Travís.
I think V Will become my new favourite, IV is my favourite, but I missed the country side when playing it. GTA V will just be amazing because of the serenity.
G D
While GTA V seems to be the best game R* developed so far, it may not beat it in subjective things such as: atmosphere, story, setting, etc. GTA IV gives me the feeling of an immigrant in a new country and i can relate to that considering i've never been to the United States. GTA IV is my second fav game, (second to only RDR) and it will not go anywhere. I'll still play it here and there after a MASSIVE GTA V playthrough. Offical General: And yeah, IV does have its share of problem. One problem i hated so much was being forced to hold the X (PS3) button to move faster while aiming(L2+R3 stick)& shooting (R2), cause if you don't do that you will walk slowly but it's fixed now. TheCzar
Well GTA IV is undoubtebly my favourite game of all time, I'm still piling hours into it to this day! I've completed the story a solid 12+ times and just generally love the atmosphere, however, I do think i've played it in to the ground, i feel as if i know everything about the game. I'm confident that GTA V will take GTA IV's place as my favourite game ever, butt I'll never forget LC HD and will continue to play it.

For the remainder of the time you will have to swap characters ONLY major missions like the big heists. It's aint that bad. However I personally would prefer if Rockstar did V like they did GTA IV+EFLC - 3 protagonists, 3 separate games and 3 connected storylines all on one disc. But they said we could play as our chosen character for the overwhelming majority of the game, so I'm fine with it.
GtaIIIFanBoy
i think i will like iv more than v overall i think the storyline in V will be far inferior to Iv and i also like III More than i do san andreas. so i think it will probably be the same with iv and v for me. hall90
Rockstar will pull off the 3 characters off very well. That is the big question for Rockstar will they pull it off or will it be a turn off for GTA V with the 3 characters. Algonquin Assassin
The muliple protagonists doesn't worry me. Essentially that's what we have with GTA IV/EFLC except with GTA V it's going to be more cohesive instead of being treated like 3 games in 1. IMO it's a bit extreme to consider not buying it because of the multiple protagonist mechanic. Edited May 11, 2013 by Miamivicecity
jpm1
i've been looking the screenshots well . and i couldn't manage to see signs of a big map . for me (maybe i'm wrong) the map will be a bit bigger than San Andreas but nothing more . there's a thing that can give the feeling you're in a huge map and occult the map real size it's the cities sizes . V cities looks pretty big and with the level of details of IV the feeling of immensity will probably be there . but i'm curious about the whole map final size on that pic you see what seems to be LS and in the backgroung you already? see what seems to be SF PC version will be available in one year mnimum . the game will need an high end rig to run smoothly . GTA V will be a great game for sure but i think IV has still fine days ahead of it . GTA IV will be out when GTA VI : VC will come out only
Shenmue18
Hopefully Rockstar does go back to a Vice City for the next game, Liberty City is great but VI needs to be in Vice City instead, as it would be the longest since we've seen VC after V comes out. jpm1
V should have been at VC but there were so few offroad possibilities in IV , they decided to go back to SA , with its huge mountain . it's true they aren't many mountains in Florida but they were other possibilities like the caribbean , the everglades etc ; but no mountains x)
