kevloaf
Its probably not going to happen, but after you finished a mission you heard that 15 second music bite from san andreas my brain would explode due to nostalgia. Anyway I hope they have cool music I was getting a bit sick of gta IV's one after awhile thoughts?

zainzombie
The 15 seconds version of the music from first trailer would be cool. I loved it in San Andreas, the music was/still is epic.
Miss Darko
It might be a bit of that Odgen's nut gone flake tune - dun dun da dum, dun dun d d dum The 15 seconds version of the music from first trailer would be cool. It would kinda fit, but stuff like this is composed specifically for the game, not taken from "real" music. DODI3OG
Do Do Do Do Do Do DOOOOOOOHow can you get sick of that? You're wrong. That wasn't how GTA 4's "mission success" music sounded like. IT was something VERY NEAR TO THIS: Dung dugudungdung dugudugudung, dungdungdungdungdungdungdung!

Miss Darko
@DODI3OG Well there were two versions (maybe more, but that's what I can remember), which seemed to depend on the tone of the mission at the end. One was like a snippet of the main theme (which you described), and the other was a slow, contemplative little "jingle" (which the guy you quoted described). EDIT: Having checked up on it, there's more like five. Edited May 6, 2013 by Mr. Darko

RedDragonsBOOM
I liked the music for Liberty City Stories the most myself but that worked good for a mob centric game, I feel like with this type of game you need almost a different sound loop for each character. However if I were to pick one seeing as how its an oceans 11/ reservoir dogs vibe in this game Id pick some Jazzy smooth tempo 'cool' sounding music, like youre getting sh*t done in a slick manner. Miss Darko
As for my personal opinion on this matter, I'd have to say that I wouldn't want that. I liked San Andreas, but I don't want things from it purely for the sake of nostalgic value. GTA V is a different game and it requires its own themes, sounds, visuals, etc. It has a different focus as well. SA's music in general fit the early 90's LA gangsta vibe, while V is a modern atmosphere painting a more broad portrait of LA. I don't think the main theme or its derivative after-mission "jingles" should have a rap/hip-hop-ish tone to it at all, considering that Franklin only accounts for a third of the game's thematic connotations. I don't think he specifically meant that V should have the San Andreas theme, but whatever. The game already has a musical score playing through it supposedly, so I would say finishing mission would result in music being played after, I loved that in GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas (Plus the stories.) It really gave me a sense of accomplishment after finishing, it reaffirmed that I had completed the mission, that music was like a big sigh of relief for some missions I played. Miss Darko
I don't think he specifically meant that V should have the San Andreas theme, but whatever. What else could he really have meant? I mean, they never removed this feature. IV had it as well, it's almost a given that it'll be in V, yet he was acting like it was a long shot. The only explanation I can think of is that he literally wanted SA's after-mission jingles in V.

You replied to the OP as if he was talking about having the exact same jingles as San Andreas after the mission. He was only talking about having a musical score play after the mission, not the exact same musical score, he did mention it would be cool, but that wasn't his main point. Why does anyone have anything as their signature? I have it because I WANT TO. Go be a funny Kent somewhere else, this topic is about mission complete music. One reason I have a big white signature is so I can quickly scroll down a page and spot my post, so I don't have to reread the whole thread to find where I was up to. Seriously? Why not? It's his choice. Your right. Its just that whenever we have a long period of time with no information we see countless threads like this pop up because people have nothing else to talk about. But when we get a flood of really good info and these kind of threads STILL pop up - its frustrating.
