now i know that we have seen many screenshots and it does look like gta v will look amazing but i wanted to ask what others though

 

looking at videos of red dead redemption i can only say one thing this is one of the most if not most beautiful game i have ever seen and thats saying alot me being a pc gamer and this being on console i don't know what it will look like in a bigger format or when playing it myself but judging from these videos it simply looks breatktaking

 

 

 

 

 

it is likely it will look like this but gta v is a much bigger scale so what do others think will it look similar or in between

 

i felt like posting this after i had watches time lapse videos of red dead redemption i can't beleive how beautiful it is i wish skyrim would use the rage engine like red dead

 

i seriously can't wait for this game now

No, it will look even better! I like the time lapse videos... Come to think of it, almost anything in time lapse looks great

If the final product looks like what we see in the trailers and screenshots, and so far this has been true for all their games....i'd say it's either on par with RDR or actually surpasses it. The countryside looks f*cking beautiful and god...i just love the colourful look. If Rockstar can really manage to make GTA V look that good, being THAT big and with a decent framerate....i'd consider that an immense achievement by them.

I played RDR. I found myself staring at the sky sometimes! The amount of detail in that game was amazing.

its just has more aliasing as in the YT Video. but the rest looks as good as in the vid.

RDR was a great looking game. And yes i expect V to look similar. If it does i will be perfectly happy with the graphics.

Yes and that's a goddamn achievement if you ask me. Never would i have expected that GTA V could actually look on par or better than RDR. Cause if you compare the two in terms of density....the two can't even be compared. We'll have to wait and see though, cause at least two sources are saying the demo didn't look as crisp as the trailers did.

RDR came out 2 years after IV and it was a massive improvement. Now RDR is a 3 year old game, so I would expect it to have improved even more since then. I don't know what the limit is for current technology, but I sure don't think it would look worse.

Good point. But it remains to be seen how it will perform, even Max Payne 3, a linear third person shooter didn't always have a fully stable framerate, but it did look very good. But as for RDR and GTA V...as we all know GTA V is a lot more packed and more full than RDR is, it would make sense that RDR would look and perform a bit better, but who knows...if not...Rockstar does miracles.

Everytime I see this shot from Michael's trailer..my mind tells me that the graphics are the same as RDR so the answer is inbtween but RDR type graphics at most.

Too bad that there wasn't a PC Version of RDR. I would love to have seen cars driving around in RDR (RDR map placed into GTA IV)

The graphics are not the same, they will be better (I'm not talking about Image Quality i.e. Aliasing, Resolution etc)

To my knowledge, RDR does not have any kind of Ambient Occlusion, GTA V, by the looks of it, has SSAO, a Compute Based method for Super Sampled Ambient Occlusion.

 

I cannot believe this game is going to possess such quality and quantity of things, and I don't even know what R* sacrificed instead for.

Do not judge the graphics or clarity of GTA V (Or any video game for that matter) through a compressed YouTube Video.

It's always better to see how the game will actually look through a Direct-Feed Screenshot.
