zidane121
How good will GTA VI be on Next-gen? Will GTA V seem average compared to it? Will it release around 2017? They did say development time would be significantly shorter on the next gen consoles so a 5 year development time for ps3 would be about 2.5 years for ps4. Thoughts.... Kipsta
It's way to early to start talking about it. I hope it's in Vice City

poklane
Where did they said develop time will be shorter? According to Sony, developing games for PS4 can be much faster than PS3.
Versous
I expect a huge map and at least 10x more pedestrians/traffic (say hello to 8GB of Ram>7 will be used for games) Edited May 4, 2013 by Versous
DS 17
Where did they said develop time will be shorter? According to Sony, developing games for PS4 can be much faster than PS3. I don't understand why the development time should be shorter. I mean it should not be become easier, but more difficult with better enhanced techniques. Well according to Sony it's easier since the PS4 is so close to a PC.

Oh, It'll 100% become easier because they'll face less limits and last time I checked dev tools are getting more efficient just like everything else in technology. It means that they can work faster like that, yeah.
initium
I expect a new GTA in 7 years or so at the end of next-gen era. If you look at what they've done with GTA V, I can only imagine that the next GTA will be a step back at least in map size

SheHePaedo
2017/2018 release - Based on the state of Florida. - Multiple cities based on Miami, Orlando, Tampa. - Florida Keyes and near by tropical islands - Everglades national park, multiple Disney theme park homage - Most of the coast of the island will be beaches and small towns - More than 3 protags, including female - Destructible environments - Full blown weather systems including tornadoes, tidal storms etc - Downside no room for snow, skiing etc. So fingers crossed V will have some in the mountains. Maybe they are saving that for Agent or even Bully 2??!
ExtremoMania
You still don't know what next-gen packs (although PS4 declared it) for it's hardware, same as what better improvements it got from PS3. But to say that, current-gen will be inferior to 8th-gen. For GTA VI, hope they recreate the beach experience of Vice City.

Kwabs
Why do people keep asking for a recreated Vice City. I hope they 'll come up with a completely new map.
reform
Why do people keep asking for a recreated Vice City. I hope they 'll come up with a completely new map. GTAIV and GTAV basically were completly new maps anyway. A new VC, expecially one that's a larger portion of the entire Florida State and not just Miami, would be plenty new enough. Not to say that I'm not open to going new places, but Florids has a lot more to offer than what we got in VC.
GTASAddict
*Sigh* Here we go again. Asking about GTA VI when GTA V isn't even out is like a pregnant woman worrying about her second baby when her first baby isn't even born yet. Likewise, it's like a high school freshman worrying about senior year in college.

Likewise, it's like a high school freshman worrying about senior year in college. Well it is always good to plan ahead In actual fact I do agree that talking about GTA VI is stupid To the OP, who said that the next GTA is VI? After 'Grand Theft Auto' came London 1961 and London 1969 After GTA III came VC, Advance, SA, LCS and VCS And After GTA IV came TLAD, TBOGT and CW Anyway, I think the next GTA would be near the same as V, just in a different map and maybe a few new side missions Meet the GTA 3 players who've spent a decade playing pass-the-pad to 100% the game | GamesRadar
bobgtafan
Why do people keep asking for a recreated Vice City. I hope they 'll come up with a completely new map. This, I hated Vice City the first damn time. What about the rest of the South? I would love a mutli-city GTA set in the South. The cities are smaller than Los Angeles so they should be able to recreate it...and of course set it in the 60s to make things interesting. The_Majestic
I think they will do 1 of 3 things... 1. Recreate Vice City and do a large portion of Florida including major cities like Miami, Tampa, Orlando, etc. Makes sense because it would be GTA VIce City... 2. Recreate NY again. Do it with the map size limits used for V. Create a more detailed New York with all the pedestrians, multiple protags, etc. from V. 3. Las Venturas - Redo LV..maybe even do a countryside and Los Santos out in the distance...who knows but I think Las Venturas would be awesome with a multiple protag storyline and money the main object. They could do every casino from real life Vegas.
XTREME0235
Sorry but discussing the next Grand Theft Auto title at this stage is a bit premature given that GTA V isn't even on shelf's yet. We should be waiting a while after V's release to consider making topics about this. When a dedicated section has been made for the next GTA title, then you know it's the right time to make topics about it. Locked.
