'Only' 1200 cars? That's a lot, homie. Incredibly lot.

They all better be Premium.

I wouldn't count on it.

I doubt, in the space of 3 years, they've been able to model like 750 cars in premium, considering they could barely manage 200 in the space of 5 years...

Gran Turismo 6 you say?

Well, there goes another £40 confused.gif

While I'm excited, I don't know if I'll get this full price yet.

It really depends on how good the single player is, which disapointed me in 5, how many premiums there are, Personally I'd trade some of the clone/duplicate cars we have, (like the various Trim levels with no real diffrence to preformance we have, mostly standard cars to so we don't see the diffrent interiors I don't need 20 diffrent FD3S options, from before the facelift alone tounge2.gif ) for more premiums, as well as what's new to the customization, personally hoping for more options to preformance, Engine swaps and drivetrain swaps like forza (Maybe more options like Engines from other manufacters in cars) would be nice, maybe a Livery editor, but I can live without that last thing.

Today's press release states: "GT6 for PlayStation 3 will bring new levels of authenticity to 'the Real Driving Simulator' as well as introducing stunning new tracks and cars and a revised user interface.

"A new compact game engine will improve operation and increase the flexibility to expand it with downloadable content."

Series creator Yamauchi says: "It is amazing to think that it is 15 years since we first released Gran Turismo. Things have changed a lot since then and now Gran Turismo 6 is a further evolution of my dream. We're pleased to deliver GT6 to PlayStation 3 as we have a very loyal community on that platform.

"However, we have refactored the game to make it very flexible and expandable, with a view to making many future developments. I am very pleased with everything about the new game and the new additions, but the launch will be only the beginning for GT6. The game will continue to develop throughout its life. I already have many ideas for things I want to achieve in the next 15 years of Gran Turismo."

At a special 15th anniversary event taking place at Silverstone Circuit today, Yamauchi discussed the game further.

I've only played a cumulative ~25 minutes of the entire GT franchise, and it was from GT5. Just racing on the smooth Texas-speedway-esque map. Not only am I not really into racing games, but I never got to play GT as a franchise enough to get into it. The only racing franchise I play is MC.

I may, however, get the PS4 version of this at some point much later down the line.

Confirmed for PC too? There, all you high and mighty gamers can have the next gen experience today. Whooptie f*cking doo.

I'm really excited now hearing about custom parts. I hope it isn't "custom parts" like GT has shown in the past. I don't want Saint's Row level of customization... but at least a little NFS Underground styled modification system.

What? o_O

It's not coming for PC... "GT6 will launch on the PlayStation 3 during the holiday period of this year."

Oh, you think that the "Multi Device Compatibality" means that it'll come for PC? biggrin.gif

No..

I'm surprised Lazyboy hasn't yet posted in here. ._.

Anyway, looks like I won't be getting GT5 after all, but daaaamn, this looks unbelievable. I can't believe it's on PS3. I'll think about this.

From what I've read they will still use the old cars and add new ones. I had hoped they fixed the biggest issue I had with GT5, standard cars (and tracks). They seem to still prefer quantity over quality, I don't need more than a 1000 different cars, just give me 400 premium ones that are different (not counting 10 cars with a different skin).

Talk about it we don't need 10 diffrent R33s that preform the same with just a slightly diffrent name in the menu lol. Save space PD. This is coming from a huge car fan.

I mean it worked (Having a crap load of what I call, 'Clone cars') in GT4 better than GT5 because they were able to do it and have all the cars on the same scale graphically, but if they could squeze more into it by geting rid of them why not.

But I don't really think it's a Space issue as much as it is a time issue I guess. Though I think some of those standard cars in GT5 should also be premium either because A, they're important, or B, they have a car that's 90% the same on the list.

But whatever I can look at it as geting 300-400-ish cars, This is what I'm hoping to get for the Premiums this time which may happen since it seems some standards are geting upgraded like the Countach, as well as new Comers like the X-Bow...I might buy the game for the X-Bow alone, for the $60, and nearly 1000 sub par looking ones for free.

Is it bad that the most exiteing thing for me right now is the KTM X-bow making it in? Dunno why I just find it fun. It also gives me hope for things like the Ariel Atom and BAC Mono makeing it in and other Street Legal Open wheel cars as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about the new physics engine and what not, but this is bordering unacceptable. What the hell happened, PD? They used to be a company that didn't compromise on any front, and had an almost uncanny attention to detail both regarding their vehicles, and the physics. I loved the driving mechanics in GT5, but why on earth they still insist on reusing nine year old car models, baffles me to no end. I cannot wrap my head around it. Nor the fact that they thought that releasing a new installment this soon after GT5, and not making it a PS4 launch title, was a good idea.

Well I can get why they aren’t going PS4 right away.

With the last gen of consoles, there where issues abound, allot of people are skeptical, and while allot of people will be buying them, there’ll still be more people on the PS3 to get GT6, dunno about you but I’m not going to up and get a PS4 for some odd $800-ish bucks on launch for one game alone.

I do agree on the Nine year old car models, I mean I get that the amount of Detail in the premium cars was insane, and took allot of time, but Jesus they could have delayed GT5 further if they needed to, especially since I mentioned how many of those Standard cars are just clone cars? Allot of them with a Premium version, just use the same model add some diffrent badges and some small details and BAM, I mean come on there's a premium R32, 33, and 34 and like 20 Standards of them all together, if not more, and let's face it they aren't widely diffrent it shouldn't be hard to make them premium as well, copy and paste the premium model and make edits to badge and other small extior details and maybe some minor interior details as needed.

Yeah unless I see some major improvements from GT5, I won't be geting this on the launch day, both in terms of allot more Premium cars, as well as allot of new features. Basically hoping for a jump like the one from GT3 to GT4, not expecting the jump graphically (as GT5 alone pushed the PS3 to the limit) but in terms of gameplay, I want to see a big jump or this will go on the back burner untill a price drop for me.

Will there be “Standard Cars” in GT6?

We won’t be making all the Standard cars from GT5 into Premium models, and we won’t make all of the GT5′s Standard cars fully “Premiumized”.

Up until now, we used to categorize them as Standard and Premium because there were functional differences between them: some of the Standard models might not have tuning parts, or couldn’t be used in Photo Mode. That will all be cleared so every model can be used in Photo Mode, and every car can have parts fitted for it.

In terms of graphics quality, the bad quality Standard models we’ve updated so they look better.

I just hope they have better interiors than the non existent ones they added via patch.

Dosen't even have to be fully functional to please me at this point just more than the black void.

As long as the don't add to the standard list I'm fine in all actuallity. I found it odd that they did in GT5.

Most notibly the Countach, the Diablo race car they had, the Veyron and that's it I think but I found it odd that they didn't make

all of the cars they added to the game Premium. (As I don't rember any of those in GT4, though I do rember a Diablo in GT3...I think dunno

only played it once or twice.)

God damn this game looks amazing. I might just have to hook up my brothers PS3 in my room and cheat on my 360 or my 'Infinity" if its out before this GT.

No.

Well that’d be a major step back seeing as they were eventually patched into GT5, but like I said it was just a non-functioning (As in no Dashboard and functioning Gages) Black void with Windows. Oh well if I do pick this up and the Standards don't even have that I won't care to much, seeing as with Standards I played like I did in GT4 with the behind the car camera since I couldn't stand using the bumper or hood cam, or the patched in nerfed cockpit view.
