StateofMind15
They should have the levelling system where every time you level up through Xp you get money which you can use to buy weapons,Cars and customize them and buy houses in free roam where you and your crew can hang out. Great idea! Although that shouldn't be the only way to get money.
GTAfan786
Possibly a Multiplayer car garage? I'm sure that isn't hard to do. This definitely will be in MP IMO.
Averryy
Modder free. More then 16 players, even IV's map was too big for only 16 players. People could spread out so much if you think about it, the game really needs like 32 players..not getting my hopes up though. 24 is more plausible, anyways it needs more online players. can 360/ps3 handle that much players i always thought it was 18 the max on current gen. probs wrong though it would be wicked if we could get 32 in free mode I just gotta say, 18 the max on current gen? Have you even heard about Defiance? yeah iv heard of it but never played it or looked into it. how many does that hold? Over a hundred i think. It's an MMO game, so you'd expect that. o sh*t! nice well i hope they up the player count to at least 32 64 would be amazing thought they cant stay at 16 with the size of this map they need to go all out. This is good news, I do think that 32 would be the max for free roam, then the standard 16 for team death matches. I hope there is more then 16. Taking a 10 minute drive across the map to kill some one then find them to just leave as you arrive would become annoying... I just want them to say anything about multiplayer, it's almost like they've forgotten it exists lol

wwinterj
I'd like the free roam in GTA V to be like that of Red Dead Redemption. I spent ages picking flowers, hunting, doing gang hideouts and so on all in free roam without even doing anything in the other modes. It was like single player only you could bump into other players and minus the missions. This is how I hope GTA V does free roam. It would be neat if you could go about doing online only missions while in free roam like the single player but maybe that's asking to much. Adding onto that you will have your co-op modes and traditional game types like death match, racing and so on. I also think heists may be possible online due to the crews been carried over from Max Payne 3. Maybe this falls into the co-op mission structure though. RedDragonsBOOM
How about they have two versions of freemode. Version 1. Would just be the standard freemode we all played in IV run around shoot stuff, run stuff over, be a griefing ass to noobs, meet people, be social. Version 2. Would be the new GTA V: Persistent Crew World. Where you would have goals, and crew territories. Your crew would mean something, every bullet fed into an opposing faction member would be counted on a world scoreboard. Your attempts to rule the game with your friends would be rewarded with status and ganghouses. Be able to purchase revenue streams with your crew and scheme to get further than the rest. All this would be happening organically with a persistent server tracking all crews registered on the Rockstar Social Club. With the mini-MMO element being used in a lot of mainstream titles these days, Borderlands, and Dead Island just as examples. I think its feasible to see Rockstar doing something like this or in this vein seeing as how experimental they are. It would definitely keep me playing for a long while. MrcTOtheJ
While I’m not one to really worry about Multiplayer I’ve been thinking about what they could do based on how Single player works, now this is for a Free Mode only, somewhat based on what I’ve seen done on some San Andreas Multiplayer and MTA servers, as well as other games. First of all is Money, money as we’ve heard is a big part of the game, there’s Car, Weapon, and charictar customization, as well as property and such as well. Now property won’t really work how the servers will be set up, unless they do something where you can rent a server and you can have a finite amount of properties, I don’t see them making it in. (The reason it works in some SA:MP servers is because it isn’t quick game based, a server will be up and running for years, it isn’t just used for a quick match started by someone just because, at least that’s how I think about it) Now money should be able to be made in several ways, doing mini missions should be one of them, these mini missions would be like RDR like random encounters that could lead to you helping, or robbing NPC’s to get some cash, other people in the area can try to get a slice of the pie as well which would lead to so small time competition over quick cash grabs. Another way to get it should be full blown missions, unlike GTAIV, these would be accessible in a free roam game. You and others can hook up at a mission point (there’d be a bulletin that one is about to start) and you can go and do it, missions usually will range from two to four Co-Op. The Bulletin’s can also be sent to just your crew if you would like as well, so other people don’t get prizes, if no one in your crew is online it goes to everyone, some missions could be started alone if no one else is interested, don’t worry your Multiplayer money pool can increase if no one else is interested. Though the bigger missions will need more people. The members of the crew can all get a small cut as well from you doing these missions, bigger the mission bigger the cut, it dosen’t take out of yours either, it just gives a reason for the cut, the more people in a mission from the crew the more the non involved crew members get. These members don’t have to be online or in the same game to get these kick backs either. I don’t really know how to stream line it but some high risk missions can involve two teams competing for the same cash in a heist or whatever as well. Races should be another thing, there’d be a way to start a race over the Phone, you choose the track what type of vehicles are allowed (or Free for all…as long as it fits like no cars in a boat race) and people can meet at the point, if they accept over the phone you can send a game wide bulletin or pick and chose out of people on the player list on the server for people to join. Unlike missions, street races and the like are a betting experience, each player brings what they have in terms of a vehicle that suit’s the race, and meets, or raises the ante of the race, and then after everyone has gotten time to go get ready, the race begins. Winner takes all. Pink slips can also be bet, if the value is equal to or greater than the part of the pot you’d put up. There’s also an option for all pinks races. Races can be from two to eight people at a time. Now what to you do with all of this money? Charictar customization, besides the initial set up of how your avatar looks can be done from the various, Tattoo Parlors, Barber Shops, Clothes Stores, and so on across Los Santos, and the surrounding areas. Everything costs money but it’s not that expensive, anything you buy in terms of clothes, can be swapped at anytime, changing tattoos or hair is like San Andreas where you have to go back and pay for them to do it again. Weapons, lots of them can be bought some of the more high powered ones require a higher multiplayer level, as well as allot of cash to buy. The level lock is to help prevent noobs from getting a hold of Rocket Launchers to troll so easily. Like in Single player if you’re busted you loose the weapons you bought, so don’t always keep the expensive stuff on you. Vehicles, unlike weapons these won’t be level locked unless it’s military equipment. You can buy them from dealerships across the map, and then take them and modify them you can save both cars you buy, as well as cars you steal in a parking garage/lot, don’t shoot me, it works a bit like Saint’s Row, the cars disappear and you have a list of cars in your motor pool, there’d be a limit of 50 or so, maybe more maybe less. Each one can be customized to your liking like in the single player game. There’s also an Air Strip or two that serve the same purpose for Airplanes/Helicopters, as well as Marina's for boats. There are several of each arround the map, so there's allways an access handy. Last but not least is one last way of making money. The Black Market. The Black Market is an online auction house accessed via the phone, where players can put their Modified Cars, Weapons, Boats, Helicopters etc. to make some money, while you won't usually get your profit back allways, it's a good way to clear space while geting something back, and hell Auctions have been known to run wild. That's it I guess. This would make for a great freemode IMO. There'd still be an IV like freeplay where you could just screw arround, without having limits on things, you could get weapons you want without having the level needed to buy it and all of that though money you make here, isn't transfered over, you just have a high ammount and you can spend it how you want and do what you please. The Freemode I sugested is supposed to blur the line between Single player GTA style and online GTA, you can do what you want be it missions, or just cruiseing with friends. Just like in the single player game. Edited May 6, 2013 by Mr.c TO the J
gtamann123
Three words: Full character customization. Like saints row level customization. Being able to change every feature. Teams won't be split up by hang like they were in MP3 they will just be split up by color like red, blue, black etc. so there's no need to have premise character models. Plus customizable loadouts like in Max Payne 3. I think a marriage of Max Payne, RDR, and GTA IV multiplayer would be the ultimate experience. Take the best parts of each one. Kind if like what their doing for SP Edited May 6, 2013 by gtamann123
gzam1312
its fun to roam around the map shooting other players but to own property/ build an empire in online mode is impossible because your playing against different players each session. It would be great to own a house, gun and car collection that you can improve with each game session and that other players could buy or steal from you but seems impossible at this juncture, so the MP will have to be shallow and gamey. Exactly. I'd have loved to include property purcahseing and such in my idea for a revamped Free Mode, but like you said, it just couldn't be done, the most you could do really is owning cars and guns and storeing them at Game-Wide areas where you can acess your weapon pool, and motor pool at points acrossed the map. Not realisic really but you have to work with what you have even if it means it feels more a like a game like you said.
