brian.
GTA IV PS3, watch in hd fullscreen to sample: It does look good. Very good. But notice the slowdowns and the noticeable artifacts due to high detail on a low res screen. Textures are okay at this resolution. Looks like the next GTA after San Andreas - good game. GTA IV Xbox 360, HD, fullscreen to sample: Okay, a little bit more resolution, somewhat more smooth game world, but the midclip still likes to dance around fighting for space on the screen. Unexpectedly, the textures appear a bit too low res for the screen space. While it's an overall better presentation with less artifacts, the textures ironically only really stand up to the slightly lower resolution of the PS3 version. Both games look good, good games. But GTA IV on PC. Watch in HD. Fullscreen to sample: omg look a that. Even if you limit yourself to 720p on the video playback, it's a lot more clear - textures and drawing - I would probably get a headache if I play on console resolution and distance settings now, so I don't think it's a matter of being spoiled by the higher resolution experience, but on one hand it kind of sucks because the game never comes out at the same time on PC. On the other hand, it's just as fun to see others play it and have fun and then get into it later, as I found with IV, the first game I played only after it came to PC, having played San Andreas and priors on PS2 before later on PC with each. By the time IV came out, it was the first game in the current generation that made me seriously consider buying a console. I watched the vids and all, and I decided well I will wait for a PC release if one comes, because I just don't want to game at 720p anymore. So I didn't, the pc verison came, and I still had a ball, with a much higher resolution and definition experience. GTA V will probably look amazing on TV's at that resolution and all, and GTA IV looked great in motion on TV's as well (all three examples look better than youtube can show us, but it's a good enough representation), but I myself don't want to experience it at that resolution, this is meant to be the biggest game ever made by Rockstar, I wanna see it in the biggest glory, I can have fun hearing about it until then, what about you guys?
