I know you have Top Gear in the us as well, but as far as I'm aware it's nowhere near as popular. You have the uk version too, but even that probably isn't very popular, but some of my American friends & family have said it is prefered over the American version. So anyway, How many people are going to attempt a Top Gear style challenge? For example, traveling across the entire map in a single vehicle, or specific type of vehicle? Something that isn't very suited to the off road terrain you'll be traversing? Or only giving yourself $1000 to modify your car or something? If we can buy cars from a showroom, you could give yourself a really low budget & maybe buy a terrible car & see how well you do? & of course there is Free Roam Multiplayer! I don't know what features will make it over into that, but I'm sure you could do similar things, hopefully you can use Pay'n'Sprays, but I don't know what else, but it would make for a good time with some of your friends wouldn't it!? Post your ideas guys for good challenges! Lets see what we can come up with? I'll be saving them all & revisiting these ideas come September! r0eladn Posted May 8, 2013 Share Posted May 8, 2013 I dont know the answer to your specific wish there but i would like it for that kind of stuff to be possible, to be given the freedom of doing that kind of creative stuff. Just like earlier today someone talked about his friends entering a cargo plane and then him flying it somewhere. There should be room for creative scenarios like that. Would add great gameplay value to the game. Yeah, no real question, but more of a topic to see who is interested in the idea, & a place for people to share some cool ideas? I've watched every episode of Top Gear too, but even I struggle for some original ideas too. The Cars vs Trains idea is awesome, but not all challenges will really be possible in GTA V, Trains probably loop around LS, you could race it, but it wouldn't be an A-Z race. Same with the Amphibious Car Challenge, that would be awesome, but we won't be able to do that. Personally me & my friend will be going from the southern most point of Los Santos, probably in the Docks somewhere(?), to the Northern most point at the top of the map, or hell even the Lighthouse, depending on how far away it is. Not sure exactly what I'm going to do besides car vs train challenge. Maybe getting an off-road car and try to reach the top of the Mt. Chilliad within a specific time. Or.. you could just ride the train, and check how long it takes for it to travel from station X to station Y. Then try to beat the time with a car. Starting soon after the release of GTA V I will be producing a machinima style show in GTA V based off of Top Gear. I have been planning this for a long time and shot some test footage in IV already using mods and cheats on the PC. Now seeing as how this game is only releasing for consoles first I will be recording it off the Xbox and so it will take an extra amount of time. My team has been planning this since the announcement of V and we will be happy to show you all when our first episode is ready, we will be putting all the cars we find interesting enough to spotlight on V through all sorts of challenges and showing different features on them. For instance one example would be road trips through the map of V showing the adventure in detail from the beginning to the end in ways you never have seen a GTA game in such detail before. Get ready for fun high adrenaline and crazy sh*t that even Top Gear cant do in real life, like crash testing, jumping height, car buoyancy, and more. Anybody who would be interested in joining the Gear Theft Auto team please do send me a PM as we are taking recruitment's at this time for on screen hosts and off screen idea men, you will be credited for anything you help us with. douggoud Posted May 8, 2013 Share Posted May 8, 2013 I'll definitely be re-enacting this from the Robbing an Albanian Bank challenge (because I have no idea what it actually was called, lol) Plus a lot of others, one thing that I brought up in the Bugatti thread was racing the Veyron('s representation) vs one of the fighter jets like they did in Top Gear (or rather some one else brought it up and I used the Top gear clip as an example).
