Hopefully GTA 5 comes to PC, because after this gen, I'm done with consoles. That will be f*cking stupid. As much as I like to keep my PC updated and wish that I could play any game on Windows, there's a lot to miss out on console exclusives. The same can be said for PC though can it not? Exclusives come down to opinion and type of games you enjoy. Gears of War, Uncharted etc i have no interest in. Rome 2 total war? Arma 3? the new CnC? these are exclusives i cannot wait to play. Neither is better, you get what ever you perfer and enjoy more. As for next gen and pc reveal, i very much doubt it. They normally announce a PC version AFTER their console release. The_Regulator Posted May 7, 2013 Share Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) While I will be getting a PS4 at some point, if GTA V ever were to become a PS4/720 exclusive, I'd be pissed. The delay to September ended up being worth it in the long run, especially since they added properties/haircuts/etc. back in, but this would be a stupid, unforgivable move on their part. There is no way you can justify spending five years developing exclusively for this generation, and claiming you've made leaps and bounds with the game's engine, only to cut your nose off despite your face in keeping up with the jones's. You'd end up with another GTA IV situation, where everybody's feeling things out, and trying to re-learn the very same thing they developed. And how it would work with all the new changes. Not even that, but it would be contradictory to either Sam/Dan Houser's own statement in the one interview where they claimed "Rockstar is a content company, not a hardware company." All in all, I don't think they would be this low. Should it turn out that way, however, I will no longer trust Rockstar again. Doesn't mean I won't buy their products, or anything to that extreme, but they will have lost my trust. Why would they allow you to preorder the game on the current gen consoles if the game isn't coming out on said consoles? are they going to give me my money back, and everyone else who pre-ordered it their money? 2) If watch dogs, ghosts, and battlefield 4 have all announced for next gen, and have been in development for as long as GTAV, wouldn't rockstar have said months ago if this game was coming to next gen? and 3) Rockstar is a company that must profit from their endeavors, so if you owned a game company, which would be more logical to do? release for current gen, with an audience close to 200 million on software you are comfortable with and can expect a huge profit margin or release on new platforms that you know will have sold probably less than 10 million unit by the time the game comes out? logical answer: tread familiar waters, make as much money as a large country within the firsrt 2 weeks of sales on current gen instead of releasing to a small audience on new gen that wouldn't make the profit from option one for about 6 more months. so with all that in mind, is it still "likely" that V will release for next gen? This game has cost hundreds of millions of £ to develop, Take Two will want to maximise return on that investment as much as it can, and of course this means it will be released on next gen. People who say otherwise just do not understand the fundamental economics of business that is to maximise return on investment as much as possible. Do people really think they will miss out on millions of $ of revenue by not releasing next gen? Just as San Andreas was released on next gen. I can't see it being announced though until well after it has been released on 17th September. My guess is they'll announce/release March-ish 2014. Couldnt have summed it up better myself. People keep making these threads either to troll or because they are paranoid it wont be made on the pc or next gen. Rockstar first and formost is a business, Every sale of the game will be a profit.. They will not shun hundreds of millions in revenue by ignoring pc/next gen just because some kid on the net says his opinion is they cant make it. Lets use some logic please.. Announced on current consoles = Massive sales on PS3/XBOX360 immediately.. Then announce the PC and have a new large group of people who will purchase it.. some of those with current consoles then purchasing it again for their pc = sh*t loads more money. Announce next gen consoles = all the people who purchase next gen straight away + the people that eventually upgrade to next gen consoles buying the game a second time = more and more revenue for rockstar long into the future for many years to come. All this effort will not just be for ps3/xbox360.. anyone who thinks it is I am afraid is just naive.. I have a PS3 so next gen or pc release is no biggy for me I am just being honest and logical.. it will be on all of them eventually.. please no more of these threads.
