Fuckoutdawhey
I believe in the next GTA you will be able to fly between cities across the US. Not physically fly yourself, but board a passenger plane and then it loads to a new city. So you can go from Vice City to Liberty City or Los Santos. ~INDIO~
its like they're making their last game and its just so perfect. That's why they're the best. They care more about their games being as close to perfection as possible than money. Who else does that nowadays?

CommonSeb
I'll withhold my judgement until the game releases to decide if it's "perfect". It looks amazing, but at the same time I expect the usual technical issues like pop-in and slow-down. That, and I hope that all of the features are decent, I feel like they shoe-horned in the business and property aspects. Mere technical issues can be fixed. The problem is that GTA V as a concept will be extremely difficult to surpass. Multiple protagonists that can be switched between on the fly, an absurdly big map that surpasses all that came before it by a long shot, underwater environments, planes, car customization, weapon customization, property purchasing, mission planning, stats, special abilities, etc. Is there anything V doesn't do? Unless Rockstar starts really thinking outside of the box, future GTAs will only be able to refine what V started. I consider this a luxury problem for now When the last set of previews hit I could not believe what I was reading. I still have a hard time believing that all this can be done but I'll just keep on waiting like I've never waited for something before.
Durden
Every console generation has a GTA that ends with a bang. This final console-ending GTA game is always the best f*cking game ever, according to the trend of SA and now V. Just imagine how good the GTA will be that ends the PS4/X720 lifecycle. I believe that will be the GTA with multiple cities, not to mention near photorealistic graphics. What were Libery City Stories and Vice City Stories too you? Werent those originally made for PSP and then ported to ps2 for extra sales? I think LCS was, don't know about VCS. However they still had the a good amount of content, in ways bigger then GTA SA. Regardless, it is undenyable that SA was the greatest GTA of the PS2 era with all its content. The Stories GTA games are not only PSP ports, but weren't nearly ad revolutionary as SA in terms of overall gameplay

creed200569
There are ALWAYS more ways to make the next GTA better like their dream was to put all GTA cities in one game. That would be beyond amazing especially if all the cities had the same amount of detail as they are putting in GTA 5, WOW. I cant even imagine how amazing that would be. I cant wait to see what exciting plans they have for DLC for this game.
Hotband
again, dont judge the game until youve played it. GTA5 could turn out a total flop for all we know. 95% likely it wont, but the possibility is still out there. No it won't.
epicluca
Better Graphics, Bigger location, iron out the glitches and things we didn't like, even more cars and guns, more interiors
VegaLA
I dare say many people will find flaws with GTA V. They certainly did with IV but I still enjoyed it. That said I had no desire to play through a second time. To answer your question though I dare say the Housers will try to suceed where David Jones failed. Anyone remember APB? I can see Rockstar already mapping out a GTA online world incorporating all the locations we've already played and expanding the world in the future. Can you imagine constantly living the life of a con artist in Vice City, or a Mafia mobster in LC...or even none of the above...maybe a cop tracking down a serial killer who moves city to city to stay one step ahead of the police. I think thats where Rockstar wil look to in the future.
DeafMetal
lol I've thought about this for a while too. Hopefully with the next gen, they'll smarten up and will add features instead of removing them.
blakeney
By having music that isn't by Kendrick Lamar That is like the 3rd time i have seen a similar post by you on this type of thread Ok ok we get it, you don't like Kendrick Lamar... great, it's not like this is GTA:Kendrick Lamar.... or he is even being massively promoted (aka pushed down our throats) on tv etc, why the hate dude? I'm sure there's a good % of people that dislike your taste in music too... that's life... Especially with music, there are so many genres and sub genres with break away genres following them, it's an absolute certainty for every 10 people that dig it, there are 100 that cant stand it (no matter what genre, band or movement). Death2Drugs
Next-gen consoles will probably provide Rockstar with much more opportunity to work on the game. We'll see.
S1LV3R_W0LF
How to top it? There are plenty of ways. New game engine adapted for Next gen visuals, that allow better textures, more NPC's and no more memory limitations, lots of destructible environments, more interiors, more features, more missions, bigger map maybe including more then one city, maybe a all state, more traffic, more customization ... i don't know there is always something new that can be added and they know pretty well what and how. My guess is that the next GTA will be released in like 6 to 8 years and will be another blast.

r0eladn
A few options would be good: (all next gen ofcourse, PS4/X720) A. A MMO GTA (massive) B. Release 3-6 GTA's, from beginning of next-gen till end. Each new game adds a new piece of the map, either expanding the former map or the possibility of travelling to the other map by transport. Each new game adds missions that can take place in the newest piece of map or older maps.
Hayze
I didn't read through the 4 pgs of comments so idk if anyone said this but if Rockstar ever wants to top their last GTA, or any game ever in my opinion... What they need to figure out is how to get full San Andreas, Liberty City and Vice City (in whatever current gen rendition they make) in one game with an MMO quantity of players online at once. Have single player seamlessly merged with multi and they win... until they figure out how to top that. *EDIT* hmmm guess the comment above me was sending as i was typing

123-bob
But its not like Gta IV topped San Andreas... even when the GTA IV trailers were coming out i wasnt expecting it to beat SA at all.... i knew from the trailers that gameplay wise it was a step back, but GTA V looks absolutly incredible and im confident it will be the best GTA yet

infiniteammo
Carcer City would be a good turn, Manhunt, it's been mentioned in every GTA since III. Even the Stories ones I believe, not sure about Chinatown Wars though, never finished that one. It'd be a hard one to do, if you go by Manhunt it's a fairly bombed out ruined industrial city, kind of hard to do a lot of "Wow!" exploring in a city that's at it's best when it's midnight and raining as if the city slash setting itself were some dystopian ruins. Vice City worked because it was the '80s, and basically a huge huge play on anything Michael Mann ever did lol. It successfully captured a period of time, San Andreas recaptured the early '90s the same way, it put you there. I think when you do current-day satire or spoofs it's a bit harder, because you don't immediately think 10 years down the line we'll be going "Remember the shake weight?" like we did with "Remember the pocket fisherman." or "What was with tye dye?", but Rockstar Games has proved time and time again it's quite good with the spoof brush. ^.^ Story wise? It's limitless. But I think honestly Rockstar Games is at it's best when it's capturing the essence of a time period, Vice City and San Andreas really stand out in my mind more than the first top down GTA, III(and LCS), CTW, and IV do. But it's hard to compare *now* with childhood memories. :x

The Made Man
With next Gen coming...They could do a map with FIVE cities and some from DIFFERENT countries. They can do a map that tops Just Cause 2, but more DETAILED. They can fully bring back character customization and add so many features that we can dream about that wouldn't be in a GTA game. Nobody thought scuba diving or submarines would be in a GTA game. Hell the next GTA we might be able to get married and have kids!!!
TotesMagotes
They said that they will one day like to add all three areas liberty vice and San in one game so I'm sure that will be perfection Fu*k That. Cilogy
One of the biggest ways I can imagine R* topping this is making a GTA that includes not only the "multi-city" concept but also a timeline and story that stretches over several decades.
