there are no cars. and like in GTA4 the street lights are flying in the air cause the object dont get rendered.

 

Not complaining. But I wonder if they have reduced all that stuff again. It would be really good if you were able to see cars even when up in the air this time

No idea. But in the screenshot where they are standing on the tower, the furthest hills look pretty bad. Like a poor photoshop job. They are just black lines.

Looks fine to me. Just the outline of the mountain in the background. It is night time, of course you won't be able to see it clearly. The distance is greater looking at that angle than looking straight down. Also the beach doesn't have any roads on it, that is just a pathway.

 

Of course, I didn't notice anything wrong with GTA IV's draw distance. San Andreas was pretty obvious though.

In that 2nd photo of the plane over the beach, there is no road, so there wont be any cars.

There is a bike path along the beach, however.

its not about polishing. it seems like they have reduced. so they wont bring it up again by polishing ( if they actually reduced it)

I don't think it's reduced. We don't know which screens are from the beta (early stages) and which one's are recent. They did say its been improved to 5 miles, so why reduce it unless they need to reduce it to help another feature implemented into the game.

Read my last line. I said unless they have to implement more features in the game colgate.gif

 

 

I know that. But it's not 100% known yet why they put the for sale sign in the first trailer. For all we know, Rockstar could have said it wasn't in the game just to see reaction and then announce it again to get the hype back up again. They have a wonderful strategy you know.

You seem to be pretty big on everything that's related the game's graphics. And as always; it looks fine to me, I don't see where you're coming from as the draw distance in other recent shots is just as good as in previous ones. Besides, this isn't even the final "built".

was my idea too.

 

still I hope the draw distance of the objects and cars will be like in the first screen. to me it would look pretty weird if we have to fly over they city again and see only empty streets at day and flying lights at night

If anything there will be the same amount of pedestrian in the streets at the same time as in IV, maybe a bit more if they can somehow make them work.

actually they said it will be even less peds. but for realism reason. on LAs streets there are way less people walking on the streets than in NY for example. in LA almost everyone drives with their cars

Fine with me, and it makes sense and NY is the one known for busy streets. Let's hope the masses can accept that without starting a riot orly.gif

Exactly. No open-world game renders cars at full quality from high up, they use sprites because of lag. Remember people, 2006 consoles.

As for the post above me, same thing, you aren't expecting models to be high def even 500m away, the blur is to hide the LOD's, aka low quality distance models. I think it's pretty awesomely done.

In the first screenshot, he was just closer to the street. You have to keep in mind, the bank tower in the second screenshot is the tallest building in the game.

Yeah and the demo builds are ALWAYS a few months older than the day we see it.

Don't use the trailer's graphics as evidence. That's not what the final product will look like. More than likely it'll look like the screenshots from yesterdau. The recent screens have aliasing issues, but who cares?
