BUT THE BENZ
They borrowed from all games R* have ever done. Only answer there is.
krammkracker
I hope they take a page from "Sleeping Dogs" playbook an add this feature into the game: My god please no. This isn't Just Cause 3. Jumping out of the smoking, beat up car you are driving into a new sportscar seems like a great fit for GTA! p.s. never played Just Cause games
CryptReaperDorian
R* (GTA) obviously stole the GPS route thing from Volition (Saints Row).
Irish Thunder Baby
The recruitment feature is REALLY similar to Assassins Creed Brotherhood. Recruit people to help you on hiests and the survivors level up? Just like recruiting Assassins and sending them on missions and they level up if they succeed
LTA1992
R* (GTA) obviously stole the GPS route thing from Volition (Saints Row). No, they copied it from a damn GPS system. Geez. Saints Row's GPS sucked on top of that.
Ibrahimhassounah
Well I don't agree with the term "borrowed". Borrowing means to say that R* never owned the things they are using in the game. R* own all the assets being used to develop a lot of the features in GTAV. For some reason, and call me a fan boy if you like cause I wear that title with pride, R* don't need to "borrow" from anyone. I'M PROWD TO BE A ROCKSTAR FANBOY TOO
krammkracker
Wow, the outright lack of open-minds in this thread is ridiculous. Every company "borrows" ideas from other companies whether it be movies, music, video games, potato peelers etc. To say that R* has never gotten inspiration from other games and companies is an incredibley ignorant thing to say. (Driver, Saints Row, Crackdown, etc. all of these games have had features that R* "borrowed") Don't worry no one is trying to hold it against our precious R*, its a great thing, competition breeds quality

golf wang
I hope they take a page from "Sleeping Dogs" playbook an add this feature into the game: My god please no. This isn't Just Cause 3. What's wrong if they add it? You wouldn't be forced to do it you know, just a feature for those who like to have fun
MuXu96
The character change sounds for me like Midnightclub L.A. when you look at the map..
Kushi_Pete
Man I have the best explanation for this. R* borrowed everything from the real world.

You wouldn't be forced to do it you know, just a feature for those who like to have fun for me it just doesn't feel like GTA, it's not about doing it or leaving it, if you got the possibility you will do it (same with skills). I wouldn't whine about it being in the game, but I don't really want/need it^^
Capricornus
No one. Rockstar Games is unique. Fanboy much? They borrowed from Metal Gear Solid and LA Noire. Also Duke Nukem Forever. Indeed.
twistedweather
would be cool if one of the characters could go to a karate class like sleeping dogs. Learn some of those cool kung fu moves! any improvement upon the hand to hand combat would be appreciated! Uncharted 2+3 had some cool hand to hand combat moves also

(and quite popular in mainstream action movies like those that inspired GTA5)
