2019Redifiv/2020Modifiv Posted May 8, 2013 Share Posted May 8, 2013 At first I was thrilled to learn about the new character switching system. Lately I have been having some doubts though. Look, we know that we will be able to change instantly between the three characters while in free-roam. However, we don't know if we will ever be able to have all three characters present at the same place. Rockstar has said that each character lives his own independent life, but what if every time we change the following thing happens : Every time we attempt to move a character closer to the other character, and then switches to the second character, that character is doing something in a different place. The point being, that the three characters can never meet in free-roam because their individual lives keep leaving them in different positions every time you switch ? Thoughts ? GrandMaster Smith Posted May 8, 2013 Share Posted May 8, 2013 I'm pretty sure they'll let you call eachother to hangout so you'll stay around eachother when you between switch characters. R* ain't stupid.. they will know people will want all three characters near each other and lets be honest once the characters are near each other they will most likely hang out and help your chaos independently ... as they know each other, they won't let anyone hurt you. Tobias_Rieper Posted May 8, 2013 Share Posted May 8, 2013 I don't think they would teleport instantly just because you're not playing as them for 2 seconds. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. I think at the most, they'll just start to wander off on foot or find / steal a vehicle. But since they exist at all times in free roam, they should and better be interactive with each other. I want to be able to position all three characters and then create chaos, while switching dynamically between the three of them. I mean it would not make any sense to restrict the player in a way that would reduce the appeal of the gameplay in such a dominating fashion. I was also thinking that if we switch characters enough we will begin to see repeated scenes, if in fact they are randomly set. I'm hoping wherever you leave one character, that you can meet up with him using another character, by going to the same general location where you left the first character.
