Game crashing on load screen - Mod installed

Hey,

 

Followed these steps to install a vehicle mod and now the game won't load:

 

"Open file "gta3.img" with IMG Tool or with any other

software for models installing and replace files

"wayfarer.dff" and "wayfarer.txd", close program.

In file "handling.cfg" replace this with:

 

WAYFARER 1300.0 600.0 6.0 0.0 0.1 0.0 103 1.4 0.85 0.48 5 190.0 63.0 5.0 R P 10.0 0.55 0 35.0 0.65 0.20 0.0 0.09 -0.11 0.55 0.0 0.0 0.24 10000 41002000 0 1 1 8

In file "vehicles.ide" replace this with:

 

586, wayfarer wayfarer, bike, WAYFARER, WAYFARE, wayfarer,motorbike, 6, 0, 0, 23, 0.654, 0.654, -1

 

 

 

WARNING: you must replace both lines (handling+vehicles) else come game crash."

 

Aside from downgrading to V1, this is the only mod installed in my game at the moment, as I performed a clean install today.

Did you manually install the handling and vehicles line? By manual installing I mean did you use notepad to do it?

 

And, try with original wayfarer.dff and .txd.

Yes, I did use notepad. There was no other option to edit the file. I'm getting the feeling now that I need to download a 3rd party software to edit these files safely?

No, I was just asking as those third party softwares usually won't replace the lines correctly, causing crash.

 

So, have you tried replacing any of the lines with original ones, or changing model to original?

It might not always be the handling file as there could be an issue with the DFF or TXD, but first try using an unmodified version of the Handling,Vehicles,Etc Files.
