MosquitoSmasher
I've started my third plathrough of RDR again, and damn it's still such a gem of a game. I recently also finished my second playthrough of GTA IV and now while playing RDR again, i noticed the many improvements and changes. While playing i've been thinking alittle about the things that GTA V could definitely use from RDR and MP3. Some things are well known and i realize that, so i don't want to hear any 'we already know this.....kinda stuff. . It's just cool to discuss this, i'd say. let's see: - John actually taking the revolver out of his holster or a rifle/shotgun from his back. And in MP3 Max actually holds onto the shotgun when he has a handgun or uzi in his other hand. Awesome details, how could this be handled in GTA V? Will the character magically have the gun in his hands as soon as you select it from the weapon wheel? And will the character keep holding a shotgun in his hands or will it be gone as soon as you equip a handgun or uzi or whatsoever? And in MP3 you only had the choice between a few guns, i was talking to a friend about this and he wants it ultra realistic in GTA V. He wants to see exactly what you have in MP3 in the weapon wheel or even more realistic. What would work best for the game in your opinion? - In GTA IV when you'd shoot a NPC in the legs, he'd fall to the ground and stand up and crouch-walk away, which was cool. But in RDR, a NPC actually walks with a limp when he gets shot in the leg. But i don't recall this happening in MP3. Or am i wrong? I also recall some people in RDR that are lying on the ground, because they can't walk..still firing off a few last rounds at you. Another dude that i had shot in his legs tried to crawl away from me. All of this SHOULD be in GTA V, wouldn't you agree? Definitely one of the first things i'm going to try out. Max Payne 3 wasn't a openworld/sandbox game, but RDR was..V should definitely get this. - Strangers in RDR like the guy with the flying machine and random encounters like the poor soul that comitted suicide, or a dude stabbing a woman....that has been confirmed for GTA V, hasn't it? I don't mean these examples of RDR, but simply that Strangers and Random encounters will happen. I recall that strangers would make a return and the random encounter was explained in a bit more details...about in the middle of nowhere and you encounter a abandoned car with bodies all around it...approach it and a side mission starts. What kind of strangers do you expect to see? - RDR had waving flags and such and it looks awesome, MP3 actually had clothes that waved in the wind, crazy sh*t really. Also the wrinkles on Max's back would wave/move around...crazy attention to detail. I wonder if we'll see this in GTA V. That GTA V's attention to detail is pretty insane already is a fact...look at some screenshots where you actually see the arteries on the arms/hands of these characters. I'm gonna continue with RDR tomorrow and any cool details i'll find that would be great for GTA V, i'll post them here. Let me hear your opinion on what things from RDR and MP3 you want to see return or improved/changed in GTA V. MosquitoSmasher
While playing RDR today i got to a very quiet area in the mountains, the ambient music stopped playing for a while and there was just total silence. I only heard the wind, i heard some animals and some other general nature sounds, its moments like these that you just can't call this a game anymore...it's really not doing it any justice, this is art. I'm sure we'll get plenty of that blissful silence in the countryside of GTA V.

ALeSsAnDrO
My take on your questions: 1. Realistic gun handling/carrying: possible but not likely. Why? Three different characters, a ton of weapons (more than RDR or MP3). A lot of work to make this happen properly. 2. NPC behavior when shot: definitely. Don't see a reason why this can't be in GTA V. 3. Random encounters have been confirmed. I expect smaller, more generic missions, kinda like Fallout 3 quests. 4. Detailed clothing physics were at some point present in GTA V but seem to have been scaled back significantly almost to non-existent, judging by latest trailers. Performance sacrifice? Probably. When i want to get my free-roaming on, i want to carry a sh*tload of guns with me. 4- Really? So the first trailer had this but the latest not? I never noticed any of it in the first place...gonna have to check it out probably.
MosquitoSmasher
I almost forgot how many outfits you can unlock in RDR by finding items and what not, wouldn't that be cool for GTA V? Remember how the previews spoke about the underwater exploration and finding items? In RDR you find scraps that will eventually unlock a new outfit for you. Even though we can simply buy clothing in GTA V....wouldn't that be cool anyway? That you unlock unique clothing by finding items underwater and wherever? cuoreviola89
- Horses. And a ranch! Trevor could buy it (they said each character has his own preferences and options) and he could also ride horses and guide them into the ranch (it could be a sort of minigame/secondary activity). As this game will be made of countryside for 7/8, horses wouldn't clash at all to me. They already built horses phisics in RDR, so it's just a matter of putting them into the game..not a big effort. - The possibility of tying people (maybe handcuffs would be more proper) and to put them on your mean of transport. In RDR it was the back of the horse, here could be the trunk. Think of all the possibilities this feature could bring us! - One (or more) character could smoke after a bit you don't move. It happened sometimes in RDR multiplayer, it was a cool alternative to the usual useless stretching.. I see Trevor a lot doing this - I'd also like a Hunting secondary activity (still Trevor). Don't know how it could work (the skin selling wouldnt fit with the type of game) but in general it would be cool and entertaining. - Cinemas that show short movies (we're in Hollywood, it can't miss!) LeFox
I want these: -When he pulls out a small weapon like a pistol or uzi, he should pull it out front the back or front of the pants, for the big guns, should be pulled from behind shirt or jacket... this will make it so you wouldn't be filled up with shiz loads of weapons around you. The one about putting people in the trunk, which is a feature in Sleeping Dogs by the way, would be awesome for GTA V yes. You could be doing all kinds of crazy sh*t with victims. Hey who knows...maybe they implemented this feature, i mean...they haven't nearly said all there is to say about this game and its new features. I agree about the horses, if they are put into the game and that would make sense..please let us use them.
Grand Theft Savage
I literally just put MP3 down about 4 minutes ago. Other than the weapons and the gun mechanics, I don't think I want anything from MP3 in GTA V. And probably the Gang Wars thing from the multiplayer, but I'm expecting a mode like that to be GTA V. As for Red Dead Redemption, I think we should be able to kidnap people. Loved that feature, though I didn't use it much. It just made the player feel like they could do practically anything. And I definitely want the wounding system from RDR. You could shoot someone in the leg, they wouldn't be able to walk straight anymore. If you damage someone's hand while they are wielding a rifle, they wouldn't be able to pick it back up and would use their handgun. That sh*t was epic. d3ex2
I want RDR on PC. Aww, shame. Redemption is my favourite game this generation. What good is your 1080p resolution at 60fps when you can't play amazing games like this? Can't have it all, eh? So called master race __________ Anyway, I love the weapon wheel from RDR and Max Payne 3. We know V has a weapon wheel with 12 slots ( I think). I prefer the Max Payne 3 wheel with only 4 weapons. Feels more realistic. If you have a pistol out but you have a rifle then Max will carry the rifle in his hand while firing the pistol. I wish GTA V had this. I think redemption had it. He had a rifle on his back and a pistol in his holster but you wouldn't see him carrying any other weapons. We also know that V has random encounters which will be so much fun. I don't really know what else. I want horses in V and I hope the gun mechanics are like max paynes. Feels and sounds amazing when shooting. IV looked and sounded like sh*t. To be honest they're both at fault I see equal amounts of people who start the arguements if people would learn to ignore posts like his it would never progress into a console war so basically just by saying what you did you fuled the fire... In my honest opinion the majority of PC gamers act superior compared to us who still stick to consoles. Either way I don't understand why there is so much immurity everywhere. Whether you play on a PC or a PS3 you're still playing the same f*cking game it makes no difference just because your personal preferance is for one doesn't make it any better than the other. But back on topic My main concern is bullet wounds from RDR or MP3. Other than that the hip fire from MP3 also made me ecstatic when I first heard it. It'll make running and gunning so much easier. I hated how when you aim down the sights in GTA IV you would slow down you could hold X / A while aiming and you'd run but it was tedious trying to hold X / A while using the right stick to aim... OmegaEvolution
The only things i really want from RDR are the multipayer co-op activities and challenges. I want more stuff to do with my friends because as GTAIV as demonstrated once modders take over playing with friends if all the legitimate player has. Hugef1
Ok, here's something. When you waded into water (or it rained) in RDR, your clothes LOOKED wet. It had it slightly in IV, but in RDR it looked great.
