MosquitoSmasher
I liked it how you could have the camera so close to Niko, maybe it wasn't ideal for the player's vision, but i just really digged the camera view from that point. Then there were several other views and that's good, there should always be more. Then RDR came out and i wanted to move the camera close to John while he was on foot but also on horse and then i found out this wasn't possible at all. Max Payne 3 came out and same story, only one camera view. Now i am a bit worried that GTA V will be the same and that the back button will be used for something totally different. (I'm playing on 360, i guess select for PS3) and that would suck bigtime. I don't like it at all when the camera is so far away from the character. I have only read the CVG, Kotaku and USA Today previews and watched IGN Australia's preview, but nothing was said about the camera points. Did any of the other previews talk about this? Or has it already been talked about in previous previews and that i just missed this? This might not sound like a big deal for a lot of people i'm sure, but boy i'd really be dissappointed. Sure you could say "But in GTA it's about cars a lot, so of course there were multiple camera views" and that would be true, but why not be able to zoom closer in a game like RDR where you are on horseback a lot? TheMisanthrope
Damn I didn't even think about that. Yeah GTA IV I would always use the over the shoulder camera view, you could see everything in better detail. That is what disapointed me with RDR and MP3 I mean I got used to it but different camera views is something I'd really enjoy. And now I too will be disapointed if they don't include it. Once again we'll just have to get used to it but now I'm worried about it.

However, maybe we have nothing to worry about, cause a 3D GTA without multiple camera views like a hood view, a more closer and a more further away view is just weird. That's not going to happen,so either you only get to change the camera views while you are in the car, or it will be fine for both. I do wish some preview would tackle this subject though. ChocoFrosty
I can't believe they didn't give any view options in RDR. That still bothers me more than I care to say. I will be absolutely heartbroken if they don't give a couple camera position options [while on foot] in V. I mean, can you imagine if a GTA game only had one view option while driving a car? Oh f*ck no! Man i can count the time i switch between hood view and behind the car view, and sometimes the cinema view as well. The cinema view is f*cking awesome, bring that back Rockstar. I'm playing RDR now and i noticed that all the buttons are used. Back is used to enter the screen for consumables, kit and provisions. So there probably was no way to have it i guess. Not sure about Max Payne 3. Edited May 8, 2013 by MosquitoSmasher
Dominik1411
in GTA IV the 1.view was too close in my opinion and the 2.view was too far
HoboDealer
Good point, but RDR wasn't developed by R*north so maybe camera views are just a north thing? While we're on the subject of camera views; did anyone else hate how when driving cars in IV, the camera was slightly to the left of the vehicle? It really bugged me! Arran B
I hope they bring back the classic 3rd person view for vehicles, as opposed to the slightly off-centre camera in IV. I didnt mind it in IV, but an option would be nice
Honest Bill
I agree. I like the tighter camera and used it all the time in IV. it would be a shame if they didn't have it in V. I think they should just give you an adjustable cam with a lock feature for both on foot and vehicles. That way everyone can customise it to their preference. While we're on the subject of camera views; did anyone else hate how when driving cars in IV, the camera was slightly to the left of the vehicle? It really bugged me! Jeez...how i wish there was a multi-quote option on this forum. How do people even do that on this forum? You are right about that though, and neither was Max Payne 3, but still. I've been thinking alittle about it and the back/select button in GTA IV wasn't used for anything else, so i think it should be ok in GTA V. What button was the 'put up middlefinger' mapped to again? As for RDR, it really used all buttons as far as i can see, so it almost looks like a change camera option was available and i guess they just thought it was nessecary. In GTA V it's very nessecary, because of many different factors. @Honest Bill That would be a perfect solution. Very similar to Skyrim, where you just press two buttons at once and you can zoom in/out as you please, something along those lines. That would be super. @Buffalo Soldier You mean first person while walking as well? That could be really cool, but i always want to see my character. So they should make it optional, but never mandatory, that will be the death of GTA IMO. By the way, LA Noire is another game, although not fully developped by Rockstar, that has only one view. It's a bit worrisome really. Especially because it could be the case that you CAN select multiple views when inside a car, i believe that for 100%, but cannot when on foot, but that wouldn't make any damn sense.
