Is the cheat for Simoleons the same as in previous Sims?

@EZ:

There's cars driving around when you go to public places, I know that much. Pretty sure you can't drive one though.

In my art job, I just got a promotion, and it was only am extra $2 an hour. It's not huge like it was in Sims 3, which in kinda like.

That was also my first promotion, too, so things can change later on.

I also love how vocal with the community the devs are. It's great.

@above: Yes

So far it looks like a deeper game than the previous in the series. Anyway, I;m curious before I buy it.

How hard is it to get Simoleons?

Is there somewhat a larger variety of things to buy?

And Are the rumours true about there being no cars?

Is it hard to get Simoleans? Seems to be. Well, not hard per say, but not as easy as it was in The Sims 3 by any stretch.

Larger variety? Not really. About what you'd expect from a base Sims game so far is my experience.

Cars? I haven't seen anyway.

No cars that you can buy.

Cars drive around the streets in front of your neighbourhood/public spaces but it's decor.

They likely do plan to add cars in the future, I think the fact that they have them as decor is a good sign.

With respect to careers and earnings, it gets easier and the amount really goes up once the careers start to branch off.

I wouldn't say it's harder to make money, you just have to be smarter about it.

So I'm enjoying it. Forget even thinking about Sims 3 when you try to compare it and you'll enjoy it for what it is.

Oh, and I totally stole Bella Mortima/Goth from her husband and will marry her (my sim will anyway) he was going out with some skank at the time for an easy lay but then met Bella at the gym and well, needless to say it took ages for her to even get romantically interested. But it happened, I tried to host a wedding except we were at the venue but then the bride disappeared and the timer ran out so I failed the marriage ceremony? WTF? lol.

Great minds think alike, Rebel. That's currently my plan of action..

Detective Phelps

(I always have the wife be a stay-at-home mom)

I do that in the Sims 3.

Just get her to do some painting. My character's wife (TS3) is at painting level 10, so her paintings get a decent amount of money.

If the kid starts crying, tend to him/her.

I really wanted to get this game, but the "89 missing features" made up my mind. I know that they will add some of those things back, but they will probably put them in over-priced expansion packs.

I always enjoy playing as a Cop/Doctor.

Make your decision on gameplay, not on an inaccurate and nitpicky list.

Gameplay is good, but not good enough to convince me to get it. I've played the game at a friend's house.

I'll be sticking with TS3.

"Emotions" and gameplay is not enough. They took out the police job, damn it! They might add it in, but we know EA, they will probably charge for it. £18 or more. Overpriced.

Anyway, do consider my advice, get your character's wife painting.

Sums up the video perfectly.

He discusses more than just that. If you took the video as a critical argument then perhaps you could see what he's trying to say? Not trying to sound rude or anything. :)

Did that video come out before release of the game?

He made the video without having playing the game. What it can be boiled down to, if you don't wanna watch it is:

"Hey guys, I haz opinions. Haven't played yet tho"

"So I saw an article of missing features..."

"EA f*cking us over."

"Loading screens"

"EA f*cking us over because EA are evil"

"More missing features talk"

"EA trying to make money"

"More opinions"

The only time you'll have to go cancel what your doing to go talk to a sim is when the little feet symbol appears next to what you want to do with the sim. So if it hasn't got the feet on and then you wont cancel what you are currently doing.

Color me shocked that if a product doesn't make money, it doesn't continue getting made.

I don't see The Sims 4 being a success. I mean, it's gotten a fair view of coverage, but right now it's not looking likely. Of course it's not over, it's just looking vague. This had to be the weakest base game out of the entirety of The Sims.

I sadly concur.

There was always something to "wow" you with a new Sims release. This release just seems to be lacking the wow.

I'm enjoying the game...I have never and will never use a cheat in a TS game(played day 1 since sims1) so naturally I'm playing this one honest. It almost has that TS 1 grinding feel but with less peeing.

How is it not looking likely that it'll be a success?

It's debuted at the top of the UK charts, for example, before digital sales have even been factored in.

Depends on how you define success. Generally the two camps are "happiness" and "wealth".

There is.

The inclusion of Self-WooHoo is pioneering both the Sims as a series and the gaming industry as a whole. Never has a game been so relatable in the history of the universe.

OT: Judging by the things that are in Sims 3 that aren't in Sims 4 a few expansion packs can be predicted

No Toddlers- Maybe another Generations DLC

No Pools- Seasons DLC

No Pets- Self Explanatory

No vehicles- Fast Lane stuff/Island Paradise DLC

I could go on. I reckon that the base game has been so bare so that EA has the disk space to add in even more than TS3 and its DLCs

From looking around places (here, Sims forum and so on) seems like the majority are varying degrees of happy with the product as is.

As for financial success, early going seems to indicate that.
