The Big Unrevealed Secret Feature in GTAV

Yeah.. yeah dreams are dreams, but this morning while I was just waking up I had this dream and sometimes my dreams come true.

Weird as it sounds and as lame as it sounds, they just do. I don't think I'm psychic I just think my brain notices things and processes crap differently when I am asleep.

So here is something added to GTA V that would be a huge feature.

User created missions that you can plan and share. These could be anything from heists to anything else. Even the layout.

They are in depth too, I know that they can be created... the area of the heist.. the type of heist.. the type of enemies.

Crazy dream and it really would be a landmark feature for the GTA series that would add longevity to GTA V.

I figured I would share this with people because if it came true, how effed up would that be?

Kind of reminds me of Infamous 2. You could create missions in that game, but they were more like mini-games more so than actual missions.

I think that rockstar has somewhat added something like this. ( according to the CVG preview ) the players can plan the heists that they're going to pull off.

i don't think the avrage gta gamer would enjoy building and making scripts .

They could have pre-made scripts...

you'd be surprised how many people in this world are above 'average' and even if I'm wrong, it adds longevity for the folks who just want to switch on and play.

There are quite a few creative people in this world and that's a brilliant idea. it's the kind of thing I always hope for in games like this.. the ability to create extra content, whether it be level, mods etc.

Saintdestroyer

Sounds plausible, they did say they have big plans for multiplayer that would provide "tonnes of content"

I agree with you on this. Even if most people don't create anything, there will be a large group of people that put out some pretty good content as we've seen in other games.

No thanks. I'm sorry but users can't do anything on par with Rockstar. Every user-created mission would feel out of place.

I hope your dream comes true because thats a pretty good idea. Like Hitman Absolution's Contracts mode... this just cant get old.

Kinda like Tony Halk Pro Skater, right? Where we can design our own skatepark and missions? I like it. I like it a lot.

We all know it's a dream that won't come true. Then again, what dream does?

How, in the name of Christ would this work?

You do realise that missions are coded, and you can't just type it down in a message, send it out into the interwebs and have it materialise into a mission in GTA

In missions...stuff happens, your idea confuses me, how do we create missions? There is an enemy in a mission. You can't just tap in..."Car drives down, parks outside bank, people come out shooting" - no, no no no. Coding missions just doesn't work like that.

That would be extremely disappointing in my opinion. User created missions in all games I've played that include them, even the top ranked/played ones, were boring and lacked spark. It's a feature that doesn't satisfy me and I typically pass it up nowadays just because of the experience I had before with user created levels. ph34r.gifph34r.gif

sometimes. you look very strange. somewhat smiling. a little vain. saying not today.

What i saw made it look simple.

You control the camera a free floating one. This camera angle was tilted from the sky looking down.

Hold and select an area (this one was an alleyway with dumpsters) a red box was drawn on the ground. This was the area of interest... protect this for 5 minutes or take this spot over etc. It was a trigger spot for the mission.

You select and place NPCs... these were mob looking types or FBI agents. Black hair, tuxes and sunglasses. You drew their paths on the ground. It was the same character multiple times.

You chose the type of mission etc from a dropdown. This is all I remember.

Somebody (R*?) was showing me how it worked on a tv screen. I didn't have the controller myself.

These things become more and more popular in games. Think Portal 2 (dlc or the whole source engine thing), hitman absolution, littlebigplanet and saints row (sharing characters). It's the missing puzzle piece: users sharing content. R* knows how large the GTA community is and sharing user content is the way to go.

They already added the feature to share pictures with the in-game camera and there are 3 cell phone 'apps' to be revealed, I wouldn?t mind a creation app of some kind.

Maybe/hopefully you will get a hands-on time with the game by July? wink.gif

Sounds like an utterly sh*t idea. Good excuse for uncreative retards to saturate a fan-made database of pointless, inept missions.

Just like any other game with user created content, the sh*t sinks to the bottom while the gems float to the top.

You obviously have no clue how these things work.

Congrats on being as negative as always.

I think it could be a good idea. You could have 'create a heist' or 'join a heist' from the user menu, then choose a location, and a modus operandi.

Official General

Maybe a GTA separate package specifically for modding, but for the actual game ?? NO THANKS.

Let's just leave it to the guys who are long-established legends, experts and supreme masters in this area of gaming.

There is very good reason why they are called games developers and we are called gamers/consumers.

Last night I had a stupid dream about V, lol. I went on the newswire and R* published a 3-paragraph article filled with a bunch of filler bullsh*t crap, but they gave one small thing away: That the first time we customize any aspect of our character, it will be free. lol.gif The first car customization item, first haircut, first tattoo, first meal, etc...

What a stupid article that'd be, lmao.

I think it would more be like multiplayer missions or something similar. Not a standalone mod tool for the main game but that would be awesome too.

More like design your own heist for cash and share if you want with the community.

Yeah, the 1% of good creations doesn't make up for the 99% of garbage. That's what PC modding is about. People like taltigolt are up there, then you have the rest. It will work, just like R* and the community through R* Games Social Club and GTA IV's Video Capture feature, they waste a lot of manpower looking through piles of garbage videos to find a half-decent one to share with everyone else.

You can only imagine how much more nonsensical it will get if players are given the freedom to experiment with designing missions and levels. Next to R*'s hand-picked top professional talents, mediocre fan work is going to be abysmal.

I rather R* commit resources to multiplayer by keeping server uptime and to moderate/deter cheaters from ruining it. With an open world more dynamic than ever combining R*'s past MP features and from other gaming studios, that will be a lot of longevity.

BUT THE BENZ

Sounds like OP wants something like "contracts mode" from Hitman 5. That was actually the only good aspect of the game.
