Health items and armour will still be neccesary, its just to make sure we still have a last chance if we get down to low health. Two or three shots could still ice you.

Regen doubts will probably be forgotten about when people realize its needed to keep u in the action and balance with the smarter enemy AI

April was probably the best GTA month, and this was probably the best GTA week, and people are still complaining.

People are always trying to find a reason to complain. Me? I am more than satisfied for what they showed us! Anyways, I think the game will have increased difficulty; that's why we need such abilities and regenerating health.

to all the people who are complaning about this, you actually don't know how fast the health will regenerate, maybe it will take forever so you won't even recognize it. to be honest, i dont like it either. biggrin.gif

I think only regenerating to 50% is perfect, I like it.

My only potential concern with this is if they have the same screen effects as RDR when you lose life, where the screen starts going dark. I don't want to be stuck in a long shootout and being forced to deal with a darkish, ugly screen because my health's only at 50%. But hopefully R* thought of this too.

So do I, no longer will I have to treat slow moving traffic like it's the plague after a long shoot out. I wouldn't mind if they changed it from 50% to 25%. I think I will enjoy this new addition.

Hopefully it will take 1 or 2 minutes, Ai will be alot smarter and you will only be able to take 3 shots without armor.

if not, I hope it's optional or I might not get this game.

I don't want an incredibly easy game and I want shootouts to be fun unlike Red Dead.

This was the one thing that disappointed me, but then I thought about how many times I died for stupid sh*t in IV. I'm not even talking about mission related issues, but more about cars barely touching me. Some regenerating health isn't too bad. At least it doesn't fully regenerate.

I also bet this won't be included in a harder/custom difficulty. Just read what R* said about aiming. It will be a choice and I'm guessing we'll be able to choose other options as well so everybody can customize their own experience.

Of course with regenerating health A.I. will be brutal.

And boring like Red Dead? If you mean Revolver then yeah, but Redemption? No, that game is intense.

Well, than change your play style. Be more aggressive. Skipping a game of this caliber because of something like this is ridiculous... but I get the feeling that was a hollow claim to begin with.

Who knows, maybe health will regen to a lower amount or be taken out completely at the higher difficulty level.

I posted that a little over two years ago. To say I'm disappointed in the regenerating health feature showing up in V would be a little dramatic. 50% is fair trade for both groups, but I'd still like the option to not use it, because I don't use the HUD or auto-aim for the same reasons. I like a challenge.

That being said I think R knows why they did it and it probably has a lot to do with the character switching system, which I'd never would have even thought of when I made that post.

LOL!

It regenerates health?

So awesome, hard to die in that one

They never mentioned how slow health will regenerate did they? It could be in-game hours. Say you get attacked in the wilderness and you manage to escape, there are no hotdog stands or hospitals around, so this becomes incredibly useful. What's to say there isn't an option to disable it anyway? It's not exactly hard to implement an option to stop your health regenerating.

it only regains 50% of it... CVG said that

Exactly. Come on, people. It's NOT a game-breaker.

I actually like that a lot tbh.

What's your problem? the way they said it works sounds perfectly reasonable. I'm tired of dying from bullsh*t because theres no heath kits around.

Wasn't completely on the band wagon my self, but then I thought. "I died in RDR just as much if not a little more than I do in GTA...so only 50% should be fine" really I see it as avoiding needed to be hell of careful while just screwing arround, not so much as making Gun fights easier, no needed to worry about geting grazed by a slight breeze from a taxi passing by to kill you when you have 5% health.

Personally I like most if not all of the features they've added, and or are returning, not completely sold on the ablities (really will diffrentiate the protags though same with skill sets) but none the less I'm willing to try it all out.

I'm excited as all hell for GTAV.

Shootouts were not fun for me in Redemption. I could easily survive a high bounty on expert, and yes I was being aggressive. Hopefully you'll die faster than Redemption if it's not optional. But I've just read the previews and it sounds like the AI has gotten buffed up alot.

Why the bitching?

It worked in RDR perfectly, like many people stated, in IV you could die out of nonsense because you didn't have time to grab yourself a sprunk. Trust me, if the AI's been revamped up, and with all these new heists where everything must go according to plan, you are going to wish you didn't bitch about it a few months back. Maybe it makes the game a bit less challenging. Maybe it doesn't. Maybe it can be turned off in the menu options. Maybe there's a hardcore mode.

Who knows?

It didn't work very well in RDR...

It was harder to die in it than GTA IV, which is almost impossible.

OH NOEZ REGENERATING HEALTH AAAHHHH NOT GONNA BUY THE GAME ANYMORE ROCKSTAR!

I seriously don't get the "traditionalists". But really? It's only partial anyway, probably will work similar to Mafia II, and we're going on missions like heists. Stop bitching, this will be the best GTA game to date.

At first I hated the idea, but I just played Just Cause 2 again--JC2 has the exact same kind of health system GTA V will have (you heal automatically up to 50%, any higher and you need to get Health packs), and it's still an incredibly fun and difficult open world game.

If Just Cause can do it right, then GTA V can DEFINITELY do it right.

FFS get over it. The game will be amazing.

Stop nit-picking on little things. If you hate it so much then don't buy the game/make your own.

They should be able to since they payed for the game.

Although they really need to make these easy mode features optional or make an easy mode with trophies/achievements disabled.
