mikekolesar
My prediction: Will be the same as it was in IV. The issue also pertains to pedestrians. They are on the same console so expect seeing 100 of the same cars during a certain time, in a certain area, jut as you'd see a 100 dukes for 10 mins around the airport in IV
Daniel_KSP
The problem occurs mostly because all the GTA games were developed for consoles, and as we all know, consoles have extremely small amount of RAM memory. It's 512MB for X360 and 256MB for PS3 as far as I remember. And since high amounts of RAM are needed to load many different types of cars, a console can't handle proccessing this and many other things at the same time. If the game had been developed for PC, this problem wouldn't have existed, since PCs have many gigs of memory today. Simply put, it is not a BUG. The problem is caused by the fact that the lead platforms for GTAs are consoles which lack higher amounts of RAM Maybe the problem will stop occuring on PC, if Rockstar ports the game well this time. If it happens, it will be able to use the higher amounts of RAM that PC offers. GTA IV was a crappy port and the game was unable to take advantage of this feature and the issue was still present. Hope R* gets it right GTA V on PC. Edited May 8, 2013 by Daniel_KSP
TakinThyBacon
I was just about to start this thread, it is a major annoyance for me. You want to get somewhere fast and suddenly every soul in the county is driving a Glenmor I'm not saying that its a major issue, but I feel that it is one that could be addressed fairly easily. I understand that they have some limitations with lag when rendering too many different models, but at least give us a variety!
Mokrie Dela
Talking from memory of my modding days, each vehicle was a certian "class" so when you pick up a "luxury" car, more "luxury" cars will spawn. I think it's time they changed that so certain areas had certain cars (truck in industrial) and so there's no longer the class thing going on. If i remember you could edit the file in the games (i'm talkigng before IV) so that all cars were the same class or that a "rumpo" was treated as a "luxury" .... i think lol The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. jogy
HAH I was just going to say that this one spot on the map takes this issue to the extreme The exact location. Exactly, there was definitely some kind of issue in Bohan. I wonder why it's so bad on that little island. Hidden secrets!
AlienWillHeMonsta
Makes me wonder how all this memory juggling is going to be handled when you have the increased number and variety of NPCs, animals, aircraft, modifications...
nealmac
They won't change it. In the gaming world, repetition is used very frequently in order to boost performance. Not just cars, but other things as well. It basically means, the game engine only has to generate each item once.
GTAfan786
It's not a bug, it's RAM issues.
j.hunt
it's not that bad, you won't expect to see to many Ferraris in Blaine County or a AMC Gremlin in Vinewood don't you?
