Someone has tried the game

Well I guess "tried" would be more fair, he has watched someone play it (rockstar staff)

http://www.spill.no/default.aspx?section=a...agenr=1#content yes it is in Norwegian. But I'll do a google translate on it (so yes it will be filled with grammar mistakes)

It's 4 pages long of his experience of the game, and what he saw. So obviously there will be spoilers here. But not huge spoilers.

Ok, under this sentence will be the google translated version of the article, cause I'm too lazy to do a proper translation.

---

There are some rules you must follow if you want to visit Rockstar and watch their games. Rockstar is not like other developers who lodges together thirty journalists in front of a screen showing a game and welcomes questions. Instead I sit alone in a hotel lobby in Chelsea and waiting for a Rockstar representative will pick me up to a room. In space I placed a couch in front of a large screen. On the left side sits a guy and playing Grand Theft Auto V for me, on the right sits another guy and explain to me what is happening on screen.

Rockstar employees have no name, I'm not allowed to interview or quote them, but I can ask questions that are answered. Rockstar want the game to speak for itself. So what does GTA V then?

It's part First and foremost, it is huge. The lesson begins several miles up in the air. We see former Los Santos gang member Franklin, one of the game's three main characters in the door of a helicopter. Franklin jumps out and we fall down while we look around. <- The first part of the game

We glanced towards the coast where we can make out the skyscrapers of Los Santos, his eyes move back to a big lake and a huge mountain. Visibility is huge, it's almost as I hear Playstation 3 console game being demonstrated at groan under the burden of calculating all this on screen.

We are approaching a peak, turns out a parachute and float at a leisurely pace down the mountain to a road and a river far below. I see a weasel who hunts a deer, two of the more expensive it will be possible to hunt in the game. Well down the road, we go to an RV and a couple of guys who are fishing. Two other guys driver and racing against each ATV along a path. Despite the fact that we are out in the wilderness there is plenty going on around us. Many small details everywhere. <---- So yeah, there will be wildlife, weasel and deer atleast.

We switch from Franklin to Trevor, by pressing a button is a circle divided into four parts into the bottom corner - in each section there is a picture of one of the three main characters while the bottom houses the game's multiplayer -

By choosing Trevor camera zooms out and up in the air to kind of put a little picture, locates Trevor and zoom in again, suddenly we are on a beach right at the other side of the map. Sattellittsekvensen is just a cleverly disguised loading screen of course, but the transition feels smooth.

Trevor, the game's meth-selling hillbilly-like savage, waking up in panties on a beach. Around him the dead gangsters from West Coast Gang (as one might encounter in one of the expansion packs for Grand Theft Auto IV), and Trevor has several wounds on the body. Obviously there has been action here.

Rockstar emphasize that we are talking about three completely different people, they have their own finances and do not share weapons, money, equipment or skills. Need money to Trevor have to play as Trevor and raise the money to him, there is no common pot between the three even if one controls all together, but there is an imminent story in the game there are three key people. Rockstar-man compares it with a TV series that often have more than one protagonist.

Back to Trevor, we walk around a bit on the beach and I let myself fascinated by the detailed footprints he leaves behind in the sand. Just as I am fascinated by the ocean. Having swiped a rubber boat near carrying it out on the waves, and we are talking serious waves. Wave Race-type waves. Water effects are brilliant, boat strikes against waves and two jet skis near it also fun in the water. We pass a beach where some grills and party.

It is simply more life everywhere here. Grand Theft Auto IV was also full of people, but most wandered aimlessly around or just standing and hanging. In fives people seem to make more realistic and varied things, people standing and dancing, fishing, eating and so on. It feels more believable.

I get explained that some vehicles houses special equipment. One can find parachutes in flight, for example, or diving equipment in boats. As in this ship. Suddenly Trevor wearing the diving suit and we jump into the water. A whole new world opens up, full of small fish, seaweed, corals and underwater vegetation. The level of detail impressive, especially considering that we were just on the surface surrounded by mountains and beaches, bridges and piers. We swim around a shipwreck and I have explained that Rockstar wants every nook and corner of the map should be explored. Rewards will be everywhere. What kind of rewards they did not say anything about yet.

We meet some sharks and swim up to the surface. Sharks follow and revolve around Trevor, and I hear that we now switch to Michael. I ask what happens if we switch to another character while the person we control is at risk, and get the answers that they are able to normally acceptable on its own, but if you replace the midst of a dangerous situation the person will naturally die.

The map zooms out from Trevor and onto Michael, coming out of a bar in Vinewood - Los Santos version of Hollywood. A crazy lady plague us on a street corner - one of many small bikarakterer one can meet several times during the game - and we saunter on. Past a tourist bus that runs past the homes of movie stars. Rockstar-husband tells me that if you want you can drive the bus as a passenger and have served lots of stories about various celebrities in Vinewood.

We pass a tattoveringssjappe course, we also can visit and eventually ends up outside a cinema where people dressed as movie characters struts around. For me that has been in Hollywood several times it is easy to recognize.

Michael takes up the phone - obviously a smart phone - and take a picture. The menus on the phone screen seems to offer everything from email and web to social media and instagram-like service. As it should be, it certainly plenty of harsellering with contemporary trends in GTA V.

On the map in the lower left corner there appeared a question mark. Incidentally, the map yes. The traditional round map has been square in GTA V. I get no confirmation if this is the final look, it seems convenient as hotel now shifting perspective and content on a regular basis. When you walk around on foot you can see the map from the top down, but if you go into a car changes the perspective of a more obliquely picture - just as it does on modern GPS's. I also noticed that when we were in the air with Franklin map was replaced with horizontal lines - as has the HUD-one in an airplane. Dynamic map, certainly a smart idea.

But back to the question mark, we follow the map into an alley where some paparazzi hanging and shooting. Behind some trash barrels, hiding it in a lady who needs help to escape the papparazzi. We find a car, pick her up, and running wild through the city by scooter-driving Papparazzi in tow.

Back home at the young celebrity we get some money as a thank you for your help and side mission is over. According to Rockstar, this is one of the many side quests, and the young lady we will meet again several times. I get told that they have taken in account the criticism of Grand Theft Auto IV - a big and beautiful world that there was little point in exploring because it was not something that happened or something to discover in it.

Rockstar has developed the dynamic events of Red Dead Redemption where you could meet people who needed help, villains, animals, and other random events all over the map. I also promised far more variety in these missions - I was probably not the only one who got tired of catching the horse for the twentieth time.

It should simply be something to take care of over the game map, a host of different minigames, dynamic events, bihistorier and various rewards and secrets to discover.

While previous Grand Theft Auto games have followed a linear story that leads to a huge contract at the end that serves as a climax to GTA 5 disseminate these climax in the game as various heists. The Heist is an advanced robbery that requires lots of planning ahead and where you have to move all three main characters while the robbery takes place.

I can witness such a robbery, in this mission is a money truck to be stopped and robbed in an alley. The three main characters are gathered outside an old warehouse and Michael show on their mobile phones where to position themselves and what their different roles should be.

Rockstar-man says that you have to make many preparations ahead of a heist. An example of this mission you must obtain one garbage truck and tow both be used in the robbery. You must provide coveralls and masks, plan escape route and so on. Different heist have different forberedingskrav that must be met before we can implement the plan

Something I can not demonstrated here but just told is that some complicated robbery also require the hiring of villains to transport team. You can choose between bad guys with various skills. An inexperienced one is more risky but will return a lower proportion of robbery proceeds while the experienced demand more money. Bad guys who survive will be better and can be rented again in future missions. It is alleged that the skills and configuration of the guys you bring will affect innholdettil dynamic missions, which sounds fairly ambitious.

To this robbery, only the three main characters, and as soon as the plan is reviewed inserted robbery in progress. Here I notice enough new stuff in GTA context: the music while we manage Michael behind the wheel of junk car is not the traditional radio station music but self composed mood music to play sequence.

When I originally heard that GTA V would use their own composed music, I was a little disappointed - the random sound generated by radio stations under the car chases have been one of the highlights of the series - but I must admit that it seems more evocative of the self-composed music as the mission starts. The quiet tones and deep bass builds up nerves and expectations while Michael runs rubbish car into the alley.

Pretty soon the transport and stops at the garbage car blocking the road. The camera switches to Franklin in tow the car in the alley next door, and Franklin we press on the gas and running out of the alley and into the side of the transport. The vehicle tips over and we run out to break the back door with some C4. Michael jumps in and grabs the money, but suddenly popping up police and we take cover.

While the game earlier heists shift between the main characters have for us, we can now choose for themselves who we want to control. We can take control of Trevor sitting on the roof with a sniper rifle or Michael and Franklin who is in hiding and shooting at police.

Since I can not govern itself is not easy to judge the action scenes, but it seems like it flows much better than in fours. Some more Gears of War-like with smooth animations where one runs into cover and shoot the enemies that run in and out of coverage. Police cars exploding, reinforcements arrive and it is reasonably hot time with four out of five for bright star in the upper right corner.

Not until Trevor clears away some police cars and a helicopter with a rocket launcher, it's clear path to escape. Michael takes the money in junk car and driving to an agreed meeting point - a location has been selected even during the planning of the robbery. Here we threw a grenade under the car trash to delete all the tracks and put us into another vehicle near the robbery proceeds in the back seat.

I am looking forward to the game even more now after reading it. Sorry about the bad grammar though, you know how google translate is.

But I'll be in the US when the game comes out, so maybe I'll try it when I'm there, probably not.

And judged by some of the replies, others have not either.

Thanks man, I enjoyed the article. Great work.

You have to think, alot of the people who are members of the GTA Forums or other websites are no lifers who sit around their parents house playing games and typing 'Fap" to every article or forum post they like or think is "Swag". What they don't understand is some of us have jobs, girlfriends, hobbies and a lives outside of video games.
