Special abilities

The community seems very split on special abilities, so I wanted to make a poll to see what the community in general thinks of special abilities. In my opinion, it looks like a good feature, it's a nice step from GTA IV.

I can't tell what they look like because I haven't seen them.

 

However, they don't sound like something i'll be using a lot right now because I prefer GTA's raw gunfights. The great thing is is that we don't have to use them if we don't want to. Come September though, I probably might have a change of heart.

GTA V has officially become Red Dead (hunting)/ La Noire (LA)/ and Max Payne 3 (Bullet time) combined apparently. I wonder if they will improve on what they learned all these years.

The three protagonist thing is a good idea and different things they're better at is good. But the things rockstar picked suck ass.

You guys realize these special abilities are like having fun cheats built right into the gameplay, right?

 

I don't see anything wrong with that.

 

And I didn't use RDR's dead-eye feature all that much, but it was fun to play with and very handy from time to time.

If its anything like the below three videos i will be sick on my controller, As for the people saying dont use. Its going to be required in some missions to suceed and theres going to be a big flashing icon on the screen to let you know your magic has fulled up

I don't mind them that much. Only Franklin's vehicle kinda bullet time seems like a great idea to me, I think it's gonna make police chases much more awesome. I really like that they brought back rpg elements and I think these special abilities will definitely add to the experience.

 

Oow and if you don't like them don't use them

I like it. It sounds like a fun addition. I loved slowing down time in MP3/RDR and I assume slowing down time while driving as Franklin will be pretty fun. I remember Midnight Club 2 had that feature/power-up where you could slow down time which would help you steer the car into the direction where you couldnt have gone in full speed, not only was it fun but it looked and felt cool too. Trevor's skill sounds like it will turn him into a brute.

 

It all sounds very fun to me and I think I will be using Franklins special skills more than the others because I totally loved this in MC.

 

Plus if someone doesnt like these special skills, they can just not use it. I think it will be really fun to use these.

I agree with the comment made about Frank's ability.

Imagine being chased by the police in a fast ass car and you see a sharp turn *SLOWMO* turn and look behind you as the po-po all crash against the wall you just missed.

Bullet time is just cheesy, so is the Trevor rage thing. Seems more for beginners.
