DontSnitch
Maybe Liberty City is in the game, its not like they would have to do anything apart from update it a little bit, it would probably take about a week to put in the game, i bet before San Andreas came out no one thought CJ would be going back to Liberty City, who knows it could happen again but in a bigger way this time. Dope_0110
there seems to be no understanding that the tech and art process is hard enough doing one city, never mind 3 at this level I assume Yet all the apparent small towns and natural locations that are interesting enough to warrant their existence will be so much easier? Personally I think it's unlikely. But what the hell are they hiding? Those three trailers were tailored specifically so that we saw no more than what we've already seen. Yes, smaller towns are easier to make because a lot of it is usually repetitive and they don't really have to make the whole town feel as much though trough as the big city. In LS they have to make it all, different people in different parts of cities, complicated traffic etc.. a small town requires basic paths and traffic and they can make a couple of those using the same houses while in order to create a big city like LV they need a lot of original models and textures, people who will live there and everything else that makes up a big city. I would love to have LV as it would go great with the heist theme. After all, all those casinos are just begging to be robbed.. and there's still hope they might decide to make it a DLC where you go to airport and buy a ticket to LV. But that's wishful thinking,
Killerdude
They are hiding a lot from us. I don't think we've even seen anywhere near half of the map yet. There will be lots of things they won't talk about. We'll need to find out on our own. I seriously doubt SF/LV are in the game. The game is set in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. San Francisco is much further north than LA and Las Vegas ain't even in California. There will be lots of little towns around the map, some bigger than others. There were rumours of a city based on San Diego which is just south of Los Angeles. On the the Interstate 5 (in V) there is the Los Peurta Freeway which is heading north coming from the south. In real life on the Interstate 5 there is the San Diego Freeway which connects San Diego to Los Angeles. I think it MAY be a hint from Rockstar. Los Puerta sounds like city name to me. Also, Los Puerta = "The Door". San Diego is known as the door to the USA because it's the first major city you'd come across after crossing the border from Mexico. So if there is another city I think it will be that. Los Santos & Los Puerta. They've gone back on a lot and delayed for quite some time now (overall). Are they still sticking by this Southern California thing? How many red herrings have been thrown in the development process? They see what goes on in these forums and places like it and know the slightest of hints will lead to discovery, so they've been very careful. And no, it might not be the same cities as in SA, but LV is an opportunity too big to miss. Three character trailers now. Three city trailers later? I'm just speculating here. Add one pinch of salt. 1 delay of 4 months is not quite a bit of time, Even if it was, It still isn't anywheres NEAR enough time to create 2 very large cities. Please shut up, you'll cause the morons to start spamming more threads like these..
RandomNoun
Maybe we'll see a III-era type spinoff that centres in Las Venturas. I just find it hard to believe that the whole map is just going to be mostly empty space with one condensed area in the corner. You wouldn't make a pizza and put 95% of the topping on one slice ... You have all the landscape models and textures, then LC's pedestrian models and textures as it wouldn't look good just reusing LS pedestrians. Then there's all the sounds etc.. It's not empty space. It's a very interesting landscape with small cities, probably some abandoned houses, farms, area 51 type of thing, millitary base and all that. And some ''empty'' space just for the joy of riding around.

I agree it seems odd that we're getting a land mass that is 3.5x Redemption but only have 1 city that doesn't seem to any bigger than Liberty City. I know a lot of the map will be desert and country side but they could easily fit in a city based on San Diego which is much smaller than Los Angeles. I hope it is in the game but I have a feeling we won't find out until Rockstar show us a map or we get the game.

But even those towns need their own separate areas and culture and architecture. If that's just copy and paste from the coding of Los Santos, why can't it be modified to fit to an additional city or two? If we're looking at towns the size of Armadillo and Blackwater, then we're going to be looking at some pretty pathetic locations ... They were fine in RDR because of its scope. And what's the point in making a place bigger by copying and pasting just to make it bigger?

The Ps3 can hold 50gb and im sure the 360 fanboys can cope with 4,5,6,7,8 or however many discs it takes it just seems a waste of a city, its just sitting there waiting to be used again like a dirty little bitch and with the new updated engine and the new features it would be like having 2 game of the year edition GTA's at once. GR7
I think the two big things they will surprise us with is a San diego region of the map which acts as a smaller second city and the snowy parts of the map maybe with a ski park.
Max
I think with the emphasis on Heists in the Game a reimagined Las Venturas would be a great addition, especially with the constant movie references. jstick
It's all fun to speculate about what might be, and it is amazing to see that Rockstar has added some of these amazing features that were previously mentioned to not be included, but beware not to over hype this thing for yourselves. It's still quite unlikely that extra cities or the character gaining weight etc. still wont be included. Even the idea of being able to plan a heist with freedom, would be enough to make a really amazing game, without all the other stuff added on. IV was a piece of sh*t by far the worst ever GTA, it needs return with the new and updated features and engine but only as a secondary city like i said, it would only take R* a minute to do. And it would make for a bit of variety so not all heists are in LS Yeah. Let's not have a repetition of IV. You know, with one person basically tearing apart a whole city and going basically unnoticed. I know: suspension of disbelief. But seriously? Three people knocking over just about every source of money in a city (and its surrounding countryside!) and nobody thinks to look into it for longer than five minutes. You can just hear the police after your wanted level fades away: 'And, he's disappeared! Well, that's most definitely the last time we'll ever hear from one of those three. Let's just get back to bumping into civilian vehicles and arresting the drivers for dangerous driving.'

hithere5
I´m sure that LV and SF are NOT in the game. However, I agree on your statement that they´re hiding something, as always. Remember: They did the same with IV. Alderney was almost completely unseen until release. I guess the will do something similar with V. The CVG guys said in their video that R* only showed "one half" of the map, they turned the camera only 180 degrees (scene with Franklin jumping out of the chopper). So I´m sure that there will be rather big parts of the map which won´t be shown until the release.

Majestic81
LS doesn't have to identical to the one in SA ya know. they could make it as big as they want.
