He had a decent job, money and maybe he was even a disciplined man. But what do you think happened to him? how did he get into doing heists with micheal and is micheal responsible for his current state? I would say he is not in pain or f*cked up in the head by drugs or bad friends. He chooses his lifestyle because that is what satisfies him. Although he does kill people, i dont think he could be classified as a socio or psychopath. Since GTA is for a big part all about the killing. After being forced to take copious amounts of methanphedamines to fullfil army research Trevor lost it, the meth-triggered pyschopathic tendancies became more and more frequent. It didn't take long before the "research" turned into a fulltime habit. It wasn't long after this that Trevor was dishonorabley discharged, his wife left him, his kids barely speak to him and he has resorted to a life of crime t supply the addiction his country forced upon him. Trevor has finally returned to his home in LA and has sworn revenge on the Army that has taken his life away! Or maybe he was just dropped on his head as a baby... On topic: Idk exactly what but I think something from his past. Maybe its that something the military happened that changed him or turned him into a lunatic. I dont think Michael has anything to do with it or else he wouldnt be so excited to see him in the trailer. Trevor looks like kind of a guy who will burn you alive if you even look him in a wrong way. Michael must be in his (very short) good list.
