MosquitoSmasher
Just now i was talking to one of my best friends and he said he hasn't read any of the previews and he will go in fresh when the game comes out. He's only seen the trailers and screenshots, but knows nothing about the new and returning features. Man i wish i could be like him in that regard, have the...i guess strength to simply resist those previews and reading up on all those details. How awesome would it be that you start to play the game and eventually when you have enough money, find out that you can purchase a house or a...*gulp* a freaking Boatyard or Airport...how awesome would that be? Last year when the Game Informer issue came out, i was planning on just reading that, cause the amount of pages sounded insane, it really wasn't overly informative though, so i decided to read those previews too. But i wish i had stopped there, i certainly was planning on doing that, because hey...from there on...it was only a few months until Spring 2013 and then the delay happened. A bit of silence then happened and then came the updates again and the hype and especially curiousity was back, this time the details was a sh*tload. Gonna try my best to stay away from any real information from now. If websites get another chance to see/play the game, i'll stay away from those. Rockstar promised plenty more to come in terms of content, and i gotta wonder what big things could they possibly still have then? What about the 'We'll keep plenty back for the people to discover themselves'. Starting to doubt that it's even true. So anyone else that kinda regrets reading up on all that info? It's not like i will be enjoying the game less compared to if i hadn't read those details, but still.
The Odyssey
Good point. However, there still could be some extra things that we don't know about yet (Tanks, Area 69, Monster Trucks) I'm probably going to do the same thing as you. Especially when September comes closer, where lots of info will be revealed
Kiffster
Nope! If I didn't want to find out about everything, I wouldn't be on this forum. There will still be plenty of stuff in the game that they won't show.
BlackNoise
R* holds a lot of details back, so if they're willing to give us this much, the game must be massive. As long as they don't spoil the story or too much of the environments, I'm happy learning as much as I can about the game.
wwinterj
I somewhat agree. My brother for example won't read every detail about a game he possibly can. He'll watch the trailers and that's it. He's already buying it on name alone so I guess he doesn't feel the need to. R* have not told us much though and from what they have told us it's been very brief so I'm cool with what I know so far and will continue reading previews and the like. R* have said they holding a lot back this time so I'm comfortable reading any information I can. I will however avoid spoilers and did skip over most the missions details(Blitz Play) in the previews. It's always better to be as fresh as possible though. Edited May 6, 2013 by wwinterj
RedDagger
I like going into a game knowing what I'm doing, especially story-wise, because I found with some games where I didn't know anything beforehand I missed quite a lot and didn't understand too much at the start. If there was gameplay footage, however, I wouldn't want to watch that.

MosquitoSmasher
I just read this http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=554284 And while i'm aware that this could be marketing talk, i mean..no way are they going to say something like 'We've seen more than half of the game now' it sounds very promising. If Rockstar hides things on purpose, i'm very cool with that. I trust in them, they have yet to really disappoint me with a game. @thegtaman531 Exactly man. I bet there will be more previews around July and probably those hands-on articles in August or early September. I feel that i've learned a whole lot about the game now, surprised about the returning features and very excited about it. I think i've had my ....fix and i hope it can last like this until the release of the game. If previews with brand new info were to come out this week, i'd do everything i can to just ignore it. It's enough now. Multiplayer info i don't mind much..but as fun as the MP is no doubt going to be, i buy GTA for singleplayer experience.
CrisFormageKIFFLOM
NO!!! i'm glad i seen all the previews and stuff....it's not going to spoil the game lak. All these people saying ''I don't want to spoil the game by knowing too much'' Have you ever NOT played a game because you seen too much info and spoiled it?? I'll answer that....NO. It's not like you have actually played the game and USED these cool new features.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it f*cking cracks me up!!!!

The Scottish Guy
I just don't want anymore. I've had more than enough info, trailers, screenshots to send my hype through the roof. I want everything else left to the experience of playing the game itself. Some of you want every little scrap of detail fed to you prior to release, and I will never understand it. Miss Darko
I'm fine with knowing broad mechanics and features. I just don't want to know specifics yet, and R* isn't giving them.
Above
I have been thinking about this too, but there's a degree of enjoyment in having an idea of what you're going into. Your mind becomes prepared for the experience, and there's supposedly still a lot we do not know. When I first played Red Dead Redemption I had no idea what the game was about, but it felt no better than going into GTAIV, which I had monitored closely up until its release. FAH-Q
Yup, the entire game is ruined for me because they told us not even half of the details. My PS3 is going to spit it back out and go "you already know too much".

Everyone has hobbies, Hobbies are a major part of life that bring people enjoyment. if his is gaming and it makes him happy why does he need to randomly "go outside" for no reason? Its such a bizarre insult that people use. On topic I am glad I know what I know so far, Keeps me interested.. Also there is a lot they wont tell us.. which lets the imagination run wild knowing the game will be rather huge and filled with fun stuff to do. I'm not even going to waste my time with folks like him. It's the same kind of folks that go into these threads where people in good fun discuss and joke around about the bouncing boobs in the GTA trailers. Their reply is...oh you bunch of virgins, its time to get a real girlfriend. The funny thing is, i bet they are the virgins and the idiots with the big mouths. As for this guy, the clown is already jumping to conclusions by saying that my life will change and what not. I wonder why he even replied at all. Maybe he doesn't know, but in life it's possible to have regrets about so many things...this could be one of those. The guy clearly is taking it way too seriously..it's all on him, lol. @The Scottish Guy Yup, same for me. I'm just looking forward to this game so much that i just have to read those previews, check out every screenshot and trailer and i'm sure if Rockstar was to come with those gameplay videos, i'd probably not be able to just ignore them, too curious and what not, especially when i'd see people here discussing about it. killahmatic
Ridiculous. I never read the previews for III or Vice City, but I've kept up to date with all info and previews since San Andreas, and they've never in any way, shape, or form ruined the game for me. Knowing things before the game is released doesn't take away from the game at all. It doesnt even slightly take away from the experience. Not to mention if you go back and find the previews, trailers, and screens of IV before it came out, you'll see that what seemed like a lot of information at the time was actually very little of what the game had to offer. Same with San Andreas; Same with V.

rdfdsv
I'll just avoid any direct gameplay information such as screenshots (With the HUD on) and stuff that comes in the summer. If there's going to be a final trailer I will watch it and I'll read text containing good information but not enough to be considered "spoily" information. That won't cut my desire to play the game, I am sure.

zainzombie
Yes that would have been awesome. But its impossible to be on these forums and avoid all the info. I recently played Bioshock Infinite and I had NO idea of what I was going into (apart from a few trailers and Bioshock 1 gameplay videos because I never played Bioshock games before) and the experience was just amazing. Idk.. I may silently walk away from these forums, get busy with other things and come back when I have the game. Or maybe I will just...... stay here, wait for any sort of information, rumour or even a tweet which just makes the wait even more painful. DryJohnson45
I agree, the only sad thing is humans always want more. sh*t, I want more lol were not going to see much for a while now, until they fixed and updated a few things that we already know about. Which is good in a way but bad if you were really hyped for new info and now are like I know it now, now what
