Buffalo Soldier
I've just spent the past hour or so reading different site's previews of GTA V - and they all touch on the subject of money obviously playing a massive roll in the game. (As we all know by now anyway). It got me thinking, whilst yes we do want TONS of cheats like in the old days - one cheat I would happily see not make a return, is the '$50K' bonus when you do a health cheat - or the instant 10 Thousand Dollars cheats etc etc Money cheats need to go IMO. If this game is going to revolve so much around the pursuit of the almighty dollar, then why on earth would they put a money cheat in place? It was fine for past GTA games, I mean no one really asked for it - but we just took it. I mean - correct me if I'm wrong, but in past titles all it would of took is to do a simple money cheat at the very beginning of the game, and you'd have enough cash to keep you going until the end. In GTA V, there's so much to spend your money on (apparently), so I for one would rather explore the map and find treasure below the sea, work my ass off in the heists to gain money, beat up pedestrians or hookers like in the old days - to gain enough for a new gun etc What do you guys think? It just seems silly to me, if Rockstar are going to build this whole game's storyline around money AND give us tons of stuff to spend our money on - then does anyone else think they should seriously refrain from even considering putting a money cheat in? I know what some people might say 'if you don't want it, don't use it!' - and that's fair enough, but in the past we couldn't even do a simple Health or Armour cheat without automatically getting $50K slapped into our wallets, so IF they do want to put a money cheat in - at least keep it as a seperate cheat altogether so players like myself, and others, can experience the game for what it really is. kesta195
I agree. Money cheats would make the Heists completely pointless. I have confidence that R* will not cheapen the single player by adding it.
Stephan90
Cheats in general make many game restrictions obsolet so this cheat is like any other.
GTAfan786
Cheats in general make many game restrictions obsolet so this cheat is like any other. I disagree. Other cheats don't ruin the gameplay, it's for extra fun. If you don't want to use cheats, you don't have to use it. No one said we are forced to use it. I agree with the money cheat though, it will be useless this time around.
zainzombie
I totally agree. I also hope they dont include the weapons cheat this time. Ammo cheat would be cool, but we should buy weapons with the money we made.

Acetaminophen
Cheats are called CHEATS for a reason... Edit: But don't tend to use them till after I have done multiple playthrough's.
Maglev
Well I do hope they add it. What if you just want to blow the city the ***** up? First spending lots of time robbing banks and then finally get a rpg with 8 rockets? That no fun. But I do hope it isn't like HESOYAM where you have money + health or a phone menu where you need to select it. (When Niko gets hit with a bullet he puts the phone away, making it difficult to do a health cheat when under fire) I also hope for more cheats like SA where everybody is a hillbilly or lots of clows, or CJ in a leather suit. And of course a hydra cheat

The game, as it's all about the green benjamins, would get far too easy that way. Lock n' Stock
I kind of hated how a money cheat was combined with a health and armour cheat in San Andreas. I don't see the point in returning it all together, though I do think they'll be restrictions for using cheats this time around. They'll probably do what they did in Red Dead Redemption and disable achievements and autosave.
Kiffster
I don't think I've ever used a money cheat in any gta. Getting rich in gta is pretty easy and quick without it. But I highly doubt they'll ever leave it out...
TRANEMing
From GTA3 to GTA4, I didn't pay much attention about money.....because most of the time I didn't know where to spend my money even without using any cheats. VC did a good job allowing player to buy properties...but after there, I could hardly spend my money except for visiting hospital or police station or buying ammo. Hope this time GTA5 will give players more ways to spend their money just like what R* has been saying....
wwinterj
They should keep it. Different strokes for different folks and all that. I haven't used cheats past last gen GTA games and even then it was after I'd done the main story. If however folk want to use them that's up to them. GTA has quite a selection of cheats so if you don't like one then don't use it but others might like it. A cheat is a cheat no matter what way you look at it. SIXAXIS
I really don't understand why you guys are complaining. Just because there's a money cheat there doesn't mean you have to use it...It would make more sense to include the cheat and whoever wants to use it can. Kifflom112
I totally agree. I also hope they dont include the weapons cheat this time. Ammo cheat would be cool, but we should buy weapons with the money we made. If you all don't like the cheats then don't use them. I don't want the money cheat as that wouldn't be fun. But I would like the health, weapon, and wanted cheat for freetime. In freetime I just cruise around and the weapon cheat can be useful if I need to kill something. The health cheat is really helpful so my car won't get trashed, and the wanted cheat is used because when you cruise around it becomes really tiring to have cops get on your ass about bumping into you. Cheats during missions is lame but in free time is fun. I also disagree with the money cheat but leave the other cheats in, not everyone will be doing missions 24/7. Off-topic: Hope those fun cheats like the flying car cheat return again.

Like I said - if Rockstar really want to include it, then by all means - go ahead. But they should seriously make it a separate cheat from 'Health and Armour' or it'll annoy alot of people. Execta
Who forces you to use cheats? I hope there are lots of GTA:SA type of cheats like 10x higher BMX jumps and infinite slow-mo. It'll be fun to mess around with them after the story.
Topsu
I don't know. We seem to finally have a lot of realistic and in depth uses for money in the game, but why would that change cheating? You don't have to cheat to get more money if you don't want to.
Guest
Just don't use it. If someone wants to cheat their way to having alot of money, that's their loss. What would be nice though is non-cheaters could have an exclusive vehicle and weapon along with the autosave ability and trophy unlocks.

SlappyPwnsAss
Agreed. It would make the game alot more challenging and would make people do side missions, and buy businesses to get more income. As long as R* put alot of thing to spend our money on, that is. But i bet they will. I mean, what would be the point of buying businesses and marinas for extra revenue sources if you dont have many things to spend your money on. JonRenemy
Listen the bottom line is, anyone who is truly interested in playing games properly will do an entire playthrough of the single player mode with NO cheating.. to also accumulate Achievments etc... and then on further plays, stick on some cheats to make the really simple missions extra hilarious. Like in the beginning when you're supposed to kill someone with a baseball bat alone... but you cheat and rocket launcher their fat ass into the ground. Fun times. TheQuestfor100Percent
I don't even understand why people need health, armor, and money cheats. In every GTA I always end up with way, way more money than I need. The game isn't difficult enough to even use health and armor cheats to me. I would like a 'cheat' to up the difficulty of law enforcement.

MrSpooge
Either I'll Spawn a Car or Unlock Some Weapons.. All the cheats I'll be using when I see fit after Demolishing the Game. Which could take months, I don't get it either.. Sure, if your 10 and your parents or older brother let you play GTA, sure.. Get some cash, don't play the main story.. Do what you feel fit, but if your 20.. Doing that? Seriously? It's GTA.. Play the game right, or just.. eh I could care less what you do.
Monty Mantis
They'll probably do what they did in Red Dead Redemption and disable achievements and autosave. This is the most likely thing in my mind. That way, it lets people cheat but not ruin their saved progress, like when I used to slaughter entire towns with my full honor character in RDR. Kushi_Pete
I wont use the money cheat but just because U think it shouldn't be in is f*cking dumb. If U don't wanna cheat don't cheat. It's easy as that. And why do you want to cheat if u don't wanna cheat?! Edited May 5, 2013 by rsgtafan
Grand Theft Savage
People that don't intend on playing the game fair use money cheats. I'm not bothered by it at all. I haven't used cheats since Liberty City Stories...
