I did the exact same I replayed Iv a few weeks ago I didn't finish it but I will I just got the urge to play RDR again and i am enjoying my 3rd play through more than I enjoyed it the 1st time I played it its probs the most realistic open world game ever made it feels so alive lol. I think I replay max Payne 3 and la noire when I'm finished RDR and gta Iv.

RDR was a great game. And the graphics are also real like. The graphics of the water, the reflection are all real like..and the details of the mountains are also great. Now i just can't wait for GTA V...well the shooting in RDR is great. I have never played Max Payne 3, so i don't know how its shooting is like....

- RDR had waving flags and such and it looks awesome, MP3 actually had clothes that waved in the wind, crazy sh*t really. Also the wrinkles on Max's back would wave/move around...crazy attention to detail. I wonder if we'll see this in GTA V. That GTA V's attention to detail is pretty insane already is a fact...look at some screenshots where you actually see the arteries on the arms/hands of these characters.

Franklin's model alone contains more polygons than ALL the pedestrians of the original San Andreas. Wow.

I'd love to see remains of objects just left in the desert and forest, like RDR did with Bearclaw camp, and other sites such as cemeteries or abandoned ranches. Any time I play RDR the scenery is so beautiful I sometimes think it could be a painting. And just watching the sun rise and set really gives you the feeling for the environment.

I can't remember if enemies in MP3 limped when shot (I'm replaying it at the moment so I'll keep an eye out). One thing I do definitely know is, the body armour that some enemies wear in MP3, actually behaves like body armour, as opposed to it just meaning more health like in IV. Some even have armour on their legs, wear helmets etc, so you have to really pick your shots if you want to deal them any damage. I'd like this in V.

Hell yeah that's a good one.

Also the drenched and charred clothing in rdr for sure.

Yeah i would really like this as well. Or at least be able to grab a person and throw him at something, that's something i loved to do in SR2, as bad as that game is (IMO) i liked to grab mofos and just throw them at a moving train.

I actually do believe that we will see a lot of this returning in GTA V. Look at RDR and then LA Noire and then MP3. All games had something the previous games had. So it only makes sense that GTA V is getting the "peds walk with limp when shot in leg" , wet clothing, bullet holes/wounds, MP3's shooting mechanics and so on.

By the way, previews confirmed the weapon wheel for GTA V, didn't they? So that's going to be like MP3 and RDR too, GOOD!

Thanks for stealing my topic I made 4 days ago.

Yeah dude...i go around on this forum, check every thread and then see a thread and i'm like..Ok's let's steal this......right? No wrong. Man i wasn't even aware of your thread which isn't even the same as mine. I even have RDR and MP3 in the damn thread title. This thread is about what features from those games GTA V could use, NOT what it already seems to be using, a whole different thing there buddy.

So again....for clarity and how wrong you are.

Your thread is about what OTHER, non-Rockstar games, other than RDR and MP3, GTA V has borrowed from and mine is SOLELY about what features from RDR and MP3 it could use.

I want RDR on PC.

PC players don't deserve it. They'll just pirate it.

Like there aren't pirates on consoles. In my country. (NOT Romania), 99% of consoles here are pirated.

In Italy only 5% of PS3 and 15% of Xbox360. While it has been studied that more than 60% Pc gamers download things instead of buying them. Facts.

Oh? Inciting platform wars now, are we? It's really stupid and absurd to judge everyone according to what the majority does. If most PC gamers pirate doesn't mean ALL of us do. I have bought all of my games legitly and you sir, have an awesome mentality, the one that said we don't deserve it.

I would love to see the return of poker in GTAV. I've logged so many hours in Hold em on RDR.

While playing RDR i noticed how powerful and punchy the guns sound, especially the Repeaters and stuff. I'd almost say i like the sounds of guns better than in RDR. They seem to have more power and punch in the sound here and i LOVE it when a gun sound has power.

I don't know if these have been confirmed yet, but i don't recall reading about it. Caves and mines, i know it's starting to sound more like a RPG now, but honesly....some previews have said that too and i embrace it fully. RDR has a mission that takes place mostly in a mine and it's a nice change of scenery for those few minutes. Since GTA V is getting a huge ocean to explore and things to find, why not caves in the countryside?

Oh man these last few days i'm absolutely hooked on RDR again, i'm more or less 'rediscovering' this game, much like i had that with GTA IV last year on my second playthrough of the story. I keep being amazed at the smallest details in this gameworld. I notice new things like objects that i can actually destroy or whatsoever, it's the little things that count. I really like the saloons in this one too and it makes me think what kind of bars/pubs and restaurants GTA V could have, hopefully several of them enterable. Remember in the second trailer that we see two guys fighting, that bar really reminds me a bit of a saloon in RDR, and we see Trevor inside that bar when he smacks the poor guy's head in the wall or counter, whatever it is. So that bar should be enterable. Boy am i going to tear sh*t up there. It also looked to be in the middle of the countryside, so bars there should look vastly different from bars in Los Santos itself. I hope so much that we'll see a sh*tload more interiors compared to GTA IV. RDR already has plenty, from small shacks to a mansion, saloons, general stores and so on. They did promise a whole lot more interiors for V, right?

In several aspects RDR simply destroys GTA IV. I just can't get enough of the awesome shooting mechanics in RDR. These are old guns as we know, but boy do they feel powerful and sound powerful as hell, something that was extremely lacking in GTA IV. Also the controls, movement, animations, physics, gore, and so on...oh man..GTA V is using all those improvements from RDR and MP3 and i just can't stop getting so damn hyped about that.

I think if V had a two weapon at a time thing going, it would make it a lot easier to integrate a larger amount of weapons in the game.

I never really like the system they used in IV and SA. The different weapon sets, I feel like it ties them down a little, but I might be crazy too. Haven't been checked for that.

You thought the guns in RDR sound better than the guns in RDR? I thought they sounded about the same. wink.gif

Wow, you're definitely in the minority there. Who wants to go on a rampage with only two guns? Even real life rampage murderers carry more than that.

I loved initiating fist fights in RDR and going up a ladder onto a building to only have your opponents follow you. What would follow was an intense fight where the objective was to knock each other off the building to a gruesome death. It had to be one of the funnest things I've ever done it a game.

I just want the ability to tie or handcuff people and put them in the trunk like you could do with the lasso and horse in RDR.

I figure i'd post this here, new thread absolutely not nessecary.

I've been playing some Max Payne 3 again, and this was right after having played and finshed my third playthroughs of RDR and Undead Nightmare. It's then that you really notice how much looser and smoother Max's movement is compared to John's in RDR. And i loved how the guns sound in RDR, especially with this headphones on, with an awesome powerful thump when shooting, but boy..it's even better in MP3. Now i'm even more happy that all these things from MP3 are moving over to GTA V, it's gonna be awesome. It's great to see the big improvements in Rockstar's games. From GTA IV to RDR, to Max Payne 3. You really see the big improvements when you play those games close after eachother.

I think we can all agree that we were in awe when we walked past the group of kids playing football in the favela, in MP3.

Something similar like a group of guys playing basketball on vespucci beach would be a nice addition.

Yeah man, i liked that part a lot. Great attention to details, and if we are to believe these previews, there will be plenty of awesome little things happening. I bet there's gonna be a sh*tload to see when it comes to little details. LS will be full of life....i'm gonna need a second life to just explore everything there is to see in this game, lol.

There's one thing that you can try but most people don't realise. You can tag more than just living things in Dead Eye. Like bottles, lamps, lights, pots etc. They sort of hint at this when you're shooting the skull during West Dickens' demonstration & the shooting gallery behind MacFarlane's House.

I don't think we'll get to tag enemies in V, but closer to MP3's bullet time. Gotta keep something back for RDR 3.

Yes, but I soon realized it was just a non interactive animation. In fact, you rarely come into contact with normal npc's in MP3 during actual gameplay, most are 'just out of reach'.

Off Topic a bit: I think R* North have a lot to prove with V, because RDR made the San Diego studio almost on a par with the mighty North. Technically IV is a much more challenging game to make compared to RDR, but for beauty, polish & overall quality of its features, I'd give the award to San Diego's RDR. I know they all work on each other's games & they'd never say they are in competition with each other. That's why five years & why everything including the kitchen sink seems to be in V.

Judging by the screenshots, trailers and what previews said, Rockstar North clearly learned a whole lot from Rockstar San Diego, with the countryside and wildlife but also the little details. But let's not forget that IV was already full of awesome details, nah, i have great faith in Rockstar north that they'll deliver.

Man just now in chapter 4 of MP3 i was shooting this baddie with a MP5, no bullet time activated and his body simply didn't fall to the ground right away, cause the bullets kept hitting his body and it looked awesome. Kinda hard to explain..but maybe this is the right word, the body was simply twitching or shaking while getting riddled with bullets, and then he fell to the ground. That's the kind of stuff you see in mafia movies as well. I don't think i'm making sense, so watch the end clip of the movie Scarface here, spoilers for the ones who haven't seen it...in which case......no comment, lol.

THAT kind of stuff is what i want to see in GTA V too when i put a dude full of lead.

I also really like how close the camera is to max when you aim with guns. The previews of GTA V spoke about a camera that was more far away from the character than before..i hope they only mean IV as that example..cause it would be great to have it like its in MP3.

I think the twitching is the actual force of the bullet which was one of MP3's main selling points (every bullet modelled). It is the closest thing to a proper 3D shooting gallery, there are so many objects & assets that can be affected (if not destroyed) by your bullets. During my recent session with the game, I've been doing things like shoot dodging/diving through panes of glass while shooting a close enemy, pausing the game & doing that 360 degree pan around. All the glass flying, seeing the bullets in mid-air, just frozen in time, it's the closest to Matrix gunplay in gaming, it just never gets old experimenting. This is why there are so many unskippable loading screens disguised as cutscenes (good job they were top notch) & why we're unlikely to get anything close to that in V, unfortunately. Next gen though, who knows?

Hah, this guy prefers gunsounds in Red Dead Revolver over Red Dead Redemption. Get a load of this guy.
