daniel_kaze
Hi, I joined this forum to find help for my problem with GTA SA. When I opened the gta_sa.exe the game won't opened but just crashed. I tried to delete gta_sa.set, run as administrator, run in compatibility mode (Windows XP SP2), but it always crash when I try to run. I tried re-installing it, downgrading it (so I can install mods). Any help is appreciated. OS : Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (Patched April 2013) VGA : NVIDIA Geforce 630M 2GB CPU : Intel Core i5 2.50 GHz 2.50 GHz RAM : 4 GB Edited May 7, 2013 by daniel_kaze
fnxrak
Do you have any firewall or antivirus on??? Maybe it's a permission that is not allowing the game to start. It crashes always when you start the exe or when you load a game??? Does it give any message? I have much less resources than you and the game just runs fine without any compatibility modes in Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits the only big bug I have is from time to time the mouse freezes. My firewall is off, my antivirus doesn't block my GTA. the error message is APPCRASH, it happens when i run the gta_sa.exe, the color scheme changes to windows basic and the game doesn't start at all.. lil weasel
What about the game? Colour scheme change is normal. Did you install from an Original Rockstar DVD? Are you playing with that Original DVD in the Drive?
fnxrak
You may try something like turning the windows scheme to basic before starting the app and see if it runs, but I don't believe this is causing that. What's your version of GTA SA v1 v2 v3 or Steam, if you are downgrading the game I believe for steam version there are downgrading patches design only for that. Does the game crashes before the downgrading?

Does the game crashes before the downgrading? I dunno what version, i just copied the game from my friend. Actually the game is not installed, just a copy from the GTA SA program folder. It usually works fine with my laptop before I reinstalled the Windows 7.. After I reinstalled it, I can't even open the game..
