Prebuilt. I do not have much knowledge when it comes to building computers.

Prebuilt? I don't think you'll get squat for 600 tbh. You'll probably get a low end card like 610 and a dual core processor. If you're nervous about building a computer there's a guide stickied on top or you can go on YouTube, Newegg has a video guide if I'm not mistaken. Don't forget an anti static wristband since this will probably be your first build if you decide to build it.

But if you're set on a prebuilt for $600, try eBay. They usually have dirt cheap prebuilt ones.

They all have integrated video cards. Though the AMD Processor has a better video card, but the i5 has a faster clock speed. Just go with HP G7 since it has a better video card. You'll probably still have to play GTA on low though. confused.gif

Is there a big difference between the hp and lenovo or not much of a difference?

Lenovo has a way better CPU, and HP has a way better GPU.

And the problem is GTA IV demand's a good CPU and GPU. Don't even bother expecting to run GTA IV with an Intel GPU. If I had to pick one it would have to be the HP laptop. But I would personally increase my budget in general because you wont be happy wit the performance. It would have been better if the screen was a lower res like 1366X768 but this is not the case.

I honestly feel you should learn how to custom build your own desktop as buying a pre-built system is just a rip-off. Since you're from the US it shouldn't be that hard for you to be honest. I would personally have a look at Ryan's tutorial on how to make a custom made PC over here. You do know yojo2 has done the hard part for you right? Because that's the best you can do with $600. So I suggest you order those components and then have a read at the 'Building' your PC section in the tutorial I linked to you in this post.

Listen to this guys advice, build your own PC, it's not hard at all, and you will save hundreds of dollars.

I second this motion.

Computers are a lot simpler than most people think. It's really just a few basic parts for you to assemble and you'll be saving yourself a TON of money.

Not only would you be getting a hell of a better deal but you'll gain valuable experience from putting it together yourself.

I know it is the best deal, but i am looking for something pre-built. maybe in the future i will build my own. So how well will that laptop run GTA IV?

It would run it, probably. Low-Medium settings at the most. The harddrive is a slow 5400 RPM one, as it often is in laptops, though. That'll also set you back.

Considering what you could get with the same money, if you built it yourself, or had a family member do it for you/help you, I would feel quite displeased having to play IV on a laggy laptop.

If you do go down the root of building a pc don't forget to add on the price of the operating system. That in itself can cost upto £100 everyone seems to forget that part when quting specs for a machine.

True, but in all fairness most people have a working operating system disk kicking around somewhere.
