And there are buses too, that take people around, the only question is, how much will they be interactive. I'm hoping that it's possible to take a bus and either skip the travel as a form of fast travel option, or just relax and watch it drive to your station. JoyDivision Posted May 5, 2013 Share Posted May 5, 2013 there's trains with small tunnels and bridges and i'm really happy there is. trains seem to add something to gta games, like vice city seems a bit less alive because there's no transit authority. not really a deal breaker if there isn't but i don't think we've seen evidence of a subway system yet it's a shame because the subway in IV was amazing. In Real Life the L.A Subway system isn't big like NYC one Los Angeles has 6 different lines, 80 stations total GTA V will probably have 35 stations and 4 lines, 25% of stations are ungrounded and rest Elevated GTA4 has 26 stops and 8 routes. RichyB Posted May 5, 2013 Share Posted May 5, 2013 Never was a fan of the subway in IV, it was like the slowest mode of transport when you took into account getting underground, getting on the train, doing the journey, stopping everywhere, getting back off the train and back up to ground level, it was way too slow. The fact you couldn't control them was a major, major let down. Would have been a million times better. Now I wouldn't have wanted them to have been ommited but I can't see why anybody would use them. I think now we have proper trains in V, there is not really much need for a subway. Buses however, in IV I use to want to stand at one of the bus stops and wait for the bus to come, get on and enjoy the ride to the next stop - but we couldn't. So I want this to be a feature in V. Kiffster Posted May 5, 2013 Share Posted May 5, 2013 Well, tour bus activity has already been confirmed, so I'm pretty sure there will be a normal public bus route too where you can just sit back and enjoy the ride (and probably bus sub missions too like taxi sub missions). I think trains will work the same as IV, but hopefully with a better interior view. And taxis should work like in IV too. They better even make it as realistic as in real life: buses coming too late or too early (so, almost never at the correct time), people waiting at bus stops, paying a few dollars for the ride, a voice that says what the next stop will be etc. etc. Would love to have that. The new bus in GTA V looks at least more modern than in GTA IV. Like a real city bus. That's a good start. And yes, I used to take the subway in GTA IV sometimes, but was always bored. Like RichyB is saying, it was actually very slow. Not only the ride, but also getting at the station. And at night, it takes a lot of time until any train appears. That's a shame, so I hope the public transport in GTA V will be more realistic. @Werebot85: Bus Tours sounds nice. Just to act like a real tourist and hear about the humoristic things of the celebrities. You know, with the humor of Rockstar Games. I use subways and taxis and sh*t simply because they're there. Driving cars around gets boring after a while, to the point where I'll do anything else, even it if it's a slower way of getting around. One of my favorite moments in GTA IV was when I realized that the subway was "persistent". There's that one big track junction underground where it's a sort of wide cavernous area, and there are bums gathered around a trash can fire. I saw them a couple of times when I was riding the subway through there. Later on, when I realized that I could take a motorcycle onto the subway tracks and go to that area and explore it and kill the hobos... that was a real "whoa" moment for me. Maybe R* choosed to take two different ones just to show us there will be a real bus system. Wondering whats on the display of the red/gray bus. It's too dark to see that, but as much as I could see, it should be between 0 and 10. Didn't look like it were two numbers. Anyone who can see it?
