GTA-King
My theory is that Michael will become possessive over Franklin, not wanting him to hang around Trevor. Why you ask? Well, Michael himself says that Franklin is the son he always wanted, so obviously he has a great bond with him. I can see Michael becoming very protective over him... which brings me to Trevor: In Trevor's trailer, he says that he has just arrived in town and is ready to make a name for himself, most likely as a drug dealer/gun smuggler (as indicated by "Trevor Phillips Enterprise" from trailer 2). Now, we know Franklin has connections to the hood. I'm thinking once Trevor realises where Franklin is from, he will try to exploit those connections so he can push his crank & guns into the hood (maybe this tactic is what pisses The Lost off? They would be losing business after all.). Trevor Phillips Enterprise could be his "hood" operation with Franklin. And about Franklin, do we think he would be willing to be a major gun smuggler/drug lord to the hood? My guess is he wouldn't be able to pass up all that money. He would be torn between 2 worlds (Michael & Trevor). Which brings me back to the artwork... The way the light is shining on Franklin, to me, seems like R* is saying he will be the "golden child." If Trevor does pull Franklin into drug dealing & gun running, then that would put him at odds with Michael. To Michael, Franklin is the son he always wanted. So being the professional criminal that he is, he wouldn't want to see him go down the path of drug dealing & gun running. He would rather him stick with lucrative heists. I think Michael in the artwork is being protective over Franklin, not wanting him to be involved with Trevor at all. My theory is inspired by this 3 man criminal trio from Breaking Bad. Alot of the things described above happens with them. Jesse would be Franklin, Michael would be Walter, and Trevor would be Mike: Meh, just a theory I wanted to get off my chest. Thought you guys might enjoy it! Edited May 6, 2013 by GTA-King

JohnMonroe85
GTA-King!!! Thanks man! When I read the word "theory" I almost wasn't gonna open the thread. But instead I got a real theory. It might be wrong, but at least a theory I could agree upon it could happen... And also thanks for not let your post end like: And then Franklin's real dad, CJ comes and saves him from Mike and Trevor...

RipeDex
Nice theory. Ultimately, I think Trevor will actually get jealous that his "best friend", now wants to always hang around another guy, and Trevor will get pissed and try to sabotage Franklin and blackmail him and get lamar involved, so that Lamar will find out something that is or isn't true, then he will put a cap in him. Johnny Playert
Dude, once again... you come up with the better threads in the V section! This is a very good theory, it's easily R*'s M.O. and a great one at that. I agree that Michael could very well be protective of Frankie, and wants him to grow in the criminal world, what we learned so far suggests that. So he'll definitely want to keep him away from any influences Trevor comes up with. He could however introduce him to Lamar, since Lamar is pushing Frank to 'get work in', setting him up with Trevor's hillbilly drug dealing will earn them (all) money. So, the way i see it, either Franklin (and Lamar) team up with Trevor and build a drug empire together, to Michaels dissapointment (with further plot possibilities) OR Michael convinces Franklin to let it go, he gives it to Lamar instead, which may cause trouble with Trev and Mike, and also breaking up Lamar and Franklin, what i expect Michael wouldn't mind either (and further plot possibilities)... Damn man! You really got me thinking about this. I think you're on to something here! People, discuss!!!

I hope Rockstar didn't go the 15 year old teenage girl "feelings" route..... We don't need hardened criminals playing "you like him more than me, I'm your bff not him" horsesh*t... Just my opinion.. BUT THE BENZ
Ha...I knew...I KNEW you'd post a breaking bad image. I see the whole thread is another breaking-bad-story-reflected-onto-V idea. How original GTA-King.................... NOT ;D
GTA-King
Nice read, not to knock your idea, but got the impression Micheal was being sarcastic when he said Franklin was like the son he never had... Possible, but I think he was being serious. I mean, look at his real son: Obviously Michael & Jimmy will have a special relationship, but it seems he will have more of a connection with Franklin. Michael sees Franklin as a mirror image of himself I believe: a young hustler wanting to make it big. Their teacher/student relationship could be very similar to Walt & Jesse's from Breaking Bad. Also, there is a scene in BB where Walt accidentally calls his real son Jesse by accident... so you can tell where the true bond is. I really do think Michael & Franklin were inspired by Walt & Jesse. I honestly don't give a f*ck what anyone has to say. That's what I thought. You guys are wrong though. You can tell he meant it. Why would he make a sarcastic remark about it, in the context of the trailer? That doesn't make sense... (hate to see it coming to an end! ) I love the dynamic between Walt and Jesse, it gives the writers the ability to go so many different directions and still have a deep narrative you actually care about. Tv and Movies never make me "care" like Breaking bad has...
Jamie Smith
Good Theory. It does seem that if Franklin's not careful he could hang around Trevor too much and end up getting himself killed, and that's why i think Michael will stop Franklin from getting killed and he will enventually fall out with Trevor in the end. Hope that's not the case tho. would be cool at the end of the game, they were Billionaires and still a team.

zainzombie
Really nice theory but for some reason I think Michael will be close to both Trevor and Franklin equally and will be the one who keeps them together. I dont think Franklin is kind of a character who can have as good of a relationship with Trevor as Mike and Jesse. While Michael can be Mr. White, Franklin can be kind of a jesse (as in the protoge) I just dont see Trevor being anything like Mike. I do think there will be alot of Breaking Bad kind of things in the game but the relationship of the trio doesnt seem like its going to be one of the things. GTA-King
I think Michael will draw alot of inspiration from Walter White & Tony Soprano. He is having a mid-life crisis (minus the cancer part) just like Walter. Tony Soprano has a therapist just like Michael, and also... You sit at home... ...and watch your life THAT IS F*CKING BRILLIANT!!!!! Tony Soprano does that all the time!
