Audiophile
I bought a CD key for BF3 off a reputable CD key site. After a few months of owning it, the game disappeared from my library. Contacted live chat to be like "watf*ck". Told me "lul CD key obtained from illegal site". So of course I denied and said "lel gift from friend" and then rage quit the chat saying it's funny they do this just as premium edition for BF3 hits. The next day BF3 was back in my Origin library. But since then I don't feel like taking a chance with CD-key sites. EDIT: Dafuq is up with my spelling lately... Rebel
Damn, I'm getting that familiar Sims feeling... Read lots of bad things about this, and I'm still pissed they removed swimming pools, but every time I see it I want to buy it so I might have to give in and give it a shot. I tried the C-A-S demo and it was cool. Still over a day left for the UK though If you want it, you can pick it up from a CD key website for about £29 and have it pre downloaded before it gets released (at least I did that, got sent my Key yesterday and can pre download it via origin) To be honest, I'm looking forward to it even if they have some negative points. Im actually looking forward to the cheats as well haha. Please tell me that price wasn't for the digital deulex version? Uh, no don't think so. I got my Limited Edition copy for about £20 the other day from a CD key place. Looked at the price on Origins just for sh*ts and giggles and nearly chocked when I saw £40 + for that stuff. I'm surprised I got my code sent early so I could pre load but hey, I'll be ready for Friday
OysterBarron
Well I checked amazon and the price for the same extras you get with the deluxe version on origin was £10 more so I just brought off origin. You chocked over the price I was almost ready to kick myself in the nuts if you said that was for the deluxe version! Audiophile
Audiophile
With a full garden and a career (secret agent) now, I don't have much time to have my sim exercise...so I just noticed something... My sim actually gained weight on his own, without exercise and eating food normally. It's not that much and it wasn't instant but I reckon if this keeps up, he will balloon up even more. I actually like that, it's a nice detail and reminds me of TS2 and it doesn't happen over a day or two, it was pretty gradual. EDIT: Oh and noticed a new thing with gardening...eventually your plants may get bugs so you have to do "spray with bugs" to rectify that. Thought that was also a nice touch. GN 92
I'm an old school fan since sims 1, loved sims 2 but didn't play sims 3 as i were busy with gta iv. Now after reading lots of reviews i decided to, as a big sims fan, pirate the whole sims 3 and all expansions and packs. Actually its already installed, i'm gonna play it soon Sucks that ea is f*cking everything up lately.

El Dildo
yeah but it's really beside the point, isn't it? The Sims 1 had cars and it wasn't open world. The Sims 1 had pools. this is just another case of 'here we go again.' The Sims is f*cking f*cked up. you notice how in every other series (of ANY game, it doesn't matter) you never take a step back. you always add features and improve and carry them over into the next installment to build on top of. this isn't just standard for any other game, it's standard for pretty much all aspects of business and development. it's pretty much standard for life. you try to improve. The Sims says does the opposite. because they can. because we keep giving them money. by the end of the Sims 1 (and all the original expansions) we had multiple neighborhoods, towns, advanced construction features (spiral staircase), and all kinds of luxury items from vehicles to pool tables to massive flat-panel TV's. when they created Sims 2, we were back down to individual neighborhoods, one single town, simple construction features, no pool tables, no theater TV's, no cars, no luxury goods. by the end of Sims 2 we had all these things. by the start of Sims 3 they were gone again. what the literal f*ck is going on? why do we keep doing this? They f*cked up last year with BF4 launch, they f*cked up SimCity 5 or whatever its called (I'm a BF and SimCity fan) So unfortunately I expect Sims 4 to suck, and I'll tell you the truth, I'm here waiting for a functional crack to try if its good, otherwise I'm not buying it. People are f*cking retarded for buying it over and over again each time. I truly believe that in the case of The Sims piracy is genuinely justified, one of the only games where i would say this. Can't denie it's one of the worst culprits but it has been like this since the first iteration. but then again the attitude that it's justified to pirate and people are retarded for spending there own money is just as retarded. If everyone didn't spend there money on the franchise and decided to onoy pirate it the there wouldn't be a franchise to pirate. If we all had adopted that mentality in the 90's then there wouldn't even be a games industry. Well there may have been but it would be just a huge amount of free to play online titles that charged £50 every time for a new pair of pants. Cosmic Gypsy
I think if every single Sims fan started pirating the game with the view that everything that was once already in the game, being taken away only to be sold back to us is wrong, then they would stop making all these bullsh*t "expansion" packs. Pretty sure most logical people who play The Sims by now has come to the conclusion that's it's probably best to pirate the sh*t out of it. We just need the masses to wake the f*ck up. Like Diablo said they are only doing it because people are letting them get away with it, so if literally every one started pirating the game because of this, EA would probably get the picture. At first the problem wasn't even all that evident because expansion packs were original, containing original content that no other previous game ever had, The Sims 2 Pets for example, but now people are actually realizing that it's a never ending cycle of bullsh*t. GJ Maxis. On a similar note, there are already a few (non game-breaking) glitches lots of people are experiencing, such as sims permanently holding forks and babies being...interesting. http://kotaku.com/the-sims-4-demon-babies-are-a-glitchy-nightmare-1629680047 So there are these glitches, people pirating the hell out of it already and a repetition of previous sims games with a buttload of cut content at release. Overall, looking like a good release! uNi
Cebra
Jesus, there aren't even any dishwashers. I have a feeling that it'll be weird to build a multi-million dollar home and still have to wash dishes by hand.

Once you give it a chance and start going deeper into what is available, you have fun. The people complaining, most of them haven't even played it, are just looking at all that is missing or just love to complain. Most but not all. This is the base game. Every Sims base game felt like it "lacked" content and was boring. Coming from 5 years of expansions and updates...no wonder. But I am betting mid-way into it, people aren't even going to remember how badly Sims 4 "sucked" at launch. Give it a chance, guys. A real one. When I first launched, I found myself going wtf, too. But I gave it a real chance and explored, I still keep finding new things and I quite enjoy the game. As for the whole thing about how they rinse and repeat, yeah. That's just the way it is. They can't exactly put everything in all at once but some stuff I agree they should try to get in at base i.e. weather. What we really need is for them to have some competition in the life simulation genre. Competition breeds innovation...it can only be good. Let us know if you get it, Kirsty and if you end up enjoying it. Give it a chance and remember, it's just the base game! Audiophile
Yeah. There are some things I don't get either but really, dishwashers isn't a game-breaker. I question some content, like the dishwasher being left out. The game was probably rushed so once again, thanks, EA. I haven't really felt the impact of there not being dishwashers. So maybe they left it out to have more time to work on other content, okay. If you don't wash the plates yourself, you can drag it right into the sink and it does it for you.
