GrandTheftEllboy
Firstly, sorry if this has already been covered, I did a search that yielded nothing... As we all know Rockstar told us that we cannot buy property, or get haircuts and tattoos. Now from the second round of previews it turns out we can. I assume that this ISN'T R* changing their mind at the last minute, so... is it all a savvy business technique? Lying to fans and potential customers to let them down then-BANG- only kidding! This just seems an irritating move that showcases how easily we're all led along and listen to (mostly) their every word.

Luuno
It has been discussed several topics already yes. But i think these are the reasons for the delay, without delay we wouldnt had all these amazing features
Above
Who knows and who cares? All that matters to me is that the game will be epic.

If everything from those previews was added because of that delay they added a lot in such a short time. I think they already had these things in and just weren't sure if they would make it or not. And when they were sure they said they were in.
Happyness
1. Rockstar lets fans down that some features are not in. 2. Time passes. 3. Fans start to hate Rockstar. 4. Rockstar releases previews that the features are yet again welcomed in GTA V. 5. Fans love Rockstar more than before. 6. ?????? 7. Profit.
wwinterj
People are complaining about keeping things a surprise? I guess they are going to have a hard time in the coming months and when they play the game.
jamieleng
Dumb thread only deserves a copy/paste of my last post: These sort of things would've been on the table in pre-production, but were pushed to the bottom of the list in favour of new features (which there is a lot). Game development is a fluid process & many things get removed, added, expanded upon, taken back to the drawing board and this process happens right up until pretty much the last minute. The delay afforded them the time to re-introduce these features that were already planned & probably already worked on.

aaronimpact
It's a little annoying that they say no to certain features then tell us certain features will be in the game. I know Rockstar wants to surprise us, but by lying they are just damaging their reputation. I think in the future Rockstar should just say "no comment" if they don't want to tell us anything. RichyB
You 'assume' it's not a last minute descision. Assume being the operative word there. Your assumptions were clearly wrong. This is why the game was delayed you donkey.

They werent going to add these things, then heard people whine and decided to try. They couldnt make the release date, so they pushed it back. I'd like to think (and I do think) that artistic, deep, rich games like the GTAs are indeed produced using this process, as opposed to bunch of suits and market research statistics wonks having multiple strategy meetings to cast in concrete the exact feature list of the game, 3-4 years before it gets released. Very few developers could get away with the sort of process they have for making games. If people think waiting for a game for 5 years is infuriating, imagine working on it every day for 5 years. They want to get it out the door as much as we want to play it, but when you've spent this long on one project you want it to be perfect.
Honest Bill
It's much better than developers who do it in reverse. So they can lie all they want as long as the game is as good as they say.

I think there were probably one or two things removed in this delay. That we will never even know about.
