gta_fan28
I notice in some recent Trailer of franklin and other screenshots when he stealing a car he just smash the window with his elbow like in GTAIV. I don't know if that's the only way to steal a vehicle in this game, well I hope not as the preview said the peds will have an advance AI like helping other peds, or calling the cops and film you when doing a crime. Why not use some simple tools like the slim jim or utility tools to avoid attracting attention? Best example in Sleeping Dogs using slim jm and Mafia 2 using lock picks. But the elbow smash was still in the game ofcourse especially if you're in a hurry or chasing by the cops. I'm just being realistic here to avoid attracting attention on peds and cops. So what do u think share your thoughts but please be polite and do be rude to others ok.. Here's a screenshot franklin smashing the window of the car and I'm sure it will attract attention Here's a slim Jim
iNero
they should go a bit modern. with some remote stuff. u can open cars with remote key ( dont know the english word) with a simple device which send signals on different frequences. its even possible with a smartphone. but that would be too much like Watch Dogs even though its realistic sutff and daily buisness for thiefs already

B Dawg
Some peds should leave it unlocked while they go buy a hotdog nearby
TheQuestfor100Percent
A slim jim would be a neat animation. I imagine if they did do that it would be quick just like smashing the window. I wouldn't mind a small minigame, similar to Chinatown Wars, for high end cars.

Revolution-XW
I agree OP, since stealth is now introduced into the series, I'd love it.
MrSpooge
I believe this time around they'll be atleast 2-3 more ways to Car Jack some Unlucky SOB. I plan to jump into Michaels Gardner's car as he finished off work, and as he walks to his car.. I'm make him chase it, ha... Yes you may have this idea, or just steal it.. Blow it up, replace it with a Golf Cart. Maybe I'll be a smartass and use a Tow Truck. We'll see.. But Imma give him Hell. "He'll most likely take the bus but, come on.. I'll steal the bus..." Monty Mantis
Well, I was watching the CVG video about the V demo, and they seemed to mention a sound detection thing in the bottom minimap. So my guess is, if sound and stealth are a thing, there will likely be a quiet way to steal cars.

But you are are right about stealth, since it seems to be returning, a quiet way to steal cars makes sense.
kesta195
I think the hotwiring minigame needs improving. My idea would be this: Once you have smashed the window and started hotwiring, you have to rotate the left stick to find the 'sweet spot' where the controller vibrates. Whilst keeping the stick in this position, hold accelerate to start the engine. To increase speed as this needs to be a swift process, the sweet spot would occupy maybe 60 degrees in the stick. GTAfan786
Well the game is called Grand Theft Auto. Not another retarded comment. So what if it is Grand Theft Auto? Doesn't mean everyone wants to cause havoc every single time, it's just another realistic way of stealing cars. A bit of role playing in this game is actually fun, but not too much of course. Liberty2k7
It would be good if at first we could only steal cars by smashing windows but you have the option to buy different tools to jack cars more stealthily. Maybe as our stealth stat rises we can purchase more efficient tools to do it, or at least we get better at picking locks etc. Would be a nice addition! They said that every time the character let out a burst with his (un-slienced) assault rifle, his icon on the minimap would grow bigger and then receded when he stopped. mulder84
Maybe the characters would have slightly different ways to carjack. I would imagine Franklin using stealthier methods like a Slim Jim to jack since it's kinda his profession, and realistically car windows are expensive to replace and resale value might drop. Trevor, on the other hand, might just bust the window just like that, since he probably don't give a f*ck anyway.
