From what we have seen and heard today, I think it's safe to assume that GTA V may be on multiple discs for the 360. I say about 2-3 at the very least. There is no way they could compress all that content on 1 disc and not ruin the image quality. First of all, this is not a war topic of any kind, I own both a PS3 and Xbox 360. If that's all you cam to this topic to do, please leave now. This thread is to discuss the possibilities of how many GB each disc will hold and how many discs it could possibly have. From all today's info, it is said GTA V will be 3x bigger than RDR. I don't think one disc can hold all of that with all the new features and missions. I think the map will be on all discs, but the missions will be separated onto all three. Meaning that to progress the story, you will have to switch discs in the process. I know it sounds like a hassle, but let's be real here guys, if you only have a 360 and you don't feel like switching the discs, let me ask you this, why did you buy a 360 in the first place knowing stuff like this would happen? Maybe because it's cheaper? It doesn't essentially matter what console you play on, what matters is that the quality of the game will be the same on all consoles. That is why I made this topic, to discuss the overall capacity of the DVDs that will hold GTA V, and how many of them will be needed. I will create a poll to discuss how many Discs will be required for the 360 version. This is no way or kind a joke or troll thread, it is about serious discussion, and the overall image quality of GTA V on 360. That is all. Discuss and speculate how many discs GTA V will have on 360, the capacity of the discs, and the overall image quality of GTA V on Xbox 360.

Limit Break

I don't mind swapping discs. You'd really have to be a lazy slob for it to bother you to get off your ass for 15 seconds

Why does everybody keep forgetting that 360 has an "install game data" option?

Bro, many people just don't wanna play GTA on multiple discs, it's not down to laziness. For many it's annoying and it might momentarily ruin the experience.

Stop trying to look for valid excuses to coerce people to be okay with it. If they don't don't like it, then respect it, rather than call them lazy.

Again...why does it matter? If you don't want to swap discs then don't lol.

2 discs. One to install data and the other to play so that you don't have to swap. Like halo 4 and l.a noire

Loves GTA

Compression.

Game at most will be two discs. 1 for SP, 1 for MP. Probably just one.

yes, that was totally known to me in like.. 2005, or when did the f*cking thing release? Anyway, if this is not meant to be a fanboy thread, why do you talk like one?

Because even with installed games you have to switch discs.

L.A Noire was 3 discs. I hear it was originally going to be 4.

OT: I'm guessing 3 discs. I've been saying it for a long time now... Anyone that thinks this can fit on one discs doesn't know a thing about Xbox...

null vote.... probaby 2 discs, but you download data from first disc, then second disc, then just use the first disc to play....

And If I recall correctly, Rockstar cannot make the game have a required install. Microsoft won't let games have mandatory installs because they sell crappy little 4GB systems.

I literally don't care how many discs it's on.

Of course it would be great to have it on one disc but as long as they include an install disc (to install the map ect.) and another disc which features the missions and perhaps multiplayer, its fine.

360 users can either play the game on multiple discs or buy a PS3 which is pointless with the new generation of consoles coming out this year.

In the long run, i'm almost certain that GTA V will be ported over to the new generation of consoles anyway. When that will happen however is another matter.

Its at the end of the consoles life cycle so why not break the rules. Anyone that still has a 4GB system probably dont use their console much.

I don't own a PS3 but I would consider getting one for V if the 360 version has multiple discs. One thing I didn't like about L.A. Noire was that there was certain things that you couldn't do on one of the three discs because it was on another. Doing police street missions, driving the special cars around, were things that you could only do on certain discs because they were exclusive to that disc. It's not laziness, I'd rather just have all the content on one disc. Then again once V comes around and I have enough money for the game only I'll probably just end up giving the PS3 the finger.

People just don't understand code do they.

6.6GB disk space.

1 mission will probably take up a maximum of 6kb, that is tiny, very tiny. Not even a megabyte.

The thing that takes up most room on the disk is graphics and sound assets.

This will be one disk. Pushing it to two, but I would assume disk 2 would simply be for multiplayer.

my guess is the map alone will be on one disk which is a mandatory intall, then everything else on a second disc.

It wont be more than 3 discs and I doubt they'll even go to that amount.

2 Discs.

I think the main reason L.A Noire contained 3 discs was because of the facial technology. People need to remember that GTA V won't have this technology.

Aside from that, audio is the biggest consumption of space.

Then again if you think about it, Red Dead redemption had a full score like V will have and that was still contained on one disc. Although I suppose GTA V will have all the radio show audio ,character audio, vehicle audio not to mention all the audio needed for the environment as well as the weather.

I think it will have two discs.

Halo 4 had it so you download the data before you play. Preventing the need for multiple discs. Don't care either way.

I believe if they are going to have more than one disc, they will make you install the data from the second disc, since its an open world game.

I highly doubt they would have a "in order to go to this location, you need to switch discs"
