UrbanTheEmcee
Michael's flaws seemed more acceptable before. His Ego, his love for preforming criminal acts, etc... But after watching his trailer I figured out why Michael is getting back in the game. He's running from his family. His wife spends all his money, and f*cks other men in his house. His son is a certified wigger, who speaks to his father with no respect. "Why do I have to hold your hand through this midlife crisis bullsh*t." His daughter is a complete brat who throws fits when she can't have her way. This guy gets no respect in his own home, from his own family. I watch these kind of guys on Nanny 911. I have no respect for these kind of men. I really like Michaels story arch, so I'm hoping R* don't screw it up by making Michael a b*tch in his own home. I hope that Michael will get respect from his family, if not he will be one of my least favorite protagonist so far. Lelouch The Zero
Oh here we go again. I really don't care what his character is like, because this is GTA and we all know that outside of his home, Michael is still a badass nonetheless.

Every protagonist is a badass when you're controlling them, I want my protagonist to be one when I'm not. You don't care, but I do. I don't want some bi-polar protagonist who is a badass in the streets, but comes home to get sh*t on by his family. Now do you have anything to add to the topic, or are you just Michael biased too?
Patrizio
Whilst I agree he is obviously the leader of the three protagonists and certainly gains respect from them.

zainzombie
I doubt he will be a bitch in his own home. Its not like Amanda was shown slapping Michael or something. Michael seems like a guy who never gave his family any time as a father and husband and when he retired he expected a perfect family just because he provided for the family is now paying for it. I feel like he is so depressed because he realizes that he doesnt even has his own family under control and all because he was too busy outside. The way he was shown interacting with Jimmy in the second trailer, "Bounce?.. We are bouncing now" and how he stormed off when he catches Amanda and her little boyfriend and the way he reacts to Tracey (pushing her away) shows that the guy is no bitch, he just doesnt know how to control his teenage kids and a wife who hates him. This may be off topic but I am pretty damn sure Michael and Amanda will be getting a divorce or get separated after Amanda and her bf were caught. I can see the Breaking Bad (White and Skyler) type turns happening in Michael's story.

Dope_0110
He's not a bitch in his home. He just thought he could earn money and basically buy himself a family which doesn't happen as it can only end up being spoiled. I assume and really hope so, that he will actually break up from the family by the end of the story. His wife needs to learn to earn for a living (maybe even die), and his children are all grown up so they need to get their own lives.
SuperCrayon
I like Michael so far. I think his flaws are acceptable for his situation, but i wouldn't mind if towards the end he died and you could play as his son, similar to RDR.

wwinterj
I really don't see him having respect for his wife after she's caught cheating. With that said I don't think he cares much as he's said himself he's bored of his life. I think we will see him go back to how he used to be before his mid life crises. Dick Valor
This is Michael's rags-to-riches story arc. He's already rich, so what does he really want? His family's respect, and to feel like a man again. This is why I'm so excited to play as Michael: his motivations are completely different from past protag's since he has "already won." As Bane tells Bats in TDKR, "Peace has cost you your strength; victory has defeated you." It's the same with Michael, and I wouldn't be surprised if, like Bats in TDKR, Michael's story arc revolves around him rising from the ashes and winning his family's respect, among other things. This might come to you as a shocker, but I don't like, hell I despise mindlessly blowing excrement (Hey we gotta keep it civil here) up. The thing I love about GTA games and especially GTA V is the ability to do what I please, If I want to role-play, play golf, go diving, make a roadtrip solely to admire the beautiful scenario.. I can. As I know the narrative will only last me so long, while the game's universe and everything I can undertake in it, will easily last me upwards to 4 years. At least. He's not the typical character you are used to playing. He is a neckbeard, basement dwelling gamer. He is pretty much nothing like the guys you have played in the past, he is more relateable. There would be so much opportunities for hilarious dialogue.

shattered-minds
I don't think Michael will be a b*tch in his own house. Judging by what we've seen of his therapist sessions he's just bored. He's bored of a loveless marriage, bored of a family that he doesn't relate to. He's not happy and he's not entirely sure why, he wants something else but he's not even sure what that is. Perhaps his own individual character arc he be getting to know his family again. I can see him almost forcing Jimmy to tag along as a way of (re)connecting with him. This would explain Jimmy's line about "Why do I have to hold your hand through this midlife crisis bullsh*t?" Amanda is probably bored too, hence her 'lover' in fact, the way they've made her look in Micheal's trailer there's definitely something "desperate housewife" about her. Maybe her cheating on him triggers him to actually try and bring his family back together again.
Vin89
Have you ever considered that it is hard for a man like Michael to be perfect in everything? He is or was a very successfull bank robber. And he goes for his last run. He managed to survive in the criminal world and made it out alive. But he didn't pull this off with tough love and quality parenting. He killed people, made plans for heists, did risky stuff. He had balls. So now we see where his qualities are - and a lot of his passion goes with it. Of course he loves his kids. He most likely once loved his wife or still does. But he can't manage to live to lifes at one time. He can't be a dedicated robber and a great family man. Something called work/life-balance is mostly a myth. If you are dedicated to a job that takes your days and nights your family life will suffer. period. A way to get your folks in line is violence then. This goes for many criminals. They tell their wifes "You knew who you married. I kill people. Just be happy that I don't kill you. If you ever think about leaving me and taking my kids, I'm gonna kill you, too. What's for dinner?" I know that's some hollywood psychology. But that's what this is all about. He simply lacks the skills that are needed to be a good husband and father.

Waingro
I'm very worried that you're view of masculinity is incredibly narrow and obtuse. Michael is a "bitch" because he has poor relationships with his family? So, with a 50% divorce rate in America, at least 25% of all men in America are likely to be bitches, yes? He's a flawe character, heck, GTA V isn't even out and we're having a debate about this guy's dilemma. That's damn good writing. My point is that McNulty, the "best" Detective in Baltimore Homicide in the series The Wire, had an awful relationship with his ex-wife and kids and a drinking problem. It made him a well rounded character, not a bitch. The last thing this country needs is another John Wayne.
aaronimpact
There was a thread made a month or so ago regarding Michaels ego. But it doesn't look like he has an ego, he seems like a push over. Most people who have an ego also have a temper which can be a bad combination and they're not very nice people to be around. Oh and thank you Ad Blocker for blocking that overly large image.
