So with this whole awesome system, of sun going up and down and more, I hope the time passing doesn't go too fast, I hope it won't change too fast in-game.. What do you think? Thinking back to GTA IV for example, the time passing would be too fast to work with a system like this IMO. Yours? I believe there was a video that showed this system very well, I'm unable to find it now tho.. I hope time passing goes a bit more slow.

Not sure what you are talking about. Sun going up and down more? The sun come up and down once a day.

I imagine the days will be exactly the same length as in IV.

With and more I mean it becoming light, dark.. Clouds etc. The system was in RDR already right? I always had the idea time went by slower in RDR, in GTA IV time passing went pretty fast.. Too fast for a system like this too look great.. I think.. It would change too much, too fast.. I hope time passing therefor takes longer.

GTA III era games used 1 second=1 minute

GTA IV used 1 second=2 minutes

RDR used 1 second=2 minutes.

RDR days were the same length as IV's days.

It will be as always 1 minute in real life = 1 hour in game time.

In IV it was 1 in-game minute = 2 seconds in real life

Also if the weather system mentioned was in RDR it's possible that it will be in V. Though i hope that they'll make days a little longer .

48 minutes for one day seemed pretty long to me.

If anything, I want longer days than nights. In any game I seem to play, night is the worst and it also feels like the longest.

I think I'm probably going to use the weather cheat more often this time around if it's the same.

4 seconds to 1 game minute would be enough to enjoy the new timecycle..(just doubling the standard) but I reckon it'll be the same as IV & RDR as people have said, which is fine.

-I also agree that nights are the longest part and theres not as much to see at night in terms of peds/cars/situations... but if you close enough and enjoy the night time as you do the day you'll probably find lots of neat stuff.

I think this whole "6 hour advance" every time you save can get annoying. We should be able to decide which time we want the characters to "wake up".

I second this. Far Cry 2 allowed you to set an alarm before you went to sleep. You also saw a timelapse outside, which was pretty cool.

2.5 seconds = 1 minute => 60 minutes = 1 day

3 seconds = 1 minute => 72 minutes = 1 day

I'd prefer the third option, it wouldn't feel too artificial in that way in my opinion.

BUT, days should be made in the summer way, so that sun goes down at 8:30pm and comes up at 6. Otherwise nights would be too long and boring.

You mean, 2 seconds=1 minute... If it would have been how you said, the days would have been very short.

Exactly, it was more like 2 seconds=1 minute in gta iv...

I thought it was 2 seconds to 1 minute in IV and 3 seconds to 1 minute in RDR.

Agreed. I mentioned this a while back, would be a nice addition.

With regards to in game time, I'd like to see 3-4 seconds = one in game minute.

I hope at least 60 minutes = 1 day

the map is big and it would be annoying to see switching from day to night just to reach a location.

Also I hate night and I want to be able to play in the day as much as I can.

I actually think 48 minutes is about right. I would rather have a longer day but if you're one of those people that would rather have short days then a feature should be included where you select how much time you want to pass along with the sleeping feature which will still pass six hours.

Longer days just makes it feel more realistic and better for me.

I'd like summer night so it extends the day longer and isnt dark so soon however I dont know why people "hate" the dark. The city lit up when you are flying, scuba diving in the dark in fear of sharks.. Dusty dirt roads in the low light.. long highway drive with the radio on.. Nice illuminations from the emergency vehicles if you steal one.. Plus if we get flashlights on our weapons that will also be cool.. lots to do in the dark. icon14.gif
