MosquitoSmasher
Man just now in chapter 4 of MP3 i was shooting this baddie with a MP5, no bullet time activated and his body simply didn't fall to the ground right away, cause the bullets kept hitting his body and it looked awesome. Kinda hard to explain..but maybe this is the right word, the body was simply twitching or shaking while getting riddled with bullets, and then he fell to the ground. That's the kind of stuff you see in mafia movies as well. I don't think i'm making sense, so watch the end clip of the movie Scarface here, spoilers for the ones who haven't seen it...in which case......no comment, lol. I think the twitching is the actual force of the bullet which was one of MP3's main selling points (every bullet modelled). It is the closest thing to a proper 3D shooting gallery, there are so many objects & assets that can be affected (if not destroyed) by your bullets. During my recent session with the game, I've been doing things like shoot dodging/diving through panes of glass while shooting a close enemy, pausing the game & doing that 360 degree pan around. All the glass flying, seeing the bullets in mid-air, just frozen in time, it's the closest to Matrix gunplay in gaming, it just never gets old experimenting. This is why there are so many unskippable loading screens disguised as cutscenes (good job they were top notch) & why we're unlikely to get anything close to that in V, unfortunately. Next gen though, who knows? I can't be sure of course, but i think we might be surprised how much of MP3 is gonna be in there. We already know that movement and gunplay is very similar to MP3 in GTA V. If these guns could have the same feel too when shooting them, that would already be great. It sounds like Michael will have a bullet time ability and it's then that we can really see how much of MP3 in terms of that is still in. Cause i'm not entirely sure i understand what you mean that we're unlikely to get anything close to that in GTA V. You mean the amount of objects that can be destroyed and affected? In GTA IV it was already possible to ruin a lot of things in interiors. If you enter Tony's nightclub you can actually seperately shoot all the glasses and bottles...V can only improve on this. So what aspect exactly do you think we won't have in V?
Psychotic Mind
For some reason I want an option to store weapons, bodies or hostages in vehicles. This was done in True Crimes games, and I always thought it was pretty cool. I can just imagine playing as Trevor, opening the back of a boxville van, where I have a sh*t load of heavy weapons, explosives, and other equipment stored. Or I have a hostage tied up in the back, then I just climb up into the back, close the van's door and torture them.
MosquitoSmasher
While playing RDR i noticed how powerful and punchy the guns sound, especially the Repeaters and stuff. I'd almost say i like the sounds of guns better than in RDR. They seem to have more power and punch in the sound here and i LOVE it when a gun sound has power. Hah, this guy prefers gunsounds in Red Dead Revolver over Red Dead Redemption. Get a load of this guy. I see what you did there, lol. However if i actually was talking about Red Dead Revolver , what makes you think i was playing that one first? Nah, i meant MP3, my bad on that. But now that i'm replaying MP3 again, i love how these guns sound as well. The shooting in RDR and MP3 is so incredibly different and BETTER than GTA IV, it amazes me how IGN said the shooting seemed like Saints Row, when plenty of other previews clearly stated that several mechanics from MP3 are being pretty much borrowed for GTA V. Shooting folks in MP3 is so goddamn awesome, seriously..if shooting in V only feels remotely similar...hell f*cking yeah!!!! In RDR it felt better to hear that louder bang and see that big hole, even though entry wounds are supposed to be MP3's size (in RDR the entry wound looks like an exit wound lol). Just makes you feel more powerful if you get what I mean. The louder the bang the more you feel it. And regarding MP3, the way they fall is so realistic it makes you want to shoot more just to see them drop dead. This combined would be SO good. Rock Howard
While playing RDR today i got to a very quiet area in the mountains, the ambient music stopped playing for a while and there was just total silence. I only heard the wind, i heard some animals and some other general nature sounds, its moments like these that you just can't call this a game anymore...it's really not doing it any justice, this is art. I'm sure we'll get plenty of that blissful silence in the countryside of GTA V. No question. RDR is simply awesome and is a f*cking work of art. GTA V will improve on RDR and MP3 I'm sure and that's why it's going to be the best game ever.

So what aspect exactly do you think we won't have in V? I was referring more to the bullets being actual physical objects in the game (which must require a lot of processing power). You're right about IV having many destructible/interactive objects in the game, it makes most corridor shooters seem lazy when objects are immovable/glued to the ground. I'll tell you what though, the quick scene of Franklin shooting that guy he has his light on, really reminded me of MP3.

Yes i agree, RDR's shotguns and repeaters especially had a better and more powerful bang than MP3. But overall the gun sounds are still damn ace and compared to GTA IV's....oh my. GTA V will benefit from so much of this, i love it. And yep, the death animations really are different depending on where the bullets hit. Baddies can die like in the animated gifs i posted on the previous page, but they can also die in totally other ways, lovely stuff really. It's the crazy awesome attention to detail that Rockstar puts into their games that really makes them my favorite developer. Whether that's North or San Diego, Rockstar in general is THE sh*t!!! It's one of the reasons why i'll simply laugh my ass of when seeing games like CoD, where there's still not even decent ragdoll physics and the way people die is just...beyond laughable, to the point that i just stop playing it. @Rock Howard While i always think it's way too early to already call a game, the best game ever, i can definitely understand that you are saying this. The game is gonna benefit greatly from what Rockstar learned from RDR and MP3, and there's just no words to decribe how f*cking awesome that is. I think going back to IV after having played V will be very hard to do, i think you'll simply want to go back to V right away because of the many many improvements. @jamieleng Yeah definitely, it really reminds you of Max Payne 3 indeed. Just now i was playing chapter 5 and i have a light on the rifle now, it looks great. I absolutely can't wait to just put all kinds of things on guns in V, silencers, lights, and so on. That part with Franklin pretty much seems to be how the game will look when you aim at folks and the camera goes behind the shoulders, it seems to be pretty much just as close to Max in MP3, which is really good. In IV the camera zoomed in on the character too closely, it was great in RDR and probably perfected in MP3.
ChocoFrosty
- RDR had waving flags and such and it looks awesome, MP3 actually had clothes that waved in the wind, crazy sh*t really. I just wanted to point out that there were flags waving beautifully at multiple points in Michael's trailer. So it looks like we can look forward to some awesome fabric visuals throughout V. ceerup
I want shoot dodge from MP3 but not slow motion (unless Michael could do that but we dont know about slowmotion shootdodge) and the same cover system as MP3. The ability to lay down also and roll around would be sweet.

Vice Beach
I'd love to see MP3's weapon carrying system. The people saying there will be too much to choose from... well.. good? That means you can carefully select your favorite 4 weapons. "Who wants to go on a rampage with 2 guns?" Uhhh, i don't know, someone existing in this normal realm of reality.. The less guns you can carry the better in my opinion. To go on a rampage, if you're playing like "drive fast from the cops get out shoot uzi's, helicopter comes up shoot bazooka, swat team shows up throw satchel charge at them, roll, throwing knife to a cop's face, backflip, grenade at the sniper on the roof, pow pow! Get in car peel out! Throw molotov out the window!!" Yeah you need ritolin. All you need for a good rampage is an assault rifle imo. For weapons storage, each character should have their own, personal vehicle, like Johnny's hexer. It will be a car icon on your map. When you enter that car, you can access your weapon storage and select from all of your available weapons. But you can only carry 2 one-hand weapons, 1 two-hand weapons, and a throwable explosive slot. And body armor is visible on the player. Also if you still play GTA games in 2013 just to rampage with an arsenal of crazy weapons that you magically pull from your characters arse you're a *douche*
BeardedxMic
Things I want from GTA V - The gun wheel/realism from RDR. If I equip a weapon, show it on me. Tucked into my pants, something. But let me carry every weapon I own at all times. I loved MP3, but that wasn't GTA. Different worlds, different needs. (IE in MP3 most of the bad guys were in front of you, so once you took them out, you could pick up the guns around you before walking forward for more bad guys. In GTA, they come from every direction. I might need more then three guns. I will need more than three guns.) - Duel wielding. I missed it terribly, I want it back. - Dynamic events like there was in R*, but I want more of them. This is a huge city, and it should be teaming with people who need or want certain things, and you should be a major factor in all of it. I'm not opposed to the thing that just happen around you either, but I get involved in everything anyway, so nbd. - I want the silencers to actually silence weapons. In SA it didn't always work when you were shooting cops. If I get a silenced head shot on a cop, it best be the end of it. I don't want him pressing some panic button with his last breath. - I want the ability to bullet proof my car. They have the technology. Let me have it. I don't care if it slows the car down, I'll deal with it. Just give it to me. - I want to stop seeing people talk about putting fuel in the cars. Forever.
